Stampin’ Up! Kraft Note Cards & Nature’s Harvest

Here it is Wednesday and in just two days I’ll be attending Stampin’ Up! Convention in Jacksonville. Of course a storm is headed there too… so I’m just a bit anxious. Keeping tabs on everything but definitely excited about the convention. It’s always a positive, upbeat experience. The atmosphere is ….. well, you gotta be there 😁

A couple of days ago I was using the Kraft Note Cards & Envelopes and there were two left in the package – so my thought was, use them! So I paired them with Nature’s Harvest stamp set & Memento ink.

The first card is done with a Water Painter & Whisper White Craft ink for the flower heads. They are definitely brighter & more intense in color. The stems and leaves are done with Watercolor Pencils. The second card is done with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen, so softer. And of course the Tailor Made Tag Die brings direct attention to the tag, not so much the flowers. I think I prefer the first card. The bow is Baker’s Twine Essential Pack, white. I cut a length and pulled the strands apart. It’s attached with a folded over glue dot. These cards are for someone moving, so the sentiments are perfect on both cards – and they come from the Nature’s Harvest stamp set.

Both of the insides of the Note Cards are the same: the small floral bouquet is from Nature’s Harvest stamp set stamped in Memento Black ink. The color blotch is also from Nature’s Harvest and is stamped in So Saffron ink. The Basic White panel was added with liquid glue and the card was complete.

For the envelope, I added a Subtles 6×6 DSP in So Saffron to the envelope flap and trimmed it to fit for both envelopes. So, tell me, do you have a preference on cards? Do you like one better than the other?

Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Treat Bags

Hello Friday! Christmas must be on my mind this week… Yesterday’s blog hop was a
Christmas Fun Fold, today is a very cute (well two) treat bag. Our out of town daughter came last weekend bringing her family and a couple of fun ‘gifties’. The laser-cut wooden stars were one of the treats and not a Stampin’ Up! product. As I was trying to decide what to do with them, she said she would like to use them in a window or on a tree… or something. Here’s what I did.

The paper is from – what else – the Sale-a-bration Catalog and is a FREE Item with a $50 purchase. You can get your hands. on this paper Jul 3!!! It’s called Silver & Gold 6×6 DSP. This is obviously the gold. And I’ve used ribbon from the Jul-Dec Mini Catalog: Real Red & Garden Green 3/8″ Ribbon Combo Pack. It’s part of a Suite of products called the Sweetest Christmas Suite on pages 9-11. Behind each star is a glimmer paper: Real Red & White 6×6 Glimmer Paper – also part of the Sweetest Christmas Suite. The Glimmer paper was die cut with Layering Circles Dies and added to a Basic White piece cut with Layering Circles Dies, but with a scallop. I slipped a White Baker’s Twine through the star, tied a knot and when tying the Real Red or Garden Green Ribbon, I slipped it in between to hold it in place.

Here’s how to do the treat bag.

6×6 piece of card stock or DSP, scored at the top: 1 3/8, 2 3/4, 4 1/8 & 5 1/2
Turn paper to right to score for the bottom: 1 3/8
Trim as shown in photo

Add Tear n Tape to narrow strip ~ see photo
Burnish score lines with fingers, fold in half along middle score line and seal after removing Tear n Tape covering.
Fold in bottom pieces and seal with Tear n Tape or adhesive of choice.
Pinch top together; tie ribbon around the top. This can just slip off to get to the treats inside :O)

Fun, right? The fun part about making a treat bag like this, is that it can be decorated to fit the occasion: hearts, banners stamped & layered ~ the possibilities are endless. It’s up to you. Would love to see your creations, so please share.

Stampin’ Up! Orchid Oasis Birthday

Happy Friday! At least, that’s the day I think it is… sometimes when a holiday gets in the mix, my days get all messed up. Does that happen to you? Life gets out of sequence and well, there it is. Today’s card is lots of Orchid Oasis. This is becoming one of my favorite new In Colors.

I’ve used the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Paper adhered to Basic White, put on dimensionals and added to the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper (also in Orchid Oasis) that was wrapped with the 2022-2024 In Color Baker’s Twine (yep, Orchid Oasis!). And yes, you can see I tied that twine in a bow at the left side. I like the texture it adds to the card. This piece also got dimensionals and was added to the Bermuda Bay card base. I stamped the sentiment also in Bermuda Bay ink on a Basic White panel. That sentiment comes from the Charming Sentiments Bundle and was die cut with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouette Dies. I put mini dimensionals on the back and added it to another piece of the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper. This was adhered with liquid glue to the card front. The final touch was the Solid Faceted Gems in Night of Navy. They add a different kind of sparkle to the card. L-O-V-E!

I kept the inside super simple – just a strip of the same 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Paper Pack added to the bottom of the Basic White panel, then adhered to the inside of the card.

More of the same 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Paper Pack was added to the envelope. What I love about this card is that it could so easily be a masculine card if needed. And those are sometimes hard to come by. I’ll post dimensions for the card cuts at the bottom of this post as well as the products to make this card. SU! Lovely You w/ Artistry Blooms DSP

Hello again! It’s raining here today and I have a meeting OUTSIDE tomorrow for 18 folks! Please pray it stops raining so I can get yard furniture dried and moved for physically distancing… This group hasn’t been together since March and we desperately need to see one another. We lost the president of our group recently (yes, to Covid-19) and we are anxious to share with one another that loss of a special woman. She was giving and caring, a gentle spirit, gracious, and laughter came easily to her. She will be greatly missed… I’ve gotten off track – pray for the rain to stop so we can gather together.

Today’s creation is… four creations – each the same and yet, well, not.

Card #1 is the base card – no dimensionals, no extras, just papers adhered to the card base and a sentiment – a perfect beginner card.DSP is adhered to the Whisper White panel, a strip added to cover the seam and stamped. Perfect for a beginner! The card base is Bermuda Bay; the strip is Night of Navy; sentiment stamped in Bermuda Bay.

Card #2 is only slightly different… DSP is adhered to a Whisper White panel, an strip isn added to cover the seam, then stamped. Now two additions: 1-splatter the sentiment section using the Night of Navy Marker and the lid and tap the longer tip end to create the light splatters. 2- put this panel on dimensionals. This is a step up due to the Marker and the dimensionals, but still a good beginner project. The card base is Night of Navy and the strip is Coastal Cabana; sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy.

Card #3 is another step up by adding ribbon (Just Jade 3/8″ Gingham Ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack) and these wonderful Iridescent Pearls, dimensionals behind the main panel AND an additional layer of card stock. The card base is Coastal Cabana, the layering panel is Granny Apple Green; the sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy.

Card #4 is similar to #3 BUT – the layering panel is the one on dimensionals. This then is the DSP adhered to the Whisper White panel, ribbon added to cover the seam (Boho Indigo Product Medley – Night of Navy 1/2″ Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon) and Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Coastal Cabana). The card base is Granny Apple Green and the layering panel is Coastal Cabana; the sentiment is stamped in Coastal Cabana.

The DSP is… Artistry Blooms – 3 x 3 adhered to Whisper White panel 3 x 4 1/2; lkayering panels are 3 1/4 x 4 3/4.

The envelopes all have the Artistry Blooms DSP on the envelope flap 2 1/4 x 6, adhered with liquid glue and trimmed to fit. For the front I pulled another stamp set as it has this rather modern stamp in it, Tasteful Touches stamp set. I used a sponge dauber, one for each color of ink, and dabbed the color on the stamp, varying it each time I stamped it. I did not clean the stamp in between. Inks used were Night of Navy and Coastal Cabana.
