Stampin’ Up! A Bit of Painted Christmas Suite Part 1

The other I mentioned we had a Team Meeting with a couple of demonstrations by teammates. Here is another of the cards we individually put together. I’ve ‘tweeked’ mine a bit so it’s not exactly the same, but oh so similar.

The Painted Christmas Suite means, two stamp set with two coordinating dies, ribbon, Gold Holly Leaves & Designer Series Paper ~ and ALL of thesde products are used on this card (+ a few others as well 🙂 Let’s begin…

Thick Basic White card stock for the base (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2)
Cherry Cobbler card stock (4 1/8 x 5 3/8): one adhered directly to the card front, the other adhered to the inside of the card
Painted Christmas 12 x 12 DSP (4 x 5 1/4) adhered to the card front
Stamp the sentiment from Christmas To remember stamp set in VersaMark ink. Sprinkle with White Embossing Powder & heat set with the heat tool
Die cut with the largest label die in the Seasonal Labels Dies
Stamp the single pine bough six times with Evening Evergreen ink on Soft Succulent card stock. Die cut all six. Here’s where mine differs… cover the stamped pine bough with Wink of Stella.
Stamp the two pine cones, large & small: Soft Suede stamped off once for the larger image of each cone, First generation Soft Suede ink for the detailed stamp. Die cut both cones. Again, this is where mine differs ~ cover the inked areas with Wink of Stella.

I’m hoping you can see the Wink of Stella in this photo but not sure it shows :O(

Add pine boughs together with glue dots in two groups of three (as shown) tghen adds to the edge of the label with liquid glue.
Layer the large cone overlapping the boughs, dimensionals under the right side of the cone.
Layer to the smaller cone over this with dimensionals.
Tie a bow with the gorgeous Cherry Cobbler & Gold Ribbon and add with a glue dot
Here’s another place where mine differs: add three Gilded Gems for extra sparkle.

For the inside…

On a Basic White panel (4 x 5 1/4) stamp the double pine boughs from Christmas Seasons stamp set in Evergreen ink in the two upper corners
Stamp the single bough over these, also in Evergreen ink.
Differing again… add Wink of Stella to the stamped boughs
Add 3/4″ strip to the bottom of the panel and adhere panel to the inside of the card. DONE!

For the envelope…

Add Painted Christmas 12 x 12 DSPn to the envelope flap, trim to fit
Stamp the boughs in a similar fashion as on the inside of the card – at the top of the envelope 🙂

Stampin’ Up! Christmas Bundles

Monday, Monday… can’t get you down… hee hee, funny song that came to me from YEARS ago 🙂 It IS Monday and a beautiful one at that. I hope you have plans to craft for a bit, just for you. We had a Team Meeting yesterday and after the business portion we made cards. Three of our teammates presented (meaning they demonstrated the how-to for the card they created.) ALL OF THEM did a terrific job! And today’s card is one of those demonstrated, which I made.

I happen to like monochromatic and this has a splash of color with die cuts, ribbon and embellishments. And how about the embossing with the Merry Melody 3D EF? I haven’t used this folder much and love it! Expect to see more of it in the next couple of months. Let’s see how to do this.

How to:

Do the stamping for the die cuts all at the same time. They can all be stamped on a Basic White panel about 4 x 5, then die cut together. The stamp set of choice is Christmas Season and the dies are from Seasonal Dies.
- Evening Evergreen ink for the longer leaf stem and for the single pine bough
- Soft Succulent ink for the Holly leaves – stamp twice and die cut twice
- Cherry Cobbler for the berries
- Soft Suede for the berry stem

Die cut the above stamped pieces
Run a Basic White panel 1 3/4 x 3 7/8 through the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder & adhere to a Basic White panel 1 7/8 x 3 7/8
Adhere these two panels to a Basic White panel 3 7/8 x 5 1/8
Stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink using the Stamparatus. The sentiment comes from the Christmas To Remember stamp set
Add the die cuts as shown in the photo with liquid glue and glue dots
Add three Gold Holly Leaves with glue dots
Add a bow tied with the Cherry Cobbler and Gold Ribbon and adhere with a glue dot
Put dimensionals on the back of the completed Basic White embellished panel and add to a Thick Basic White card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 14

The inside…

Stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink using the Christmas To Remember stamp set. Stamp the holly leaves in Soft Succulent ink and the berries in Cherry Cobbler ink. Both come from Christmas Season stamp set. All this is done on a panel of Basic White card stock 4 x 5 1/2. Add to the inside of the card and voila – the card is finis!

For the envelope…

Stamp the holly leaves in Soft Succulent ink and the berries in Cherry Cobbler ink – both from the Christmas Season stamp set. For the flap I stamped the pine boughs from Christmas Season stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink and called it done. Lovely card! I really like this one.

Stampin’ Up! and Gift Packaging

Surprise! It’s Sunday! And what I have for you today is… not a card, it’s gift packaging in a very fun way. This came from none other than Sam Hammond Donald or Pootles, who does quite a bit of boxes & such. This is not a box. And I did three different sizes cuz they are so cute and well, I couldn’t quit :O)

Aren’t these just CUTE? I haven’t decorated but one of them, cuz I can’t decide… And can you tell there are three different sizes here? The last photo is the smallest; the medium size are the first two photos; and the largest is the polka dot. The color is Highland Heather, not very Christmasy, but could be. The two papers (largest & medium) are from the Penguin Playmates 12 x 12 DSP – a FREE item during Sale-a-bration. The smallest is from the 2021-2023 In Color 6×6 DSP. The ribbon is Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon. To me, they look as though they should be decorated as baby packaging – maybe it’s the color that leads me in that direction. So… friends… Shall I decorate as though they are for Christmas or a for a baby gift? Or maybe a Christmas baby gift? Hmmm – thinking through this and I kinda like that idea, Christmas baby gift. Let me show you the one I did decorate, albeit not overly so.

I fussy cut images from the Penguin Playmates DSP, added them to the stitched rectangle with mini dimensionals , bent the rectangle a bit to give it a curve and mounted it with dimensionals to the package. Oh, and yes, I did stamp a sentiment as well – the images called for it 🙂

Let me tell you how these are made and I know you will want to try this yourself. The paper sizes vary, but all must be square AND divisible by 3.

Sizes:

12 x 12 scored @ 4 & 8; turn and do the same again
9 x 9 scored at 3 & 6; turn and do the same again
6 x 6 scored at 2 & 4; turn and do the same again

The how to:

After scoring, burnish all score lines. Mark the center of each edge and score from the center mark to the score line in an upside down V. Burnish those score lines as well. Punch holes in each corner about 1/2″ in from point. Thread ribbon through, first through opposite points, then each side point. Gently pull together and tie a bow. See photo…

Super easy and super cute! Here’s what it looks like from the top when it’s bow is tied.

I think I talked myself into decorating these as baby gifts for Christmas – and I have the perfect someone in mind!

Stampin’ Up! Fun Fold Flap Card

Greetings again… it’s Friday and I’ve a Fun Fold for Friday 🙂 (alliterations are fun). This one is made with the gorgeous Beautifully Penned DSP that is a FREE product during Sale-a-bration. It’s Black & White and therefore ~ can be colored to your hearts desire. I’ve chosen Mango Melody cuz it’s kinda fall-ish, but it could be any color.

Now, if you’re an English fanatic, the sentiment on the front of this card could be problematic. It really should read BREATHE DEEPLY. But w’re flexible in the card making business 🙂 The sentiment comes from the Reflected In Nature stamp set found in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. And the two photos below show how this card opens.

I colored this beautiful DSP by using the Blending Brush and Mango Melody ink. One of the things I like is that the color is not solid – there are gradations of color. Of course, it could be solid, the same all over by simply continuing to add color to the paper.

The card stock for the card base is Mango Melody. The coordinating card stock is Cinnamon Cider. And, there’s a bit of Cork Paper on the front. Gosh, it stamps nicely! And of course there’s Basic White.

I used Early Espresso ink to stamp both sentiments and the fall bunch for the card front. Early Espresso is such a rich brown.

The splotch comes from Nature’s Harvest stamp set, as does the flower. The splotch was stamped in Mango Melody stamped off once. And the flower for the front was colored with Stampin’ Markers: Mango Melody and Soft Succulent and die cut with the coordinating Harvest Dies.

The envelope was super easy to decorate: stamp the flower in Early Espresso and use the blotch to add a bit of color. I stamped off first, stamped and then stamped again in a different direction, without re-inking. For the flap, I adhered the Beautifully Penned DSP that had been colored with the Blending Brush & Mango Melody ink to the flap, then die cut with the Basic Borders Dies. I really like this extra element of charm to the envelope. I haven’t used these dies for this in the past, but I think you will see more of this from me.

Stampin’ Up! Whimsical Trees

Hi there! It’s mid week or hump day, or we could say – it’s Wednesday <:) Hope your week has been good so far. I’m back to a Christmas card today – can you believe it? I’m addicted. Today’s card uses some fun products: Green Foil, Be Dazzled Specialty Paper (FREE item during Sale-a-bration!), Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP, Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon & Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder – f-u-n…

The card base is Blushing Bride card stock, with the front embossed using the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder. Pink is a very non-traditional color (for me) for Christmas, but this works. I fussy cut presents from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP to add for under the tree. There are larger piece of the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP behind the tree & it’s adhered to Crumb Cake card stock. I wrapped a length of the pretty Pink Frayed Grosgrain Ribbon around the bottom & adhered it in back with Stampen’ Seal+. This was added to the card with dimensionals. I die cut the tree from Green Foil, part of the Red & Green Foil pack, a carry over from last year. For garland I die cut from the Be Dazzled Specialty Paper (did I mention already that it’s Free during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order?). This cut so cleanly, piece of cake! I adhered the garland to the foil tree with mini dots & dabs of liquid glue. The tree was added to the panel with dimensionals. The fussy cut packages were added, some with dimensioanals, some with liquid glue: the large pink package has dimensionals, the crumb cake package is attached with liquid glue, and the green package has loiquid glue on the left portion and doubled dimensionals under the right end.

On the panel of Basic White card stock I stamped the sentiment from the Whimsical Trees stamp set in Blushing Bride ink. A strip of the green Whimsy & Wonder SDSP was adhered at the bottom and an extra fussy cut package was added as well. The panel was adhered to Crumb Cake card stock then into the cards inside.

For the envelope, the flap got more of the Whimsy & Wonder SDSP trimmed to fit. For the front I die cut one of the trees from the Whimsy & Wonder SDAP and adhered it with liquid glue. I love this tree – and I really appreciate that several of the dies in the Christmas Trees Dies coordinates with this paper pack. Stampin’ Up! scores again…

Stampin’ Up! Sympathy with Delicate Dahlias

Wow – it’s Friday! Hurricane Ida has left us a little soggier than usual, but otherwise in good form, thank goodness. Today is c-o-o-l, a mere 54 degrees ~ unusual for this time of year. But I’ll take it!

Today’s card is another sympathy card using the wonderful Delicate Dahlias stamp set and Merry Merlot ink. Before I go into detail about the card, let me remind you this stamp is available as a FREE product during Sale-a-bration (NOW!) when placing a $50 order.

This is a two-step stamp, meaning there is an outline stamp for the dahlia and leaves & a filler stamp for both as well – two step 🙂 One of the things that’s really helpful when receiving a two step stamp is to mark on the flat side of the stamp a ‘matching point’ – doing this on both the outline and filler stamp. This will save lots of frustration when trying to make stamps line up. My card panel is Very Vanilla and I stamped opposite corners, first with the outline stamp, then the filler stamp. I also stamped the outline stamp on a piece of sticky note and fussy cut it so as to use it as a mask for stamping the leaves. Once I had the mask in place I stamped the leaves in Pear Pizzazz ink. When doing the filler for the leaves, I stamped off once first. The sentiment is from this same stamp set – Delicate Dahlias, stamped on a Very vanilla panel and die cut with the Ornate Frames Dies. I then cut a length of the Fine Art Ribbon, used Stampin’ Seal across the back and adhered it on the card front. The sentiment panelm got dimensionals and attached over the ribbon. I added three Wonderful gems to tie it together.

This panel was adhered to a slightly larger piece of Merry Merlot then attached to the Pear Pizzazz card base with dimensionals.

For the inside I stamped another of the flowers from Delicate Dahlias with the same two-step method: outline stamp in Merry Merlot ink, then filler stamp in Merry merlot ink stamped off once. And the Vary Vanilla panel was added to a slightly larger Merry Merlot then into the inside of the card ~ all with liquid glue. You could certainly use Stampin’ Seal instead, I just prefer the liquid glue for wiggle room 🙂

For the very vanilla envelope, I covered the flap with Neutrals 6×6 DSP in Merry Merlot then trimmed it to fit. The front of the envelope got the same treatment of a two-step stamp: outline stamp first in Merry Merlot ink, tghen the filler stamp. And voila! I like the color combination and I love this flower! I think this stamp set would be lovely in Misty Moonlight too – an odd color for this flower, but I think I have to do one…

Stampin’ Up! Christmas To Remember and Majestic Mountain

Wow ~ it is Sep 1!!! I can’t believe it… where DID the summer go? Are your kids ready for school? And wonder what school is going to look like? Nearly everywhere I go folks are wearing masks again… and I don’t go a lot of places: grocery store, Costco, church, like that. I haven’t been “shopping” in quite a while. And then there’s Ida – a really big hurricane.; and Afghanistan… ugh… my heart does ache for all these people & the situations of the world. Sending up prayers of comfort, peace, resolution, patience ~ you get it. I think most of you are with me on this.

OK ~ today’s card 😜. Let me tell you what I did… I went looking in the Jul-Dec 2021 Mini Catalog for a bit of inspiration, and found it! The DSP used here is Peaceful Place SDSP. It is gorgeous! I also used Majestic Mountain Dies and the Christmas To Remember stamp set. That’s why this post is called Mixing & Matching :)

Crumb Cake card stock is the card base. I adhered a panel of Peaceful Place DSP to Basic Gray card stock and wrapped it twice around with Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack – basically the Black & White Bakers Twine, and tied a bow. I mounted these two to the card base with dimensionals. I pulled out another panel of the Peaceful Place DSP, die cut two trees using the Majestic Mountain Dies. I backed one of the trees, slightly off-set, with a Basic White panel after die cutting the filigree- type tree from Majestic Mountain Dies. I adhered this die cut DSP to a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock, put dimensionals on the back and centered it over the other panels. I stamped the word ‘merry’ from the Christmas To Remember stamp set with VersaMark ink onto a Basic White scrap. I sprinkled it with silver embossing powder & heat set it. Once it was cool, I die cut with the Messages Die. (This is a big die, but I used only a scrap on which to stamp and die cut just the banner I wanted.) I added the banner to the card front with more dimesnionals. For a final touch I added two Silver Epoxy Essentials to the top of the trees ~ and the card front was done.

For the inside, I took the same stamp and stamped with VersaMark ink, the ‘merry christmas’ then sprinkle it with silver embossing powder & heat set it. I had this tree that was removed from the Peaceful Place DSP (yep, from the card front, adhered it to another tree die cut from Basic White and put it on the panel. And one more Silver Epoxy Essentials was added to the top of the tree. I adhered the Basic White panel to Basic Gray card stock then added it to the inside of the card. Voila!

For the envelope, more of the same Peaceful Place DSP was added to the envelope flap & trimmed to fit. For the front, there was this extra tree die cut from the DSP for the card front. I added it to the front of the envelope with liquid glue ~ and it was finis…

Stampin’ Up! Whimsical Trees Bundle.2

It’s Tuesday – and the week is on! A couple of days ago I posted a card with a layout that I really liked and decided to take advantage of that design. Here’s the card… and you can see the post here.

Today’s card is this… same layout but using the Whimsy & Wonder DSP as the focus.

The Designer Series Paper is adhered to Mint Macaron then popped up on dimensionals and added to the Blushing Bride card base. I then die cut a banner in Mossy Meadow card stock using the Potted Succulents Dies. I used Seal+ on the back of the banner to twist around some of the Silver cord in the Simply Elegant Trim, then added dimensionals to that and put it on the card front. I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink on a piece of Blushing Bride card stock and die cut it with another of the dies in the Potted Succulents Dies. This strip also got dimensionals then centered on the Mossy Meadow banner ~ and the card front was done.

For the inside I stamped another sentiment from the Whimsical Trees stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on a piece of Blushing Bride, die cut it with the Potted Succulents Dies and added it to the Basic White panel. I already had on my desk these two trees, stamped & die cut from the Whimsical Trees stamp set & Christmas Trees Dies (Mossy Meadow ink), so adhered them to the panel too. This was added to another panel of Mint Macaron card stock then into the card ~ and voila!

For the envelope I added the Whimsy & Wonder DSP to the envelope flap and trimmed it to fit. On the front I stamped the holly flourish from Whimsical Trees stamp set in VersaMark ink, then sprinkled it with silver embossing powder & heat set it. I colored it with markers… Mint Macaron and Blushing Bride. In retrospect, the banner on the card front should have been done the same – VersaMark then silver embossing powder – I just may have to change that! For now – this is it though… Funny how things look so different in a photo and I can see how it should be changed. :] This DSP is just stunning. And this is the first I have used the holly flourish – it’s stunning and very clear in the embossing powder.

Stampin’ Up! Cathedral Window Christmas

Hi folks – it’s Friday and a bit of a heart-wrenching day in the aftermath of killings in Afghanistan. I want to say AAARGH! as Snoopy does in the daily funnies. Power. Control. Over others. It’s just not right… Prayers of peace & comfort to all those affected in this terrible tragedy.

What’s our card for today? A Cathedral window card, which I haven’t made before this… and it was pretty easy and I like the end result.

The colors in this are pretty soft: Mint Macaron and Sahara Sand with a bit of White. Here’s what I did…

Die cut a circle approximately 1 1/2″. I used the Circle Dies for this.
Cut a square, approximately 1″. I used my paper trimmer.
Put the square inside the circle and fold over the edges of the circle. Remove the square. And that’s it to make the cathedral window! But here’s a tip or two…
- Placing the square to align with the inside image is important. If you want the image straight (as I did with this one), using your grid paper to make certain it’s ‘square’ really works!
- Using DSP that is double sided and has small images is even better. Here I used the Peaceful Prints DSP which is a FREE product with a $50 order as part of Sale-a-bration. More on that later in the post 🙂

I placed but did not adhere the cathedral window pieces to determine where to stamp the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment from Perfectly Plaid stamp set in VersaMark ink, them embossed with white embossing powder & heat set it with my heat tool. Once that was cool & not tacky I then ran the Mint Macaron panel through the Bark 3D Embossing Folder. Boy am I glad I have this EF – I use it a LOT. The cathedral windows were adhered with liquid glue, then the Mint Macaron panel was adhered to a Basic White piece with liquid glue. I then punched the sides to create a place for the Linen Thread & Simply Elegant Trim in Silver to remain in place. These were wrapped around the two panels and tied in a bow. This entire panel was added to the Sahara Sand Card base with dimensionals. To complete the front I added three Opal Rounds.

For the inside I stamped the sentiment in Sahara Sand ink using another stamp in the Perfectly Plaid stamp set. use my Stamparatus a lot too as I can re-stamp when necessary and align perfectly straight. I added more of the same Peaceful Prints DSP to the bottom of the Basic White panel and adhered it to the inside of the card. DONE!

The envelope got more of the same Peaceful Prints DSP to the envelope flap & trimmed to fit. For the front I stamped the tree from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set in Mint Macaron ink. Another Christmas card for the pile :O)

Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Leaves and Fall

Whew – my computer seems to be OK today – wonder what happened? A gremlin maybe 🙂 Usually the computer transfers my photos immediately from my phone; yesterday it was over 24 hrs.! Today’s card uses the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle from the Jul-Dec 2021 Mini Catalog on page 47. I’ve paired it with Expressions In Ink Specialty DSP and Gold Foil Sheets, plus a couple of other Stampin’ Up! products.

What do you think? Two of the leaves are die cut from Gold Foil using the Intricate Leaves Dies and the other leaf is die cut from a piece of Expressions In Ink SDSP. And the background is another piece of the Expressions In Ink SDSP layered onto Gold Foil Sheet die cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The sentiment was stamped prior to embossing the Basic White panel with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. The sentiment comes from the Artistically Inked stamp set and was stamped in Evening Evergreen. I added three (3) Matte Decorative Dots in Old Olive for a final touch. The Basic White panel was added to a Pear Pizzazz panel then to the front of the card (
Evening Evergreen is the card base!).

For the inside I wanted to bring in the color from the one maple leaf on the front of the card, so stamped the maple leaf with Cinnamon Cider ink, stamping off first then not re-inking. The Basic White panel was adhered to a piece of Pear Pizzazz then added to the inside of the card. And voila – the card is done.

sFor the front of the envelope, I chose the same maple leaf but stamped it in Pear Pizzazz ink to coordinate with the Expressions In Ink SDSP on the envelope flap. Done, done, done! I like this – the sentiment makes it so it could be a masculine card, thinking of you, just saying hello – lots of options. And I like the textures & color.
