Stam[in’ UP! Cottage Wreaths Slimline

Good Sunday morning! I’m writing this rather early on Sunday… and it isn’t daylight yet :O) I love sunrises – do you?They just start my day in a perfect place. Today’s card is another Cottage Wreaths bundle – this time as a slimline card. I’m having trouble moving on to other bundles, can you tell? This is pretty simple, but simplicity is a good thing.

The DSP really sets off the wreath, stamped in Real Red ink. The DSP is Boughs of Holly… back to the wreath. This is a distinctive stamp so it has these wonderful variations in shading that really show in the wreath. The greens behind the wreath are small die cut leaves from Garden Green scraps -there are four of these dies in the Country Wreaths Dies so it’s easy to die cut several at a time, and I did just that :O) The bow is also die cut from Garden Green card stock and is adhered with mini dimensionals. Let me show you the back of the wreath before I added it to the card front.

You can see nine small leaves attached to the wreath – I was able to do that by using Stampin’ Seal on the back of the wreath, add the leaves (looking from the front of the wreath) then add dimensionals over that. This helps hold the leaves in place even more. Back to the wreath front… I added several Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the wreaths, and a single larger jewel on the bow.

The sentiment banner comes from the Hope & Peace stamp set and was stamped in Soft Suede ink on Thick Basic White and die cut with the banner from Natural Prints Dies. Don’t you love the mix of fonts in this sentiment? The ribbon is attached with tear & Tape then dimesnionals to add to the card front . You can see I added two Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the banner. Here’s a look at the back of the banner.

Now to put the card together… card base Thick Basic White cut 7 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored on the short side at 3 1/4. The layers are both from Boughs of Holly DSP: red is 3 1/8 x 8 1/8, the Soft Suede is 2 7/8 x 7 7/8.

The sentiment comes from Cottage Wreaths stamp set and is stamped in Soft Suede ink on the Basic White panel. The frothy leaf spray is stamped in Garden Green ink – and also comes from Cottage Wreaths stamp set – in the opposite corners. Layers: Boughs of Holly DSP 6 x 3 1/8; Basic White 5 3/4 x 2 7/8.

The envelope is one of very own Stampin’ Up! Slimline Envelopes in White. I simply added a 3/8″ strip to the bottom front and nothing else. Want to take a peak at the card again?

Stampin’ Up! Artistically Inked in Gold

Hello there! It’s Saturday… and a beautiful fall day. Yesterday was a crazy hectic day – 22 folks here for a meeting & 9 stayed for lunch! And there were a couple gals who arrived an hour early and I wasn’t able to launch my post. Poor planning on my part :O( Anyway… my card today is rather modern, but I decided I really like it. Here it is – so tell me what you think.

The layout is really simple and our theme for our blog hop on Thursday was black, white + color of choice. I happen to really like black & white and kept creating with the same theme. the DSP is from the Perfectly Penciled packet and I die cut the four rectangles with the Stitched Rectangles Dies. Because DSP tends to be lighter weight, I backed each with Basic White – die cut at the same time, then adhered together with the DSP. These were all placed on dimensionals and adhered to a larger panel of Basic White. The large leaf is from Artistic Dies and die cut from Brushed Metallic in gold. I adhered this with dabs of liquid glue directly to the various rectangles. I placed a large acrylic block on top to make certain it adhered well. My card base is an A2 size of Thick Basic White with a layer of Basic Black, then the front panel. To complete the front I added the tiny gold pearls that are a retired product – sorry about that. I think what would look just as good is tiny Pearl Basic Jewels, so recommend that if you want to replicate this card. See the photo below for placement.

For the inside, I used the Artistically Inked stamp set to stamp the sentiment in VersaMark ink then sprinkled with gold embossing powder and heat set. I added two of the gold gems to either side of the sentiment. Again, substitute with Pearl Basic jewels.

For the envelope… more of the same Perfectly Penciled DSP on the envelope trimmed to fit. And the card is ready.

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

So you see the extra color, right? It’s the colored flowers in Cherry Cobbler Blends and the small Red Adhesive-Backed Pearls. I’ve used this layout before and really like it, but this is more modern than what I usually do. The DSP is Perfectly Penciled DSP which is all black & white papers. The background is a dry embossed Basic White panel using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder and adhered to a slightly larger piece of Basic Black. That is attached to a Thick Basic White A2 card base.

The inside is super simple but I love the flair of this font. It comes from the Go To Greetings stamp set, stamped in Memento Black ink on a Basic White panel. I adhered this directly to the inside of the card.

For the envelope, more of the same Perfectly Penciled DSP adhered to the flap and no stamping on the front. Again, the card has a modern look to it – simplicity follows that. Now – follow the hop by clicking on the ‘next’ button or clicking on a name. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the hop!

Stampin’ Up! Cottage Wreath Fun Fold

Hello Wednesday! Hello world! It’s our daughter’s birthday today – kid #2 – just had to share that :O) She has taken the day off so I’m hoping we can do something fun with her today. At any rate… happy birthday to our dear Wendy 💖

My card for today is a fall fun fold – do you like that alliteration? It uses Cottage Wreaths bundle (Country Wreaths Dies coordinates), Pumpkin Pie Gingham Cottage DSP, Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels and Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon. The banner is die cut with a banner die from Frosted Flurry Dies.

Isn’t this sweet? I’ve stamped the leaves of the wreath in Pale Papaya ink (from Cottage Wreaths stamp set), then the twig portion in Soft Suede ink, then die cut it with the appropriate die from Country Wreaths Dies. I tied a bow with the Open Weave Ribbon in Pale Papaya & adhered it with a glue dot. It’s covered with several Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I set this aside to stamp the sentiment… from Cottage Wreaths stamp set in Soft Suede ink on Basic White card stock, then die cut it with the larger banner die from Frosted Flurry Dies. I added two more Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels and set this aside. The last of the stamping for the card front is the sweet leaves on the banner – stamped in Soft Suede ink from the Country Wreaths stamp set and die cut with Country Leaves Dies. I attached this to the banner with liquid glue.

Now for the card base… Thick Basic White 5 1/2 x 11, scored at 4, 5 1/2 & 7. Burnish all score lines well. For the card front, adhere Pumpkin Pie card stock 3 7/8 x 5 3/8, then Gingham Cottage 3 3/4 x 5 1/4. Attach wreath with dimensionals & sentiment banner with dimensionals as well.

For the inside… on the left panel add another piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock then Cottage Gingham in a coordinating pattern. The folded area next to it gets a strip of Pumpkin Pie 1 1/4 x 5 3/8 that was embossed with Stripes embossing folder. The next panel is a strip of Basic White same size embossed with the Splatters embossing folder. Stripes & Splatters embossing folders come in the same set :O) and are mini embossing folders. I use them a LOT. The next panel is Basic White and was embossed just on the left section with the Splatters embossing folder. The only decoration is this leaf stamped in Pale Papaya ink from the Cottage Wreaths stamp set.

For the envelope I used more of the Gingham Cottage DSP for the flap, adhered & trimmed to fit ~ and that was it. Super cute card, love that it stands all by itself for display and can be used as a thank you or just a note or … you decide. The M Fold idea came from New Zealand SU! Demonstrator Jackie.

Stampin’ Up! Joyful Flurry in Gold & White

Hello again… I couldn’t help it – I played with the Joyful Flurry bundle again. I had an idea about making the Wonderful Snowflakes gold and simply HAD to give it a try. And guess what… it worked. First use the embossing buddy to remove any static. Use the VersaMark ink pad to tap onto the snowflake, sprinkle on gold embossing powder and heat set. I heated from the under side of the snowflake. I did have to do this a couple of times for good coverage.

Next I took a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Basic White and the Frosted Flurry Dies to make a card front. Some of the snowflakes in this die set cut all the way through, some do not, but create wonderful designs with some cut-outs. I chose one of those, well two of those :O) I figured out the placement of the now gold Wonderful Snowflake, removed it and ran the Basic White panel through the cut & emboss machine. I punched up from the back all the little designs, then cut a piece of Brushed Metallic Gold to put behind the cut-out snowflake, adhering it to the back of the Basic White with Tear n Tape. I adhered the gold Wonderful Snowflake with a dimensional in the center. To create the banner from the Joyful Flurry stamp set, I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark and sprinkled it with gold embossing powder and heat set – again from behind. It seems to create a nicer finish when heating the gold from the back side. I then used a banner die from the Frosted Flurry Dies to make the banner. I had die cut the remaining snowflake but it needed to be trimmed around the middle to be free to add. At this point I sprayed the card front with a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with drops of Frost White Shimmer Paint & rubbing alcohol. I added three Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front. All this was attached to a Thick Basic White A2 card.

For the inside I again used a sentiment from the Joyful Flurry stamp set with VersaMark ink and sprinkled it with gold embossing powder, heat set from the back. I spritzed the panel with the same Frost White Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol in the Stampin’ Spritzer. It barely shows in the photo but in person, it does!

On the envelope, I used the Splatters embossing folder (from Stripes & Splatters) to emboss the flap. For the envelope front, I stamped a snowflake from the Joyful Flurry stamp set in Memento ink, then filled in all the openings with Wink of Stella. The camera does not capture this well :O( And the card was done. Elegant.

Stampin’ Up! Very Best Occasions Christmas

Hello and good Friday to you! Do you have something fun planned today? Hubby has Kiwanis early; it’s a breakfast club and I’m having a meeting here at home later in the morning. And you know what that means -clean! Hubby is very good at helping me with that so we spent a good part of yesterday morning doing that. I must say – the house looks quite nice – I think I should keep it this way 😁

I’m using a brand new stamp bundle today – new to me anyway. It’s called Very Best Occasions and it has some very fun sentiments. The bundle part is the Very Best Trio Punch – and I must say I’m having fun with it. It has three punches in one but of course I’ve only used the one! Ha! But here ya go…

Gosh – the sparkle paper doesn’t show up as it should – that the red. It’s Real Red Glimmer paper. It comes as Real Red & White 6×6 Glimmer paper and it’s wonderful. The background DSP is one of the papers from Boughs of holly DSP and I simply cut it in strips of various widths and adhered them to a Basic White panel. This was also adhered to Evening Evergreen then onto the A2 Soft Succulent card front. The twine is called Threaded Twine ‘cuz it has silver running through it – it adds to the sparkle :O). The red is the glimmer paper. For the sentiment panel… stamped in Shaded Spruce ink on Basic White using the Very Best Occasions stamp set, I added a bit of Garden Green marker to the holly leaves then several Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. And yes, the corners were trimmed with the Very Best Occasions Trio Punch.

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment from Very Best Occasions stamp set in Shaded Spruce ink. Then I took the trees from the Trees for Sale stamp set and stamped them in Soft Succulent, stamping off each time before stamping on the card. This Basic White panel was adhered to Evening Evergreen then onto the inside of the Soft Succulent card base.

For the envelope front I repeated the trees from the Trees for Sale stamp set, stamping in Soft Succulent after stamping off each time. The flap of the envelope got more Boughs of Holly DSP that I felt coordinated well with the card – and the card was done! Easy peasy. Stampin’ Up! Joyful Flurry for the Happy Inkin’ Blog Hop

Hello again – whowee, it’s Thursday and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop… we have a sketch challenge today.

And here’s my card…

This card begins with a Basic Gray A2 card base with the fold to the left. A piece of Sun Prints DSP was adhered to the front. Another piece of the Sun Prints DSP – this time in Starry Sky, was run through the Wintry 3D embossing folder. Since this has two folders, I chose the snowflakes :O) This was adhered to a Basic White panel then added to the center of the card with dimensionals. I then added a Wonderful Snowflake with a single glue dot in the center. I pulled out my Basic White and die cut two snowflakes with the Frosted Flurry Dies that coordinates with the Joyful Flurry stamp set. I set these aside whileI stamped the sentiment from Joyful Flurry stamp set in Starry Sky ink on a Basic White piece, then die cut it with the appropriate banner die from the Frosted Flurry Dies.I put dimensionals on the back, added it to the card front with dimesnionals, then added the two snowflakes with a single glue dot in the center. For a bit of sparkle I added three Iridescent Rhinestones. And the card front was done – just like that!

For the inside I took left-ever strips from a Basic White panel embossed with the Wintry 3D embossing folder, snowflakes, and added them to the bottom of a Basic White panel. Then I took one of the snowflakes from the Frosted Snowflakes Dies and die cut it just above those strips. It adds a nice effect, don’t you think? Notice this die… it leaves the center intact :O) Because there is no sentiment on the inside of this card, it could be used for several purposes – and I like that a LOT!

For the envelope… a panel of Basic White run through the Wintry 3D embossing folder, adhered to the envelope flap & trimmed to fit. Then on the front, a stamped snowflake: first in full strength Starry Sky ink, then stamped again without re-inking. Third time is inked, then stamped-off twice and stamped on the envelope front.

Stampin’ Up! Kraft Note Cards with Abigail Rose DSP

Good Wednesday morning! Time for some quick & easy cards. I’ve chosen the Kraft Note Cards & Envelopes to pair with the Abigail Rose DSP. Gosh that paper is stunning. Cards can be super simple and still show off handmade. I’ve done some coloring with Stampin’ Blends and added ribbon or linen thread to each. Let’s take a peek.

Each is so different… do you have a favorite? I do but I’m not telling. :O)

Card 1: Stampin’ Blends used were Flirty Flamingo, Pale Papaya & So Saffron, Petal Pink & Daffodil Delight and Old Olive for the leaves. This was adhered directly to the Kraft Note Card. A bow was added with a glue dot using Crinkled Seam Binding ribbon & Linen Thread tied together. The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink, fussy cut and adhered directly under the bow.

Card 2: Again, Stampin’ Blends were used to color the flowers ~ Calypso Coral this time. Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon was wrapped over and secured in back with Seal+, then an extra length was tied in a knot and secured with a glue dot. The DSP was adhered to the Kraft Note Card; sentiment stamped in Early Espresso ink, die cut and adhered with liquid glue.

Card 3: Stampin’ Blends were used to color leaves: Blackberry Bliss, Pale Papaya & Daffodil Delight. This was added to a Blackberry Bliss piece. Linen Thread was wrapped around twice, tied in a knot. Another length was added, tied in a knot and securing it all with a glue dot. This was adhered to the Kraft Note Card front with dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped in Blackberry Bliss on a Basic White piece, adhered to a Blackberry Bliss panel and adhered to the front with dimensionals. Three Glossy Dots in Daffodil Delight were added.

On the inside of each is a Basic White panel, no stamping at all, for simplicity. This would be a perfect little gift set for someone. AND when ordering the Kraft Note Cards & Envelopes, a Kraft box comes with it!

Stampin’ Up! Boughs of Holly in a Slimline Fun Fold

Good morning folks! Today’s card is very pretty and just a bit more involved than the tags I shared with you yesterday. And one of the interesting facts about card making is you can make it as simple or as complicated as YOU desire. 😊 This isn’t so complicated as it is layered. It is very pretty and a satisfying card to make. We had a team meeting the other afternoon and this card was designed by one of my teammates. I love it!

Stampin' Up! Boughs of Hololy Fun Fold.1

Let’s begin with the card base of Mossy Meadow 7 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score on the long side at 3 3/4 and 1 7/8; burnish well. Since this is an easel card, both folds will be mountain. Add the Boughs of Holly DSP to a Cherry Cobbler panel slightly larger, then to a Mossy Meadow panel a bit larger yet. (Further card cuts will be found at the end of this post.) Now let’s do some stamping & die cutting using the Leaves of Holly bundle. On a panel of Mossy Meadow and with Mossy Meadow ink, stamp the smaller outline of the two holly leaves three times. Now stamp the filler stamp in Mossy Meadow ink, stamped-off once. This gives the leaves dimension. Die cut these and set them aside. The berries are also a two step stamp as well: stamp the full berry in Real Red ink, then the detail in Cherry Cobbler ink: die cut and set aside. The beautiful label die in this this Leaves of Holly bundle is just gorgeous, with the holly leaves delicate die cuts on one side and the framing that is created. Die cut this in Cherry Cobbler. There is a die that is rather New Jersey shaped for cutting a piece to go behind the holly leaves – use this to die cut from another piece of Boughs of Holly DSP and adhere with dabs of liquid glue behind the holly leaves. Secure this to the large front panel on the left of the card. Add the three previously die cut leaves on the right of this panel, creating a spray. Add the berries in the center of the leaves with dimensionals. Time for a sentiment… let’s stamp this in Mossy Meadow ink using the Mistletoe Magic stamp set and on a Basic White piece. Die cut with the label die from Leaves of Holly Dies. Add to the Cherry Cobbler label with dimensionals. I tucked in three Gold Holly Leaves with glue dots as shown in the photo. Then I added several Real Red Rhinestone Jewels – some on the sentiment, the rest around the large holly leaves. Now attach this large panel to the lower fold of the card front, with glue just to the 1 7/8″ fold line to make this an easel card – and the card front is complete.

For the inside, we’ll do the stamping first: stamp the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink on a Basic White piece using Mistletoe Magic stamp set; die cut with the Frosted Flurry Die and set aside. Now pull out two Textural Elements – these are delicate wood elements and can be colored with Stampin’ Blends: Early Espresso for the stems and Real Red for the berries. I also added some Pearlized Enamel Effects in Real Red to the berries :O). These take a bit of time to harden. Add the Basic White panel to the remaining Cherry Cobbler piece and add it to the inside of the card. Now add the Textural Elements with glue dots on the back of each berry, making sure they are pretty even. These elements will be what the front of the card leans against to make it an easel card. :O) Clever, right? Back to the inside sentiment… add a length of Shimmer Ribbon in Gold with Tear n’ Tape to the back of the sentiment. Put dimensionals on this and add, centering, to the inside – as shown.

For the envelope… obviously a standard A2 envelope will not work for this card 😁 – but a leagal size one will! I happen to have a gold envelope… I covered the flap in more of the Boughs of Holly DSP then stamped the lower left corner with the outline stamp of the holly – Mossy Meadow ink, then stamped a second leaf without re-inking. This makes it look as though it is behind the first leaf. And that’s it! A very classy looking card.
