Stampin’ Up! Rainbow of Happiness with Sunshine & Rainbows

Good 2022! It’s snowing here in New Jersey… temps dropped from 68 degrees yesterday to 26 degrees. YIKES, that’s a big drop in temps. The other day I promised to show more of the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP (FREE with Sale-a-bration which begins Jan 4!) and I’ve paired it with the coordinating Rainbow of Happiness bundle. So cheerful & fun! AND… today being Jan 4, 2022 – you can get this NOW… ‘cuz the Jan – Jun 2022 Mini Catalog has gone L-I-V-E! WooHoo! Today’s card is another thank you card.

Rainbow of Happiness w/ Sunshine & Rainbows.1

Isn’t this fun? There are so many cute stamps & dies in this Rainbow of Happiness bundle! Here’s what I did… I took a Sunshine & Rainbows 6×6 DSP and cut it by marking 1″ over on two opposite corners., then turning the paper to the left and doing the same. Then I cut those pieces along the lines. The green piece of DSP is the result of those cuts. LOVE the cut! I adhered that to a panel of Basic White cut 4 x 5 1/4. I took another piece of the Sunshine & Rainbows DSP cut 2 3/4 x 3 1/2 and lined it up with the right angle of the green panel and matching it along the bottom of that same green panel of DSP. I adhered that piece to the Basic White panel. There was extra overlapping pieces & I removed those so it was even with the Basic White panel. I then took a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock and with the Brilliant Rainbows Dies, die cut the fun pattern of small rainbows. I adhered that across the bottom of the panel with dots of liquid glue. (I KEPT all the little die cut pieces to use for the inside 😏) Using the Rainbows & Sunshine stamp set, I stamped the design on the Basic White piece: So Saffron ink, Pool Party ink, Misty Moonlight ink. With Misty Moonlight Ink, I stamped a portion of the sentiment -you make me – on another piece of the Sunshine & Rainbows 6×6 DSP & fussy cut it. I stamped the remaining word – happy – on another portion of the same DSP and die cut it with one of the cloud dies in the Brilliant Rainbows Dies. Put these on dimensionals and add to the card front.For an added touch I adhered three Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels near the sentiment. These are a NEW ITEM in the Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog that goes live Jan 4. This panel was now ready to adhere to a slightly larger piece – So Saffron – with liquid glue. Dimensionals were placed on the back and the card front was done.

For the inside…

I die cut the bottom of this Basic White piece with the same rainbows die from the Brilliant Rainbows Dies. I added this to the inside of the card base with liquid glue then attached what was left to the bottom. Remember all those Bermuda Bay pieces from the card front? Add those with liquid glue and you have this fun rainbow effect. Stamp the sentiment (thank you) in Misty Moonlight ink. And Voila! the inside is done!!

The envelope…

For the envelope flap, I attached various scraps from the original piece of 6×6 DSP. For the envelope front, I stamped the lines in Pool Party ink and the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink. Finis! Stampin’ Up! New Horizons 6×6 DSP with After the Storm Sympathy

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Did you stay up until midnight to bring in the new year? Here’s to a year of better health for all. Jan. 4 means the new Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog goers live for customers. Today I’m showcasing the New Horizons 6×6 DSP that is in this catalog. It is stunning ~ so different. I’ve created two sympathy cards with this DSP: same format but rearranged somewhat. Let’s take a peek.

Isn’t this DSP stunning? These two cards have been created for a woman and her adult daughter whose husband and father passed away just prior to Christmas. He loved to paint and the family loves color, mostly purple and pinks, and this seemed perfect for this. The sentiment on the card at left comes from the After the Storm stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink on a Basic White strip then punched with the Label Me Fancy Punch. Love the fonts in this set!

Left card: after adhering the DSP to Fresh Freesia card stock, I wrapped a length of Open Weave Ribbon in Soft Succulent around both pieces & tied a knot. I then attached the sentiment with dimensionals & added three Garden Gems in green to the banner. This panel was then added to a prepared card base with dimensionals: Thick Basic White with Blackberry Bliss adhered with liquid glue. The card front was now complete!

Right card: DSP was added to Blackberry Bliss card stock with liquid glue; wrapped with a length of Open Weave Ribbon in Fresh Freesia and tied with a knot. The sentiment was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink on a Basic White piece using the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set. It was die cut with the Layering Circles Dies and three Garden Gems in the green were added. This was adhered to a scalloped layer of Blackberry Bliss die cut with the Layering Circles Dies. This sentiment circle was attached with dimensionals over the ribbon. I also stamped three birds in Evening Evergreen ink using the After the Storm stamp set. For the background layer, I stamped the large clouds from the After the Storm stamp set, mimicking the pattern on the DSP: Polished Pink at the top, then Blackberry Bliss followed by Evening Evergreen and finally Misty Moonlight. Here’s a photo of that panel.

This panel was then added to the Soft Succulent card base and the top panels added with dimensionals – and this card front was complete.

For the insides of these two cards…

I used After the Storm stamp set for both of these cards on the inside: Blackberry Bliss and Bumblebee inks for the card on the left; Polished Pink, Bumblebee and Blackberry Bliss for the card on the right. The birds were stamped in Misty Moonlight on this card.

For the envelopes I cut a panel each of the Blackberry Bliss and Soft Succulent card stocks and ran them through the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and adhered them to the envelope flaps.

Two very similar cards but different and I love them both. The DSP looks like a water scene to me, which is perfect since the man who passed away was a sailor :O)

Stampin’ Up! Rainbow of Happiness Fun Fold Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

This is the last Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop for 2021… and I cannot believe it. Where did 2021 go? Despite all the challenges during the year, it has gone F-A-S-T and I think there may have been a couple of times when it felt as though I was off the ‘merry-go-’round’. Lately I have been computer challenged. I don’t know what went wrong b ut I was locked out of my computer. I could text and that was about it. Wierd… but now, well, it seems to be ok again. Let’s hope for that!

Today’s hop is all about fun folds. Let’s take a look at what we’ve got.

I had fun creating today’s card. I haven’t been in my craft room for a couple of days; we had family here and my craft room is also a bedroom :O). Needless to say, the room was being used by our granddaughter and we loved having her here – and the rest of the family too BTW! but it did limit my productivity :o) Having the computer go on the blitz just prior to their arrival didn’t help matters any. 😩

The theme as you saw above is a fun fold – and this is a super easy one. It’s similar to a card within a card, with a hole in the middle of the card front.

As I said, super easy to create.

Card base is So Saffron card stock 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4
Designer Series Paper is Sunshine & Rainbows 6 x 6 DSP cut to 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 adhered directly to the card front. (This DSP is free with a $50 order beginning Jan 4 from the new Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog) hint, hint.
Die cut the center with the Tailor Made Tag Dies. (You could use the Layering Circles Dies and a different stamp set for a completely different look.)
Die cut the cute rainbow & tag using the Brilliant Rainbow Dies. Reserve the cutouts for the rainbow in this small die!
Cut a panel of Basic White card stock 5 1/4 x 8 1/4 and score at 4. (This will become your inner panels with the fold on the right.)
Place the ‘liner’ on the inside of the card without adhering it to the inside of the card. Adhere the ‘tag’ to the ‘front’ of the inner card piece. Remember, the inner liner fold is on the right. Decorate.
- Adhere the tag cut from the card front using the Tailor Made Tag Dies. (I did this by laying the inner panel on the inside of the card, closed the card front over this [the die cut opening will show]) and attached the die cut with Stampn’ Seal. This will allow the tag to ‘fit in’ the die cut of the card front :O) Add the ribbon by tying it in a knot and cutting fairly short so the card easily opens/ closes. The ribbon is Just Jade Open Weave Ribbon.
- Stamp the sentiment from the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set in Magenta Madness ink on a Basic White panel. Die cut with the small rainbow ‘tag’ die from the coordinating Brilliant Rainbow dies. Reserve the rainbow cutouts!
- Adhere this stamped rainbow ‘tag’ with dimensionals to the die cut tag with the DSP on it. Color the rainbow cutouts with Stampin Blends: Dark Magenta Madness, Dark So Saffron, Dark Pool Party and Petal Pink Marker for the smallest. Adhere behind the rainbow die cut with just dabs of liquid glue. I used tweezers to hold and place easily.
Stamp randomly around the larger tag with the thank you stamp from Rainbow of Happiness stamp set in various ink colors: So Saffron, Petal Pink, Pool Party, and Magenta Madness.
Open the card insert and stamp the rainbow: Magenta Madness & So Saffron inks – of course using the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set.
Stamp the rainbow pattern in Pool Party ink and the sentiment in Petal Pink ink.
Stamp the hearts from the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set in Magenta Madness ink.
Adhere this panel to the inside of the card, lining up the card front tag hole, then closing the card to adhere. Works like a charm! And voila… the card is finished!

For the envelope, I stamped the lines in Pool Party ink and the sentiment in So Saffron ink. I added more Sunshine & Rainbow 6×6 DSP to the envelope flap and called it done.

Here’s a photo of the stamp set and coordinating dies, plus both sides of the DSP. This is such fun paper… lively colors and fun designs. I have several thank you cards to make and think this stamp set/ dies/ DSP are going to fit that need!

Stampin’ Up! Fun Mini PP Packaging

Knowing for whom you are creating a gift makes the creating so much easier – and fun, at least for me. What it does, is put a smile on my face thinking of how the person will receive it :O) Here’s the Mini Paper Pumpkin box packaging…

I began by covering the Mini Paper Pumpkin box with basic Gray card stock, then a panel of Heart & Home 12 x 12 DSP (yes, this is new in the Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog). I then added one of the very sweet (& NEW) Heart & Home Doilies, also in Basic Gray, adhering that with Stampin’ Seal just in the center. I stamped the floral bouquet in Basic Gray ink (from the Blessings of Home stamp set – also new in the same catalog!)and colored the image with various Watercolor Pencils: Garden Green, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo. There is something relaxing for me in doing this :O) I then took a Blender Pen and moved some of the pencil color around, which gave it a bit of watercolor look. I used the coordinating Flowers of Home Dies (yep – new too) to die cut the bouquet. I put several min i dimensionals on the back and adhered it over the doily. I tied a pretty bow using the Glittered Organdy Ribbon in White and added it with a glue dot. For a little glam, I added three 2021-2023 In Color Jewels and the box top was done! I love this wood grain paper!

And what went in the box you ask? Well, note cards of course :O) And the very top one coordinates with the box.

As you can clearly see, I used the same design idea as the Mini PP Box top on a Basic White Note card. The difference is in the stamping and coloring of the floral bouquet. I stamped the image (from Blessings of Home stamp set) in Misty Moonlight ink. I then colored the two larger flowers with a sponge dauber tapped in the Misty Moonlight ink pad and gently pulled the color from the inside of the flower to the outside of the flower. Because the image is small, I then used the Watercolor Pencils for the small flowers (Balmy Blue), Daffodil Delight pencil for the flower centers and Garden Green pencil for the leaves. The ribbon comes from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack using the Misty Moonlight and Silver, and was attached with a glue dot. For the sentiment, I taped off a portion of the stamp from the Blessings of Home stamp set inked it, removed the tape and stamped the Thank You in Basic Gray ink. Done.

I added a bit of tissue to the inside of the Mini PP box, and slipped in the card. I had two other note cards previously posted, that I slipped in as well.

All of these note cards were created with the Blessings of Home stamp set, coordinating Flowers of Home Dies (10% off when purchased as a bundle Jan 4, 2022!) and the Heart & Home 12 x 12 DSP (also available Jan 4, 2022) Love how this set came together and it’s already been gifted :O)

Stampin’ Up! Friendly Hello 12 x 12

WooHoo, it’s Saturday… and in just a week it’s Christmas! It seems like yesterday was September. Today is a sneak peek at another pattern in the Friendly Hello 12 x 12 DSP pack. It is in the new January to June 2022 Mini Catalog and will be available Jan 3, 2022. The color of this is Fresh Freesia – so vibrant and wonderful. And I’ve used Forever Flourishing Dies to create the spray as I think it coordinates quite well with the paper. You can see I die cut one in Basic White and another in Vellum.

Here’s my card:

I’ve used the Forever Blossoms stamp set for the sentiment stamped in Memento Black ink and added Playing with Patterns Resin Dots to accent. I really like this leaf spray with the paper. And the DSP is layered on a Fresh Freesia panel, then adhered to the Thick Basic White card base with Stampin’ Seal. The leaves are added with dabs of liquid glue under the leaves, but keeping the spray fairly loose.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the leaves in Fresh Freesia ink after stamping the center sentiment in Memento Black ink. Both come from the Friendly Hello stamp set, which will be available Jan 3, 2022. And the Basic White panel is adhered to another piece of Fresh Freesia card stock.

For the envelope, I stamped the same leaf pattern from the Friendly Hello stamp set in Fresh Freesia ink on the envelope front and added more of the same Friendly Hello 12 x 12 DSP to the envelope flap.

The July–December 2021 Mini Catalog will be retiring soon! It’s always bittersweet to see a classic Stampin’ Up! catalog take a trip to retirement. But, we’re looking forward to all the new products on their way—and we hope you are, too!

Stampin’ Up! Friendly Hello

Hello and happy Friday! Today’s card is a cheery Friendly Hello birthday card – again using new products from Sale-a-bration AND the new January to June 2022 Mini Catalog. I call these ‘teasers’, ‘cuz they tease you into wanting more and patiently (or not) waiting to get your hands on new products. :O) They will be available Jan. 3, 2022. As a demonstrator, I am privileged to be able to purchase new product before it becomes available to the public: to play, create , inspire.

The stamp set (Friendly Hello) comes from the Sale-a-bration catalog and is a FREE item when purchasing $50 worth of product. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the J-J 2022 Mini Catalog. This color is Granny Apple Green. The stamp set is created as a duplicate of some of the images of this paper pack. And you can see here that I utilized it on these flowers, then colored them with Stampin’ Blends (Soft Sea Foam and Granny Apple Green). The image was stamped using Memento Black ink.

Once stamped and colored I mounted it on a panel of Granny Apple Green card stock with a very narrow border. I then tied a length of Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon around both pieces & tied a knot. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black ink on a Basic White strip then die cut it with as die from All Dressed Up Dies. I added two Matte Decorative Dots to each end of the die cut, put dimensionals on the back and adhered it over the ribbon. I added a glue dot under the knot to hold it in place. This completed panel was adhered to the Thick Basic White card front with Stampin’ Seal – and the front was complete.

I added a strip of the same Friendly Hello 12 x 12 DSP near the bottom of the card, then stamped this sweet floral ‘bouquet’ in Memento Black ink above it. Again, I mounted it to a panel of Granny Apple Green card stock, then into the inside of the card – and voila! the card is done…

For the envelope, I added more of this bright Friendly Hello 12 x 12 DSP to the flap, then stamped the same floral bouquet to the front of the envelope. Finis! Here is a photo of the stamp set & the bright glorious papers.

Stampin’ Up! Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hello folks! It’s getting toward the end of the week, again… how is it that the days slip by so quickly? So here we are at the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop and I’m excited to share a sneak peek of new product: Crane of Fortune and the Good Fortune Dies + gorgeous Symbols of Fortune 12 x 12 SDSP (Specialty Designer Series Paper) + (yes, PLUS) Brushed Brass Butterflies (eek! These are gorgeous!)

Here’s my card… and the challenge for today’s hop.

This is a distinctive stamp set and just beautiful with the crane. Notice how it’s walking on water? :O) Because of the challenge I needed to bring in Misty Moonlight, so there ya go… The background paper is some of the Symbol of Fortune 12 x 12 SDSP. It’s Specialty because there’s gold on one side of each sheet ~ and it is beautiful. Here it is…

All of these products are new in the Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog. If you do not have a demonstrator and need a copy of this catalog + the Sale-a-bration catalog (Jan4-Feb 28), let me know and I’ll send one to you. OK, on to the info about my card… more info toward the end of this post.

The card base is Thick Basic White. Layered on that is Soft Succulent with the Crane of Fortune SDSP, just slightly smaller. These were all adhered together with Stampin’ Seal. I stamped the crane in Crumb Cake ink on a Basic White scrap, then die cut it with the appropriate die from the Good Fortune Dies. I then stamped just the Well-Wishes from one of the stamps in the Crane of Fortune stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink. I did this by taping off the words I did not want inked, inked the stamp, then removed the tape, THEN stamped it on a Basic White strip. I stamped the little puddle, also in Misty Moonlight ink, right next to the words. And yes, the puddle is also a part of the Crane of Fortune stamp set. I put dimensionals on the strip and adhered it to the card front, aligning it to the left edge of the Soft Succulent. I put dimensionals on the die cut crane, except for the feet, and adhered it above the sentiment. (You could add liquid glue to the feet prior to attaching it to the card front as they ‘rest on’ the sentiment strip.) This makes it look as though the crane is stepping in the puddle :O) I then added these precious Brushed Brass Butterflies, 3 of them and the card front was complete.

For the inside, I adhered a piece of the same Symbols of Fortune SDSP near the bottom of the Basic White panel. I then stamped the dragonflies in Evening Evergreen ink from the Crane of Fortune stamp set.

While I was at it, I stamped dragonflies in Evening Evergreen ink to the envelope front and added more of the same Symbols of Fortune SDSP to the flap ~ and the card was done! Easy peasy…

I really, really had fun playing with this set and can’t wait to play more. Here’s the finished card, complete with the envelope.

Stampin’ Up! Sneak Peek Slimline Card Dies

Hello! It’s Sunday Dec 12! Can you believe it? Where did November ~ and maybe October go? Somehow, here we are mid December and well, I just can’t believe it. Today’s card is made with a new product from the Jan-June 2022 Mini Catalog. Really??? 2022??? What?! I feel so fortunate to be a demonstrator with Stampin’ Up! I have the opportunity to order new products and p-l-a-y. :O) Here ya go…

Products used:

Bloom Where Planted DSP
Ornate Thanks stamp set
Slimline Card Dies -~ new item!
Classic Matte Dots
Basic Black cs
Real Red cs
Basic White cs
Memento Black ink

Basic Instructions:

Cut Basic Black cs 7 x 8 1/2 and score at 3 1/2
Cut Bloom Where Planted DSP 3 3/8 x 8 3/8
With Slimline Card dies, die cut chevron pattern from Real Red cs 3 3/8 x 8 3/8 (this trims down after die cutting)
Place this die cut over the DSP and with Stamparatus, place sentiments, then remove die cut chevron, stamp with Tuxedo Memento ink
Adhere chevron with liquid glue to the DSP panel.
Adhere DSP panel to Basic Black card base.
Add Classic Matte Dots in Black.

For the inside:

cut a panel of Real Red cs 3 3/8 x 8 3/8, adhere to inside of card base
Cut a panel of Basic White cs 3 3/8 x 8 1/4. Die cut with Slimline Card Die decorative die for a fun edge. Adhere to Real red panel
Run a strip of Basic White cs through the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to the die cut Basic White panel, trimming edge
Stamp sentiment from Ornate Thanks in Memento Black ink just below the embossed strip. Add a Classic Matte Dot
Adhere Basic White panel (now completed) to the Real red piece

For the envelope:

The envelope is an A 10 size and a slimline card fits beautifully inside. Stampin’ Up! has Slimline Envelopes in the new Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog, but I wanted a red envelope to use for this :O)
Stamp the sentiment from Ornate Thanks stamp set in Memento Black ink to the envelope front.
Add a dot (or three) with a Black marker

And here’s a photo of the dies that come in this set. Aren’t they fun? Really, I can’t wait to keep playing with these dies! Maybe, just maybe, I’ll make several days of playing with this set. :O)

Stampin’ Up! Ornate Thanks for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Krew Thursday Blog Hop! We have a fun challenge for today and I’ve created a thank you card with a beautiful poinsettia for a dear friend.

And here’s my card.

This card is for a musical friend – can you see the use of the Merry Melody Embossing Folder? And yes, there’s also Tasteful Textile embossing folder in the foreground. Looking at the card like this, I could have used another layer of Real red card stock behind the Merry Melody EF, but I do like the card as it is. And without the poinsettia, it would be very clean & simple.

Instruction basics:

Card based is 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2.
Layer a panel of Pattern Party DSP 4 1/4 x 5 12, adhering it to the card front.
Place a piece of Basic White card stock through the Merry Melody EF and cut to 3 x 4 1/4 and adhere.
Using Tasteful Textile 3D EF, run another piece of Basic White through the machine and trim to 2 1/8 x 4 3/8.
Layer a piece of Real Red card stock behind this panel (2 1/4 x 4 1/4), adhering together. Place on dimensionals and center on the card front.
Stamp two poinsettia using Poinsettia Petals stamp set and Sahara Sand ink on a Basic White piece and die cut both with the Poinsettia Dies. Adhere together with a dimensional and add to the card with liquid glue.
Stamp the sentiment from Ornate Thanks in Real Red ink on a Basic White scrap and fussy cut.
Adhere the sentiment to a Basic Black panel (1/2 x 2 1/4)
Put Stampin’ Seal+ on the back of the Basic Black strip and add the Sheer Ribbon in Real Red. Put dimensionals over the ribbon and add to the card front. Voild – the card front is complete.

Ornate Thanks w/ Poinsettia Petals, inside

For the inside… Red and black are dramatic together, so I played on that by making the inside smaller pieces of card stock: Real Red is 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 while the Basic White is 3 x 3 3/4. The sentiments were stamped using the Ornate Thanks stamp set & Memento Black ink.

For the envelope, I ran a 2 1/4 x 6 piece of Basic White through the Merry Melody 3D EF again and adhered it to the envelope flap, & trimmed to fit. All done!
