Stampin’ Up! Snail Mail Flip Card

Hi there! It is Apr 29 and getting mighty close to the end of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog (May 3) AND ordering opportunities for the NEW 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, (May 4). WOOHOO! It is sad when we part with some of our favorites, but the new is always challenging and fun. LOVING the new In Colors by the way… more on that later. Let’s see our card 🤗

Todays card is made using a fun bundle from the Jan-Jun Mini Catalog called Snailed It and Snail Mail DSP.

Snail Mail Flip Card – #1

The colors in this are so fresh & bright. I’m loving this. I took the Bermuda Bay card base and folded it in half, then took the front and folded it back on itself. I covered each of the panels in Snail Mail DSP with liquid glue. I then took that fun squarish die from the Snail Dies, laid it on the front of the fold and die cut just half. You do this by laying your top cutting plate just on the portion that you desire to cut and run it through your machine. I then die cut two panels, still using the same squarish die and more Bermuda Bay card stock. I adhered these to the front and back of the 1/2 die cut on the card base. I then decorated these panels.

For the front panel I stamped the cute snail in Memento Black ink on a Basic White scrap. I colored the snail using both Light & Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends for the snail, then NEW Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends for the snails shell. I took a Real Red Marker and colored the heart. This was adhered to the panel with dimensionals. I stamped the word ‘hello’ from the Snailed It stamp set in Real Red ink on another Basic White scrap and die cut it with the bubble die in the Snail Dies. I adhered this with liquid glue so it looked as though the snail was talking to us. 🙂 I added 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots

For the back panel I die cut a bubble with the heart from more of the Snail Mail DSP and adhered it with both liquid glue and a dimensional. (It covered the back of the front bubble perfectly!) I then die cut the very cute envelope from more of the Snail Mail DSP and put it together with just dabs of liquid glue where the folds meet. I then used the Rectangular Postage Punch to punch a Basic White piece and covered it with several die cut hearts (Real Red) using the Snail Dies. I decided ton secure this punched piece inside the envelope so it wouldn’t fall out, then adhered that to the panel – as shown.

For the larger panel I used the Layering Squares to die cut a Pool Party piece larger than the die from the Snail Dies, so that when the card is closed it created a nice border. I then cut a piece of Basic White and stamped it with a sentiment from Color & Contour stamp set (NEW!) in Memento Black ink. In took a Real Red marker and created an outline all around. I then added more of the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots and adhered this to the Pool Party Panel.

For the bottom right decoration, I fussy cut three mushrooms from one of the Snail Mail DSP. I adhered the bottom ‘room directly to the card with liquid glue. The largest ‘room was adhered with dimensionals. The yellow ‘room was added with liquid glue and a dimensional under the stem. I then die cut two more ‘rooms from the Snail Dies with Basic White card stock. The larger ‘room, I saved the pieces that came out and colored them: Dark Crumb Cake Blends and a Black marker. Once the die cut ‘room was in place I put dots of liquid glue in the openings and added the colored pieces. I fussy cut a red ‘room the same size as the smallest die cut ‘room and adhered them together. This was added with liquid glue. The card was nearly done!

Snail Mail Flip Card – #2

Because I wanted a place to write something, I turned the card over and adhered a Basic White panel to which I had added a Snail Mail DSP strip along the long side. NOW the card was complete. 😊

Snail Mail Flip Card – #3

For the envelope I added more of the Snail Mail DSP to the flap and and an additional strip across the bottom of the front of the envelope. VOILA! Fun card, right?!

Stampin’ Up! Snailed It w/ Mini Shipping Boxes

Blessed Good Friday today… gosh, this has come oh so quickly for me… hard to believe it’s here already. I’ve been preparing some little gems to send forth to others using the SU! Mini Shipping Boxes and the Snailed It bundle. This is such a cute set… and I had lots of fun using the coordinating Snail Mail DSP. Let’s take a peek.

Aren’t these fun? Filled w/ little goodies for each to open, these will be a nice little treat. I covered each of the sides:

Bermuda Bay for the first box, Real Red for Box #2 and Pretty Peacock for box #3. (Card stock cuts will be listed at the bottom of this post.) I then used various sheets of the Snail Mail DSP to adhere to them – yep, liquid glue is my choice, but feel free to use Stampin’ Seal if that’s what you prefer. I then tied various coordinating ribbon around each: Braided Linen Trim, Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack, and finally Playing w/ Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack. Then I decorated the top.

I stamped each of the stamps with Memento Black ink then colored with appropriate Blends to coordinate with the particular box. Box #1 used Flirty Flamingo and Bermuda Bay, and I stamped the bubble in Flirty Flamingo ink; box #2 used Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo and Pool Party Blends; box #3 used Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Flirty Flamingo. I die cut the mushroom and the snail with their respective dies using the Snail Dies. The Happy Mail rectangle was trimmed with paper snips. For box #2 I die cut the square using the Snail Dies and covered it with the same DSDP. Box #3 I also cut an envelope using the Snail Dies (cute cute envelope!) There is also a small rectangle die in the Snail Dies and I cut 3 using Basic White card stock, then used a Stampin’ Write marker to write the recipients name. I also made a pop-up for each box with a 1/2″ x 3 1/2 strip, scored every 3/4″. See the side-view photo.

And here’s one of the top view…

Snailed It w/ Mini Shipping Boxes – top view

When I closed and filled the box, I adhered the bottom together with Seal + and put a Thick Basic White card piece in the bottom to make it more sturdy. I’m very pleased with how these turned out and hope the recipients like them too. Sending each of them special hugs…

I hope you like today’s project. I would love to see what you do with these fun shipping boxes. Stampin’ Up! Snailed It

Hello folks. It’s Tuesday and we just might get snow today. If I put it in writing, maybe it will happen. I like snow – it’s soft and beautiful, especially if it’s big flakes. There probably won’t be much, b ut a covering is always nice. 🙂

Todays card is made with a bit of whimsy… clotheslines with hearts dangling, and some falling into the cutest little envelope. And of course, as the title indicates, Herb the snail is on a delivery mission.

    Snailed It – #1

The base of the card is Thick Basic White. On this is a layer of Pool Party card stock adhered with dimensionals. The top layer is Flirty Flamingo – and should have been embossed. It would give the card so much more character, texture, ‘oompf’ if I had. 😦

    • Die cut hearts came from many sources: Many Hearts Dies (new), Heart to Heart (new), Stitched Be Mine dies and Detailed Hearts dies. I like the varied shapes and sizes, some hollow, some not. It adds charm.
    • With Linen Thread, string on the open hearts and adhere others with liquid glue. The Linen Thread is adhered to the back of the Flirty Flamingo panel with Stampin’ Seal.
    • Die cut this adorable envelope using the Snail Dies. The paper is Sand & Sea DSP (gorgeous, right?!)
    • On a piece of Basic White card stock, stamp the word ‘hello’ from the Snailed It stamp set in Memento Black ink, then die cut with one of the Snail Dies.
    • On another piece of Basic White card stock, stamp “Herb the snail” from the Snailed It stamp set in Memento Black ink. Color him with several Blends: Bermuda Bay & Pool Party, Petal Pink & Light Lovely Lipstick for the packages and Smoky Slate for Mr Herb. Carefully add Wink of Stella to Herb & the packages, not blending the colors into one another (otherwise they smear – and you don’t want that!).
    • Adhere Herb with dimensionals, the envelope with liquid glue, then add the additional hearts, as though they are falling from the clotheslines. I layered a couple of them. and one is on dimensionals with a cute pink heart from the Sending Hearts Paper Pumpkin kit!
    • For a final touch of glam, add three Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
    • Adhere the Flirty Flamingo panel to the Pool Party with liquid glue and your card front is complete.
Snailed It w/ Heart To Heart – #2

For the inside… Adhere a panel of Pool Party to the inside of the card. with liquid glue. Note just where you want your ‘frame’ and stamp the leaf from the Heart To Heart Bundle in Granny Apple Green ink. Add one of the leftover die cut hearts for the ‘flower’. Now add the frame panel with liquid glue and your card is complete. Now, I suppose you want to know about that inside panel and where it came from… it’s the border of an Ornate frames die.

For the envelope I veered back to the Snail Mail DSP for the envelope flap, then stamped the ‘Happy Mail’ from the Snailed It stamp set in Memento Black ink. I colored the little envelope in Light Pool Party Blends – and the whole kit & kaboodle is ready to send… I’m using mine as a Valentine card for someone special 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Fun Fold w/ Flower & Field DSP

Yesterday was a holiday… did you relax, go for a hike, walk your dog three times around the block? What did you do for the break? Let me know…

I have a fun fold for you today – one using more of the Flower & Field DSP that’s FREE w/ a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration. You will see more use of this fold as it’s just so easy. I first saw it on a video by another demonstrator, Patty Bennett. I’ve created mine in a landscape position while hers was all portrait. Nevertheless, it works the same – and here’s my card.

Fun fold w/ Flower & Field

Isn’t this happy? I love the colors – bright, cheery ~ and that little snail, oh my…He comes from a new bundle call Snailed It and it comes with dies (Snail Dies no less!).I used several products to make this card, but it could be kept very simple. I just was wanting to u se the snail, so included it 🙂

    Detail… beginning…

    • So Saffron card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2. On the long side, score at 2, 3 1/8, 5 3/8 & 6 1/2. Burnish the folds to make them look like this…
    Fun Fold w/ Flower & Field DSP – #2
    • Cut 3 panels of DSP that coordinate: two of the same & 1 different 1 3/4 x 5 1/4: Flower & Field DSP
    • Adhere panels with liquid glue as shown in first photo
    • Stamp a sentiment on Basic White card stock for the front of the card – here I chose a cheerful one from the Happy Thoughts stamp set. The ink is Memento Black
    • Cut it out with a die from Tasteful Labels Dies and adhere with dimensionals
    • To add some extra fun to the card, I pulled out the Snailed it bundle, stamped the snail in Memento Black ink and colored it with Stampin Blends: Just Jade, Light Smoky Slate for the shell (I also added sparkle to the shell with Wink of Stella), Lt Petal Pink for the heart. I die cut him with the Snail Dies and adheredwith liquid glue and mini dimensionals ~ the minis were under the envelope and the snail shell, liquid glue under the body.
    • For another bit of fun, I added the sweet flower on a dimensional. It was stamped in Petal Pink ink and got a Matte Black Dot put in the middle. About the flower… this one comes from the Sweet Strawberry bundle which has a coordinating Strawberry Builder Punch that has this cute flower. BUT – you could fussy cut a flower from the paper! There is also a set of dies that coordinate with this paper – and it’s on it’s way, just not here yet (due Fri the tracker says) It’s called IN BLOOM and can be found in the Jan – Jun 2021 Mini Catalog on pg 45. Several of the dies coordinate with the Flower & Field DSP and will cut them out, adding fun little decoration to the flowers. I can’t wait!!
    • By the way – the front of the card is now complete!

Turn the card over – stamp the word ‘hello’ from the Snailed It stamp set in Memento Black ink on a Basic White card piece – 1 3/4 x 5 1/4. HINT: remember which way your card goes – landscape! Adhere with liquid glue and your card is complete.

Cover the envelope flap with more of the Flower & Field DSP and stamp the front of the envelope with the word bubble in Memento Black ink and the word in So Saffron. Both come from the Snailed It stamp set. Voila!
