Stampin’ Up! Double Box Fun Fold for Class

Good morning! Sunshine today – and I mean FULL sunshine. After 5 full days of rain and haze and cloud cover, the shining sun is very welcome… Today’s card was inspired by one of my teammates, Carol Buckelew. I love this fun fold – so very easy and creates a stand up card that’s fun to show off. After I made a couple of them, we made this in my card class Thursday.

Stampin' Up! Double Box Fun Fold w/ One Horse Open Sleigh DSP

I used the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP both for this card and another and in the card class as well. I love how each has a different scene. (You’ll see each of the others in the photos below) I also incorporated the Forever Forest stamp set (used on the card back) and coordinating Forever Forest Dies (for the die cut trees on the front). The circle was made using the Stylish Shapes Dies.

Dimensions / Card Cuts

  • Card Base 1: 4 1/4 x 9 3/8 scored on the long side @ 3/8, 1 3/8, 2 7/8, 3 7/8
    • DSP for this base 1: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8; 4 1/8 x 1 3/8
  • Card Base 2: 3 1/2 x 5 1/8 scored on the long side @ 3/8 & 1 3/8
    • DSP for base 2: 3 3/8 x 3 58; 3 3/8 x 7/8
  • DSP for envelope flap: 2 1/4 x 6

Burnish score lines for Base 1; add DSP to long unscored end of base 1. Add Tear ‘n Tape to 3/8″ end fold under, then lay flat at 2 7/8 score line and adhere to make ‘box’. Adhere 1 3/8 DSP to appropriate panel – refer to photos. Add Tear ‘n Tape to 3/8″ section of base 2.

Turn Base 2 to wrong side and center on Base 1, top, bottom, left & right. Add Stampin’ Seal as shown; turn over to right side and adhere to Base 1.

Remove Tear ‘n Tape & adhere to create box 2

Stampin' Up! Double Box fun fold.6

Wow – almost there! Add 3 3/8 x 3 5/8 DSP to Base 2 front, then adhere 7/8 x 3 3/8 panel to panel to right of that.

Stampin' Up! Double Box fun fold.7

Decorate front as desired. On this card I used the Forever Forest Dies to die cut two trees: one in Crumb Cake (smaller) and one in Pebbled Path. I layered them on a circle – die cut using Basic White and the Stylish Shapes Dies. I added Rhinestone Basic Jewels for a bit of glam. See photo.

Stampin' Up! Double Box fun fold.8, back of card

For the back of the card I stamped a Basic White panel (4 1/8 x 5 3/8) using the trees from the Forever Forest stamp set and Mossy Meadow ink. The sentiment is from the Night Divine stamp set and stamped in Pebbled Path ink. The envelope was simple: more of the same One Horse Open Sleigh DSP for the flap & trimmed to fit. :O) :O) :O) Such a FUN CARD….

Here’s another and those made in the card class. All use the One Horse Open Sleigh DSP from the NLINE EXCLUSIVES store.

The students really enjoyed this class – had so much fun and were creative in decorating the card front and the back as well. Unfortunately I didn’t take photos of the back of the card :O( ugh. I look forward to see what YOU do with this fun fold. Please share photos with me of your creations!

Stampin’ Up! Joy of Noel and Layers

Good morning! I’m away right now, attending a convention that has nothing to do with Stampin’ Up!. Can you imagine? :O) The convention is in Pittsburgh, a city of bridges. I learned yesterday Pittsburgh has more bridges than Venice, France, numbering 463 (I think that’s the right number). And they are all so different. But this post isn’t about Pittsburgh, this is a post about today’s creation.

Stampin' Up! Joy of Noel

This card has lots of layers using the Joy of Christmas 12×12 DSP. It is beautiful. You can see I used three different designer series papers, with the very top one as kind of a background piece for the sentiment banner. I used the Banners Pick a Punch to make the pointy ends. It’s hard to pick a favorite of these papers. Prior to adhering this strip to the card front, I wrapped it in Metallic Woven Ribbon in Parakeet Party. There are so many shades of green in this paper, this ribbon just adds a sparkle of fun.

The sentiment is stamped using Joy of Noel stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Basic White panel that was then die cut with Something Fancy Dies. I used Gold Holly Leaves and Loose Holly Gems to decorate the banner. Attached with Stampin’ Seal to the basck of the banner is a Pine bough die cut from Shaded Spruce card stock using a die from Joy of Noel dies. I’m thinking a gold foil pine bough might have been nice as well.

The layers of the card are…

  • Shaded Spruce card base 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2
  • Cherry Cobbler 4 x 5 1/4 adhered directly to the card base.
  • Basic White 3 3/4 x 5 adhered to Joy of Christmas DSP 3 1/2 x 4 3/4, dimensionals on the Basic White and centered onto the card front
  • Basic White 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 and Joy of Christmas DSP 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 adhered together, dimensionals on the Basic White and again centered onto the card front.
  • The bannered piece is 3/4 x 4 1/4, trimmed with the Banners Pick A Punch, wrapped in the Metallic Woven Ribbon and adhered with adhesive.
  • The sentiment banner is attached with dimensionals.
Stampin' Up! Joy of Noel, inside

For the inside… Cherry Cobbler layer (4 x 5 1/4) adhered to the card base; the Basic White panel (3 3/4 x 5) is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink and Shaded Spruce ink using stamps from the Joy of Noel stamp set then added to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Joy of Noel card & envelope

The envelope got more of this gorgeous Joy of Christmas DSP adhered to the flap and trimmed to fit. On the envelope front, I stamped two holly sprigs in Shaded Spruce ink then added tiny dots of Pearlized Enamel Effects. This needed to be set aside to dry so the Enamel Effects doesn’t smear. Love this card and envelope and hope you do as well.

Stampin’ Up! Wishes All Around Bundle

Good Sunday morning! It’s chilly again… and I’m enjoying the cooler weather. Today’s card is quick and easy and a Christmas card! It uses the Wishes All Around bundle as well as an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE Special Release DSP called Shining Christmas 12×12 SDSP. It’s beautiful. Take a peek.

Stampin' Up! Wishes All Around C'mas card

The card base is Mossy Meadow cut 7 x 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. Next are layers of Cherry Cobbler: 2 5/8 x 5 3/8 (top front) and 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 for the inside. The Shining Christmas 12×12 SDSP is cut 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 (top front) and 1 3/4 x 5 1/4 for the bottom inside. Stamp a Basic White panel (2 1/4 x 5 1/4) in Cherry Cobbler ink for the sentiment and Mossy Meadow ink for the berry sprig. Both of these use the Wishes All Around stamp set. I also stamped a punched a 2 1/4″ circle from Basic White and stamped it in the center in Cherry Cobbler ink using the Wishes All Around stamp set again. Set this circle aside for now.

Now for the fun part of decorating. I die cut two wreaths – one from Mossy Meadow card stock and one from Old Olive card stock, using the Wishes All Around Dies. I adhered these two together, off-setting them a bit. I adhered these to the stamped circle, then to the top portion of the card. I used pulled threads from the Threaded Twine to make a bow & attached it with a glue dot. Festive Pearls in Cherry Cobbler were added in groups of three. Bingo – the card is complete!

The envelope got another berry sprig on the front, stamped in Mossy Meadow ink using the Wishes All Around stamp set. The envelope flap, a piece of the Shining Christmas 12×12 SDSP adhered and trimmed to fit. Such a festive card!
