Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Garden Dies

Good Wednesday morning… I am with my Grandkids and today is finals week. Last night our grandson was studying for a history final. Goodness, I could not believe the questions – quite difficult. He’s done really well this week and I’m super proud. :O) OK… my card.

I used the new Gorgeous Garden Dies, which is another stand alone set, meaning no stamp set is bundled with it. It really is gorgeous.

I began with Lemon Lime Twist card stock and with Blending Brushes, added Calypso Coral ink, Mossy Meadow ink and Lemon Lime Twist ink, then die cut the piece with my cut & emboss machine. I ran it through a couple of times as this is a really intricate die cut and I wanted all the detail. I used little dabs of liquid glue under all the leaves to attach the die cut to the Lemon Lime Twist card base. Since I needed a sympathy card I decided on this sentiment from Layering Leaves stamp set and stamped it with Mossy Meadow ink. It’s die cut with a die from Cheerful Daises Dies, but I removed one end as I liked the look better. I tied a double bow and added it to the sentiment banner. The banner is attached with dimensionals. And the card front was done.

For the inside I used a left over strip from the blending done on the card front and adhered it near the bottom of the Basic White panel. I then stamped this beautiful image from the Layering Leaves stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink along the one side. I goofed just a bit because I don’t have my acrylic blocks with me, but I still like the effect. And this panel was adhered to the inside of the card – done, done.

This card looks so pretty in person and the photos don’t really show it off. I’m so sorry!

Stampin’ Up! Country Floral Suite for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

And… drum roll… here’s my card:

I’ve used all new products in the Country Floral Lane Suite – and they are so F-U-N! I didn’t want a Valentine’s card, but I DID want hearts & friendship & bicycles. The items in this suite of products include: County Bouquet Bundle (includes punch), Real Red and Burlap Ribbon pack, Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins (Gold, Petal Pink & Balmy Blue – I used all 3!), Country Gingham 6×6 DSP and Country Floral Lane 12×12 DSP. What an awesome combination of products. I love the plaid of the Country Gingham 6×6 DSP,; love the fact the punch is not a quite a traditional shape; love the ribbon pack as well ~ what’s not to love about this suite?! The hearts along the Real Red Ribbon are on dimensionals; then sequins added to the DSP. The linen thread was added with a glue dot and really add a fun flare to this card (at least to me it does!)

For the inside… I adhered a strip of the Country Floral Lane 12×12 DSP to the edge of a Basic White panel, then stamped the sentiment from Country Bouquet stamp set in Sweet Sorbet ink, then added the punched hearts & leaves using the Country Bouquet Punch along with the Country Gingham 6×6 DSP. This panel was adhered to the inside of the card and – done!

The envelope was easy peasy… more of the Country Floral 12×12 DSP to the envelope flap and stamped hearts in Sweet Sorbet ink using the Country Bouquet stamp set.

Stampin’ Up! Birthday with By the Bay Specialty DSP

Hello – ’tis Sat and our families are here to celebrate Thanksgiving. We share with in-laws :O)and they come here after. It works. Today’s card is a shaker card for a special birthday young man. I’ve used a couple of new items: two new to me & one new in the Jan-Apr 2023 Mini Catalog: the Let’s Celebrate Embossing Folder and the Fabulous Frames Dies are both new items for me. The By the Bay 6×6 Specialty DSP is also new to Jan-April 2023 Mini Catalog and is gorgeous!

Stampin' Up! By the Bay 6x6 Sp DSP Shaker card

This DSP looks so ‘beachy’ to me so I’ve used Sahara Sand card stock to create the frame using the Fabulous Frames Dies. And the Let’s Celebrate Embossing Folder was used for just this sentiment. I cut it way down just for this. I should have taken more pictures 😖… Anyhoo… the By the Bay 6×6 Specialty DSP was adhered to a Sahara Sand card base so it encompassed the full front of the card. To secure the window sheet to the inside of the frame, I used Tear n’ Tape all around the frame, then put the window sheet in place, then the Foam Adhesive strips were adhered to that. I attached the ‘frame’ to the card front just at the bottom, then sprinkled in a few Effervescent Elements and secured the rest of the frame in place. The sentiment was adhered just to the frame. Very masculine, don’t you think?

I kept the inside really simple ‘cuz I have some special things I want to write. 😏 I adhered a strip of the very same By the Bay 6×6 Specialty DSP along the left side to a Basic White panel – and called it done. I kept the envelope simple as well – another strip of the same By the Bay 6×6 Specialty DSP, just wider, to the left edge of the envelope. I really do like the masculinity of this card.
