Stampin’ Up! Elegantly Said Birthday

Happy Father’s Day to all the men out there! May you feel loved & appreciated for all you do & are.

Today’s card uses the Elegantly Said bundle, Penned Flowers Dies and the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder plus a few other elements. It incorporates two of the new In Colors ~ Pale Papaya & Soft Succulent which compliment each other nicely.

Elegantly Said Birthday.1

Golly, this photo is d-a-r-k… ugh. I began by running a panel of the Soft Succulent card stock through the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and adhering it directly to the Soft Succulent card base. Next I added a panel of the 2021-2023 In Color 6×6 DSP in Soft Succulent, to a larger panel of Basic White then wrapped Open Weave Ribbon in Pale Papaya around it and tied a bow, and adhered that with liquid glue as well. I had this floral die cut on my desk for a while – it comes from the Penned Flowers Dies and was die cut from Pale Papaya card stock. I adhered that with dots of liquid glue and added a couple of Genial Gems to the floral centers.

Next I stamped the sentiment from Elegantly Said stamp set onto a Basic White piece then punched it out using the Elegant Tag Punch. I also punched a longer piece in Pale Papaya card stock and adhered the two together to create a banner. I put dimensionals on the back and attached it to the card front. I added three more Genial Gems to the banner (this time in green) and the card front was done.

For the inside I added a 1/2″ wide strip of the same 2021-2023 6×6 In Color DSP to a Basic White panel and adhered it to the inside of the card – no additional sentiment or stamping – and no photo either 😦 What was I thinking!!! For the envelope I added a panel of the 2021-2023 6×6 In Colore DSP in Soft Succulent to the envelope flap and voila! Card cuts are listed at the bottom of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Congratulations with Hand-Penned

The Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack, along with the Hand-Penned Cards & Envelopes are such an ideal way to create with beautiful items. The Card Pack has labels & stickers plus two sizes of cards that can be mixed and matched. Today’s card uses these and only an additional ribbon for a quick & easy, yet beautiful card.

Hand-Penned Congratulations.1

The card base itself is pretty: Pool Party in color with polkadots. I cut one of the card panels from the pack in half to make it 3 x 4, then backed it with Pale Papaya card stock just slightly larger. The sentiment banner is a sticker and I added that to a Basic White strip to make it stand out a bit. I put dimensionals on the back of the strip and added it to the card front. I wrapped a length of Open Weave Ribbon in Evening Evergreen around the panel and tied a bow, adhering it with a glue dot under the knot. This panel was adhered to the card front with liquid glue and the card front was done.

Hand-Penned Congratulations.2

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from A Grand Kid in Pale Papaya ink on the Basic White panel. I added the flourish in Soft Succulent ink using the Hand-Penned stamp set. The stem was stamped off once, while the tips are full strength. This panel was adhered to a slightly larger piece of Pale Papaya then into the card base and the card was done.

The envelope is fully self decorated from the Hand-Penned Memories & More Card & Envelopes ~ and it’s beautiful. These cards are slightly larger than our standard, 4 1/4 x 6 but do not require extra postage. Yay!

Stampin’ Up Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack, Hello

Happy Memorial Day! For most of our country, the mask mandate has been lifted and it will be nice to see whole faces when out & about. Remember some basic sanitation… wash hands frequently… and may you stay safe. Again, thank you to those who have served in our military and whose lives are now gone, but not forgotten. Bless you!

Today’s card uses another partial panel of the Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack ~ familiar as I used a portion of it the other day for a post. For this card I used the Basic Borders Dies and the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack as an outline.

Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack, 1

This card is just so fresh and cheery, isn’t it? The card pack panel is 2 x 5 1/2, bordered by Blushing Bride using this fun rick-rack design from the Basic Borders dies. After adhering the border with liquid glue, I used a length of the Baker’s Twine in Black and tacked it in place on the back of the Basic White panel (4 1/4 x 5 1/2), with Seal+. I then stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink using the Pansy Patch stamp set. To highlight the word ‘hello’ I added three 2021-2023 In Color Jewels underneath. This panel was adhered with dimensionals to the Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4) – and the front was done!

Hand-Penned Mem. & More Card Pack, Hello – inside

For the inside I kept this really simple… I stamped a couple of the small flowers from the Hand-Penned petals stamp set in stamped-off once Blushing bride ink, then used a Micron pen to add some detail. It really does make it look as though it was taken from the paper on the front of the card 🙂

Hand-Penned Mem. & More Card Pack, Hello – 3

With the card complete, I decorated the envelope flap with a couple of strips of the Hand-Penned DSP, adhered with liquid glue and trimmed to fit. It doesn’t really matter the size of the strips, I just used left over pieces. For the front of the envelope I did the same as the inside of the card; stamped the flowers from the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set in stamped-off Blushing Bride ink and added detail with a Micron pen. Love this look! You will probably see me do this more often in the future – just sayin’.

Today is the LAST DAY of the Stampin’ Up! joining promotion… more information is listed below… it really is the best deal in town. I’ll share the product list for today’s card followed by the promotion specials.

Stampin’ Up! Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack, Thanks

Hello! Happy weekend! As a matter of fact, it is MEMORIAL DAY weekend. If you have served in the military ~ or are part of a military family, thank you for your service. It is an honor to serve our country: thank you, thank.

Today’s card COULD be a thank you to a woman in the service. Honestly I hadn’t thought of that when I made it, but I like the idea. The card front is from the Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack and I embellished it with ribbon and a few butterflies and the sentiment of ‘thanks’. Let me give you a bit more detail.

Hand-Penned Thanks

This is probably my favorite in the Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack. I could use a whole pack of this design :O) I cut it down to 4 x 5 1/2 and mounted it on a Highland Heather panel just slightly larger (4 1/8 x 5 5/8). I then wrapped the Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon, secured it in back with Seal+ then added another short length to tie a knot. The knot has a glue dot under it to hold it in place. The card called for more ~ so I obliged by pulling out the Brilliant Wings Dies: the larger butterfly is die cut from Basic Black card stock and the two smaller are from Pool Party. The larger butterfly was added with a thin line of liquid glue down it’s body, while the smaller ones were attached with glue dots. I then stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink from the Hand-Penned Petal stamp set. I added dimensionals to the back and adhered it to the card front and voila.

Hand-Penned Thanks

For the inside, I randomly stamped the flowers in Fresh Freesia using two different floral sizes from the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set on a Basic White panel 4 x 5 1/4. I added the two sizes of leaves from the same stamp set in stamped-off Garden Green (the lighter greens were stamped, then stamped again without re-inking). I then took a Micron pen and added some detail to the flowers & leaves. The softness of the colors and the added pen makes it look very much like a pen & ink painting. Love it! I mounted it on a slightly larger piece of Pool Party card stock to bring in the color of the card base (4 1/8 x 5 3/8) with liquid glue then right into the inside of the card with more liquid glue. I use liquid glue a lot, cuz I prefer the wiggle room it provides if I don’t get it perfect at first.

The envelope if from the Hand-Penned Memories & More Cards & Envelopes – oh – and the card base is as well. Gosh, I don’t think I mentioned that… well now I did and now you know. No secrets here 🙂

Hand-Penned Thanks

Stampin’ Up! Creating Own Background w/ Hand-Penned

Hi Everyone – it’s a rainy Sunday. How the plants have loved the cool weather and Spring rains! It really helps them get established with strong roots, which leads to our roots. What are your strong roots? What is it that keeps you grounded? Great question, right? And one that requires some thought. I’m going to suggest you write those ideas down on paper. Writing them down helps confirm them, makes them more real, firms them in your head and can encourage action in one direction or another.

Today’s ‘action’ or creation is one where we create our own background and I’ve used a new bundle called Hand-Penned. It’s lovely and looks a bit like watercolor – it’s fluid. And I’ve coordinated two of the new In Colors: Polished Pink and Pale Papaya, which would not have occurred to me to do at one point. But I like this combo along with Flirty Flamingo. Let’s take a look.

Creating own background w/ Hand-Penned – #1

I began by stamping the floral pattern randomly on a Basic White panel with Polished Pink ink. It’s a fairly large stamp so it only took a couple of times to cover the panel. Then I played with several filler colors before settling on stamped-off Flirty Flamingo ink. This took a bit of time to fill in all the areas – and I’ve said before I rather lean toward monochromatic. That means leaves and flowers all were stamped with the stamped-off once Flirty Flamingo ink. And notice it doesn’t fill in the entire leaf or flower – a bit like watercolors. Nor is it a perfect match for all the flowers – it’s fluid, giving it an easy look. Once done I played with colors for the mat, knowing I wanted a contrast but something soft, and settled on the Pale Papaya. What do you think? I really like it… it’s like a neutral that makes the pink pop but not too much. Because of the mat, I wanted to use more of that on the front to tie it in and chose to use one of the new ribbons: Pale Papaya & White 1/2″ ribbon and simply folded it back on itself. I attached it to the card front with Stampin’ Seal but could have used a glue dot or two just as easily. I then took the Penned Flower Dies and die cut one in Pale Papaya card stock. I stamped the sentiment in Polished Pink ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock and die cut it with the Ornate Frames Dies. I die cut a background layer, again with the Ornate Frames dies, but in Polished Pink card stock. I popped the Basic White sentiment on with dimensionals, added dimensionals to the Polished Pink panel and layered it over the die cut flower flourish (which had been adhered with spots of liquid glue). For a bit of glam, I added three In Color Rhinestones in Pale Papaya. This entire front panel was adhered to the Polished Pink card base with dimensionals – and the front was done.

Creating own Background w/ Hand-Penned, inside – #2

For the inside, I did the same as with the front: stamped the outline of the floral image with Polished Pink ink in the two corners of a Basic White panel, then stamped the filler stamps with stamped-off once Flirty Flamingo ink. I layered this on another Pale Papaya card stock then into the inside of the card – and the card was complete.

Creating own Background w/ Hand-Penned – #3

For the front of the envelope, I followed the same procedure: stamped the outline of the floral image in Polished Pink ink then used the filler stamps, stamped off once with Flirty Flamingo ink. Voila! I really really like this color combo! The Flirty Flamingo with the Polished Pink is a great combinations and using Pale Papaya as an off-set neutral worked.

I hope you like the card and have this Hand-Penned bundle as on your list for a first purchase. It is gorgeous.
The new items will be available soon – May 4, so make that list! If I can help you in any way, please let me know. If you do not have a demonstrator and need a catalog, I’m happy to get one to you. For nay purchases through me, please use my
