SU! Playful Alphabet Dies Fun Fold

Hi Y’all… I’m on a roll here with the baby cards AND the Playful Alphabet Dies AND the Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP. My goal is five cards with papers all from the same stash but totally different style, fold, etc. So far I think I have been successful. Here is today’s card ~ a Gate Fold

Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP

After looking at it (again and again!), I think it needs another layer behind the banner ~ may have to do that… For the time being, here’s how this card is made…

Calypso Coral cs cut to 4 1/4 x 11 then scored at 2 3/4 and 8 1/4. Add a layer of Coastal Cabana cs to each front panel, 2 5/8 x 4 1/8. (You could easily make this 2 1/2 x 4). Cut two additional panels, this time in Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP. These two panels were each 2 x 4. Adhere, centering, to the side panels. Cut a label using the Tasteful Labels Dies. (Gosh, I use these so much – they are very versatile). With the Playful Alphabet Dies cut the letters B-O-Y from Whisper White and adhere to the label with liquid glue.Adhere the Coastal Cabana label only on the left front panel. Add five Playing with Patterns Resin Dots and your card front is done.

The inside is easy peasy… Coastal Cabana layer 4 x 5 1/4, then Whisper White 3 3/4 x 5. Add a strip of the Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP that coordinates and bingo, the card is complete!

The envelope…  Simply adhere a 2 14 x 6 panel of the Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP. Voila! Card #3 in this ‘baby bundle’ for our daughter to give as a gift to the new mother. In case you missed the last two posts, here are photos of those…

SU! Waterfall Card with Playful Alphabet Dies

Hi Everyone! Yesterday I told you my task is to create several baby cards for my daughter’s girlfriend.Today’s card is another to add to that gift set and it uses the Playful Alphabet Dies AND the Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP. I did absolutely no stamping on this project but it is a new fun type card I haven’t made before. It’s called a waterfall card ~ here ’tis…

Playful Alphabet Dies
#1

This is pretty easy and I’ll talk you through it then do a very short video of how it works. The card base is Purple Posey 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. Cut Misty Moonlight 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 and adhere to the card front. Cut a panel of Playing with Patterns DSP 4 x 5 1/4 and adhere to the Misty Moonlight. Cut a Misty Moonlight strip 1 1/2 x 8 and score at 1 1/2, 2 1/4, 3, and 3 3/4. Burnish.  Cut four (4) 1 1/2 squares out of Bumblebee cs. Cut three (3)  1 3/8 squares out of coordinating Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP. Cut one (1) 1 3/8 square out of Whisper White. With your Playful Alphabet Dies, die cut the letters B-O-Y out of that Whisper White Square.  This was a tight squeeze but it did work. Adhere this Whisper White to one of the yellow squares. From the die cuts, I chose to adhere the letter B, the middle of the O and left the Y to show through. Adhere this panel to the square on the 1 1/2 x 8 strip, JUST UNDER THE FOLD LINE (not on it!).Place a strip of Tear n Tape to the bottom of this panel on the back side of the Misty moonlight. Adhere the next Bumblebee square with Tear n Tape JUST UNDER THE NEXT SCORE LINE.  Continue adhering the last two squares in this same manner.

The purpose of adhering the squares just under the score line is to allow them to ‘fall’ into place as you pull the strip. Make sense?  Here are individual pictures of the placement.

Take a peek at this video. to watch it unfold.

Cut a strip of Misty Moonlight 1/2 x 4 and a coordinating 3/8 x 4 strip of Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP. Adhere the DSP to the Misty moonlight. Remember the Tear n Tape at the bottom of the panel with the word B-O-Y? Adhere to the front of this strip, in the center,  and bottom of the strip. Now lay flat on your card but do not yet adhere. Take a peek at this picture… the long blue section is UNDERNEATH the strip while the B-O-Y piece is adhered to the bottom of the cross strip. Get it?

Waterfall card
Playful Alphabet Dies
#2

Once you determine the correct placement of the waterfall/ cross strip, adhere Tear n Tape to the cross strip but not across the waterfall strip. The waterfall needs to slide through the opening smoothly but there should not be too much room for sideways movement. Punch a hole about 1/4″ up from the bottom of the pull strip and insert a length of ribbon  – probably 7″  before folding in half.  This becomes your cute “pull” for the waterfall. I used Daffodil Delight 1/4″ as I forgot I had Bumblebee 1/4″, but it worked!

Now do the inside… super simple… Misty Moonlight 4 x 5 1/4, Whisper White 3 7/8 x 5 3/8. A
dd a strip of coordinating  Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP and adhere to the inside.

#6

The envelope flap has coordinating Playing with Patterns DSP and that’s it! Voila! Such a FUN CARD to make. I hope you try it…

SU! Pattern Play Stamp Set and Playful Alphabet Dies

Hi Everyone! Ever have one of those mornings when you can’t sleep anymore? Yep, this was one of those. A little after 4 AM and my eyes were wide open. What to do? (as if there was any question!) Make a card!!! Yesterday I was talking with our daughter and her neighbor just had a baby boy. I said I would make some cards she could give her friend ~ and here’s the first one.

Foam Adhesive Sheets are the best for doing these letters – it was so easy… just adhere the foam adhesive to the back of your card stock, lay on your die cut piece and run it through your die cutting machine. I ran it through twice cause I wanted to be certain it cut through. And here’s a TIP: only adhere the foam adhesive to your designated area for cutout to avoid waste.

Here’s how to make this card…

  • Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP ~ stripe is cut 1 1/2 x 5; large dots is cut 2 x 4
  • The Bumblebee is cut 1/8″ larger both in length and width
  • Misty Moonlight is cut 1/8″ larger both in length and width of the Bumblebee
  • The front stamped panel is 2 1/2 x 3 with Bumblebee 1/8″ larger and Misty Moonlight 1/8 larger than the Bumblebee
  • Adhere Foam Adhesive to a strip of DSP; die cut letters appropriately
  • I should have stamped the 2 1/2 x 3 Whisper White panel all over – so do that – THEN adhere the die cut letters. The stamping here was done with Bumblebee and centers colored with Purple Posy marker.
  • Card base is Purple Posy 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4: adhere all panels

The inside was super easy ~ Misty Moonlight 4 x 5 1/4; Whisper White 3 7/8 x 5 1/8. Stamp the Whisper White with Misty Moonlight and adhere to Misty Moonlight then to the inside of the card. Voila! Your card is ready…

Pattern Play stamp set
#2

For the envelope, adhere a panel of the Playing with Patterns 6×6 DSP to the envelope flap, trim. Stamp the front of the envelop with Misty Moonlight and you are all finished.

SU! Boho Indigo Product Medley

Hi Everyone… did you miss me yesterday? I made a card and it got snatched up by another member of the household and SENT!  No photos to show for it… but it got out in record time so I’ll have to make something similar another day. For today, I’m using the best ever BOHO INDIGO PRODUCT MEDLEY. Love, love, love – just sayin’. I’m not usually ‘into’ the medleys, but this one is fantabulous!!!

In addition to the Boho Indigo Product Medley, additional products were Stitched Rectangles Dies, Linen Thread, Misty Moonlight ink/ cs, Magenta Madness ink, Pear Pizzazz ink, Very Vanilla  cs and  Crumb Cake cs for the card base. I could probably stop right there and you could figure out the rest… 😏 … but I’ll give a few more details ‘cuz someone just may want them.

SU! Boho Indigo Product Medley

Hi Everyone… My box for this fantabulous product medley came some time ago and I simply had to wait to open it until I had played with many of the other new products that arrived – all at the same time! Let me say – this medley is OVER THE TOP! Gorgeous, gorgeous papers, fun stamp set and coordinating dies, two ribbons, adorable little paper flowers, stickers. Just. plain. wonderful… Today’s card uses many of the products in this medley – here ’tis.

First of all, I love blue/ white together – this is blue/ very vanilla, but no matter – the papers are wonderful, a nice variety of design. I need to make a masculine card and there are papers in this pack that will be perfect. Here’s what I did…

Cut a panel of one of the Very Vanilla embossed papers included in the medley and adhere to the center of the Night of Navy card base. Cut a panel from one of the papers from this medley using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I cut another piece of Night of Navy to adhere to the DSP as to me, it needs a bit of strength when used the way this is. These were adhered witgh liquid glue as well, but only in the center, not on the ends extending beyond the embossed piece. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy on one of the labels included in the kit. ( I made a booboo when stamping on the right side of the sticker, so I just turned it over! Then it needed a bit of dressing up…) I adhered three Holiday Rhinestone Gems and put the label on dimensionals and set it aside.

I stamped the sweet flower from Last A Lifetime stamp set, then colored it with several Stampin’ Blends: Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade (dark only) and Bronze for the flower center. I then die cut the flower with the matching dies, Lasting Elegance Dies. This I adhered with liquid glue to the label, then added dimensionals to the portion over-hanging the label. I cut a length of the ribbon from the medley, Frayed Grosgrain Very Vanilla/ Gold 1/4″, added a bit of Tear n Tape to the back and attached it to the DSP. I adhered the flower and label and the card front was done!

For the inside, I used one of the gorgeous corner dies to die cut two corners from a panel of Very Vanilla cs – Lasting Elegance Dies. This I adhered to the Night of Navy inside panel of the card and the card was complete…

For the envelope, I adhered the same DSP from the Boho Indigo Product medley to the envelope flap. I then stamped a vase from the Boho Indigo stamp set in Night of Navy. Then I stamped the sweet set of three flowers in Mango Melody so it looked like a bouquet. Voila..

What do you think? I love this medley and can’t wait to sit down and create, create, create…

SU! Forever Fern and Forever Flourish Dies

Hi Everyone! Some days just do not go as planned – what can I say… I have a beautiful card for you, one using those gorgeous Forever Gold Laser-Cut SDSP pieces, Gold Hoops Embellishments, and several die cuts. It was so fun to layer these pieces , adhering was really easy too.

Forever Fern stamp set
Forever Flourishing Dies
#1

I started with a piece of Just Jade cs and one of the rectangles in the Forever Gold Laser-Cut SDSP, keeping the gold side up and adhering with Stampin Seal where the wreath was going. I die cut a leaf from the the Forever Flourish Dies in Whisper White and another in Soft Sea Foam. Then I stamped several leaves from the Forever Fern stamp set on Whisper White with these inks: Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green, Gorgeous Grape, and Shaded Spruce – and die cut them. I also pulled out gold berries and a leaf garland from the SDSP.

Forever Fern stamp setForever Flourishing Dies

I began the layering with the Whisper White leaves first, then the Soft Sea Foam then the Gold Hoops Embellishments. Next was the Pear Pizzazz going up, the Garden Green going down, then Gorgeous Grape followed by the gold berries. On top of that was the Shaded Spruce leaf the the garland spray on the white side. Each of these was adhered with either liquid glue or a glue dot… and I slipped in dimesnionals under some of the leaves to keep them raised a bit. What ribbon to use – I tried several and settled on. the Magenta Madness 1/4″ ribbon which really adds some zing.

This entire panel was adhered to Pear Pizzazz cs then onto Thick Whisper White card base, using liquid glue each time. The card front was now complete and I love the look!

Forever Fern stamp set

Inside I took another panel of Pear Pizzazz and adhered it with liquid glue. On the Whisper White panel, I stamped  the leaf in Pear Pizzazz, stamping off at least once. Then I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape. This was adhered with liquid glue to the Pear Pizzazz and the card was complete.

Forever Fern stamp set

For the envelope… Forever Greenery DSP was adhered to the flap. The leaf for the front got some extra treatment 😏… With sponge daubers, Pear Pizzazz and Shaded Spruce inks, daub in various places for coloring, then stamp on the envelope. Makes it look just like the DSP on the flap… ta da! Isn’t that an awesome look? And so easy!!!

SU! Prized Peony and Peony Dies

Hi Everyone – hot this morning already and it’s not even 6 AM – ugh… One big advantage we have is shade in our back yard and often we have a breeze. We like being outside, and I may have said this before, but the sun does not do me any favors. My skin is fair and oh my, I burn in a heartbeat. No tanning for me! I just burn… Why am I telling you all this I wonder – hmmm.

Today’s card uses that awesomely handsome die cut peony that was an extra in yesterday’s post and I hope you like it.

Gosh, I’m sorry for the darkness of this photo… but you CAN see the peony. Please go back to review how I put it together in yesterday’s post. What I did differently is I gave it much more dimension by adding dimensionals between the layers. What a difference – love, love the finished product! Here’s a top view. The dimensionals are adhered only on one side, not both. I didn’t want the peony stuck, just ballooned a bit. Make sense? I also covered the peony in Wink of Stella 😏

Peony Dies
#2

And what do you think of the background? Isn’t that Forever Gold Laser-Cut SDSP GORGEOUS! And you are so right, it isn’t gold… I flipped it to the other side, which is white.

Items needed to complete this project…

  • Forever Gold Laser-Cut SDSP
  • Peony Dies
  • Prized Peony stamp set
  • Elegant Faceted Gems
  • Lovely Labels Pick-a-Punch
  • Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack – Whisper Whiter 1/2″ Faux Linen
  • Beauty Abounds stamp set – sentiments
  • Rococo Rose ink and cs
  • Pear Pizzazz cs – body of leaves, 3
  • Granny Apple Green cs – leaf shading, 3
  • Misty Moonlight cs – 2 panels
  • Thick Whisper White cs and regular Whisper White
  • Memento Black ink – butterfly

Here’s the how to..

Die cut the peony in Rococo Rose. Highlight in Whisper White Craft ink, then shade in various areas with Rococo Rose. Put the peony together and adhere with liquid glue at the bottom of each petal. Add dimensionals as shown to give the peony depth. Die cut a stamen from So Saffron and insert using liquid glue to adhere. Die cut the leaves as mentioned in the “items needed”. Use liquid glue, just a dot or two, to adhere the shading to the body of the leaf. Set these aside to prepare the card itself.

The card base is Thick Whisper White 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2. Adhere a panel of Misty Moonlight 4 x 5 1/4 to the card front and a panel 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 to the card inside. Adhere the laser cut panel with a bit of Stampin Seal just where the peony will be. Adhere the peony with liquid glue, then place the leaves before the glue dries, again using liquid glue. Curl the leaves just a bit to also give them dimension. Adhere a bow tied from the Whisper White !/2″ Faux Linen with a glue dot. This comes from the Flowers For Every Season Combo Pack.

Cut a 1/2″ strip of Whisper White, stamp the sentiment from Beauty Abounds stamp set in Rococo ink, trim the end with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Add three Elegant Faceted Gems to the label. Put dimesnionals on the label and add to the front of the card and trim the right end even with the card front. Neat!

The inside…

Stamp the sentiment first – this is done in Rococo Rose using the Beauty Abounds stamp set. Then stamp the peony in various places using the Prized Peony stamp set. Adhere to the Misty Moonlight panel and viola! Your card is complete…

The envelope..

Adhere a panel of the 2019-2021 In Color DSP to the envelope flap. Stamp the bubbles from the Beauty Abounds stamp set in Rococo ink. Stamp the butterfly from the same set in Memento Black ink. Done done done…

Stampin’ Up! Prized Peony, Peony Dies

Hello there!  Today’s card is another show-stopper (at least I think so) ~ the Peony Dies make it so simple! While I have created only one card, I have done two peonies 😏… When writing this post originally, I didn’t take photos of the step by step of putting these dies together, or some other things either. Since it was in my draft folder – I’ve revised a bit – so hope it isn’t too confusing!

Peony Dies
#1

Supplies needed for this card:

  • Rococo Rose ink
  • Sponge dauber
  • Thick Whisper White (card base), Whisper White (panel overlay)
  • Prized Peony stamp set
  • Peony Dies
  • Positive Thoughts stamp set (sentiments)
  • Stazon black ink (sentiments)
  • Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack ribbon – very vanilla
  • Pearl Basic Jewels
  • Bumblebee cs for the stamen

I began by using the edge die from the Peony Dies to create this gorgeous border on Whisper White panel 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, and set it aside. The dies in this set make putting together the peony so easy – it’s four dies that decrease in size that simply slip into one another, and then the stamen goes in last.

Die cut the four parts for the peony out of Whisper White cs. Here are the four dies, smallest to largest.

Peony Dies
#!a

Using a sponge dauber, color each of the edges with Rococo Rose. At first I wanted to use Petal Pink or maybe Blushing Bride, but neither one suited ~ the Petal Pink was too light and the Blushing Bride, just no. Rococo Rose it was. TIP: When using the sponge dauber, go down the sides of each petal as well as along the top. AND… I slipped a piece of scrap into the slice of the paper to color the lower portion of each petal.

Peony Dies #2a

Begin slipping in each petal making certain you have the coloring just the way you want it. It is MUCH easier to make adjustments  to the coloring as each petal goes together than if you try to do it later – just sayin’! Adhere the petals at the base as you go, with liquid glue. This next photo shows what points on the back side of the die cuts need to aligning.

Peony Dies #4a

The leaves are die cut from both Just Jade (background of the leaf) and Shaded Spruce for the detail portion. Adhere the peony with dimensionals, then add the leaves, adhering with liquid glue. When looking at the photo, notice I curled some of the leaves to make them three-dimensional. Leaves are never flat in nature!

Adhere the bow made from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack. Yes, it is very vanilla, but I love the look… kinda makes it look a bit country.

Peony Dies
#1

For the inside… stamp the medium peony from Prized Peony stamp set in Rococo Rose. Stamp the sentiment in Stazon Black ink.

Prized Peony
#2

For the envelope, stamp the medium peony all over the envelope flap, open ing the flap and letting the peony come into the main portion of the envelope. Then stamp again in the lower left corner. Stamping was done in Rococo Rose.

Peony Dies
#1

Now… here is the completed 2nd rose: cs is Rococo Rose; White Craft ink for highlighting and Rococo Rose for shading. The stamen is Soft Sea Foam.

Peony Dies

Kinda fun to see the contrast from Whisper White cs to the Rococo Rose cs, isn’t it? Happy stamping, happy creating…

SU! Back On Your Feet

Hi Everyone… HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! Woohoo ~ hope you are doing something special for that man in your life: a phone call, a hug, A CARD! Think of that? 😁

OK, today’s card… is NOT a Father’s Day card. Yep, probably should have… however…. let’s just get to it, shall we?

Back On Your Feet
#1

I have a confession… this is the first this has been inked ~ isn’t that sad? And the images are so CUTE! My neighbor burned her arm and this is so appropriate I could not resist. And the bandage around the arm – well, how perfect is that! Despite all that, this is a cheerful, colorful card that should put a smile on her face.

Supplies for this card…

  • Back On Your Feet stamp set
  • 2020-2022 In Color Ribbon – Magenta Madness
  • 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 DSP – Magenta Madness
  • 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots – Magenta Madness
  • Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack – Misty Moonlight/ Silver
  • Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • Gray Granite ink – sloth
  • Misty Moonlight ink and cs
  • Thick Whisper White, regular Whisper White

And here’s the how to…

First of all, let me say this is a CASE of a card made by Mary Fish: different papers, ribbon, stamp set, dies… but the layout is Mary’s and I love the way it turned out.

Cut a panel of Misty Moonlight 2 x 5 1/2 and adhere to Thick Whisper White 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. Cut a strip of 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 DSP 2 5 /8 x 4 and adhere to regular Whisper White panel 3 1/8 x 4. Cut a length of 2020-2022 In Color Ribbon and wrap aroung the Whisper White panel, adhering in back with Stampin Seal. Over this, wrap another ribbon, this time the Misty Moonlight/ Silver ribbon from the Flowers For Every Season Combo Pack, and attach with Stampin Seal (or tape!). Put dimesnionals on the back and adhere to the card front.

Stamp the sloth from Back On Your feet in Gray Granite. Stamp the sentiment in Misty Moonlight from the same stamp set. Cut with Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Color the bandage with Magenta Madness marker. Put dimesnional on this panel and adhere to the card front. Make a bow using thee 2020-2022 In Color Ribbon and the Misty Moonlight/ Silver from the
Flowers For Every Season Combo Pack and attach with a glue dot. Your card front is complete.

For the inside…

Back On Your Feet
#2

Stamp the sentiment from the Back On Your Feet stamp set in Misty Moonlight, taping off the lower portion of the sentiment when inking, then removing the tape prior to stamping on a Whisper White scrap. Stamp the additional word… SIGH… also from this stamp set and in Misty Moonlight. Add the three 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots over the dots of the stamp. Adhere the Whisper White to a 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 scrap, then attach to the card inside. DONE!

Now for the envelope…

Back On Your Feet
#3

Stamp the word OUCH! in Misty Moonlight from the Back On Your Feet stamp set. Cover the flap in a panel of 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 DSP. VIOLA… this card is ready for the giving or sending. It is sure to put a smile on someone’s face – how could someone not smile?

SU! Sunflower Dies and Flowers For Every Season 6×6 DSP

Hi Folks! How’s it going? It’s amazing how time slips by, Sat. already! Stores are beginning to open their doors here on the East coast and in a way, that’s a good thing. I worry about all those folks who have lost jobs and struggle just to put food on the table for their families. Ugh… I also worry about a resurgence of this nasty virus and we still know so little about it – not that scientists aren’t working to understand, they are. It’s a complicated disease.Sorry ~ I got off on a tangent… My card is a bright card: cheerful and colorful and just says “happy” looking at it. Let’s take a look…

The how to…

With liquid glue, adhere a 2 x 5 1/2 strip of the Flowers For Every Season 6×6 DSP to a 2 1/4 x 5 1/2  Poppy Parade, and attach this to a Whisper White panel 4 x 5 1/4. With the Sunflower Dies, die cut one sunflower, then just a half sunflower as well. Notice the petals are loose on the front. This creates wonderful layering and makes the flower more ‘real’. Adhere the half sunflower against the Poppy Parade strip, using liquid glue just in the center of the flower. Now adhere the full sunflower right over this, but just a bit to the left and not matching any of the petal shapes. Make sure the center portion of the flower is attached as well. Now die cut just the center of the flower out of Bumblebee cs and color it with the Mango Melody duo pack Blends. Adhere this over the center of the large flower. Now this flower looks very much like the flowers on the DSP. And to me… it looks more like a daisy than a sunflower! 😉 Stamp the sentiment from Celebrate Sunflowers in Just Jade; add three of the Clear Epoxy Droplets; put dimensionals on this completed panel and adhere to Thick Whisper White cs 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. Your card front is ready!

Now for the inside…

Sunflower Dies
#2

This  Whisper White panel is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. Die cut another sunflower from Whisper White using the Sunflower Dies, but this time, HAVE AN ADHESIVE SHEET ATTACHED TO IT. That’s right… then just peel that adhesive sheet right off the back, cut the flower to fit the corners and attach. Bingo – so EASY! No glueing all those petals and getting glue all over yourself. Ask me how I know that! Adhere this panel to the inside of your card with liquid glue and the card is complete.

The envelope…

I wanted this to be as striking and happy as the DSP.
