Stampin’ Up! Elephant Parade & Candy Cane Dies

Hello again… have you ever put a couple of items together just ‘off the cuff’? I had these ‘pieces’ left on my desk from the Candy Cane Dies from a project some time ago: Parakeet Party pieces just resting on Starry Sky card stock. Well, they looked awesome together, so I began playing. Here’s what happened.

Stampin' Up! Elephant Parade & Candy Canes Dies

It’s colorful for sure, right? This is my first play with the elephant bundle… and I’m a bit smitten. The eyes… the smiles.. the cuteness overload. Anyway… the sentiment is stamped in White and doesn’t stand out the way I had hoped. Embossed with white would have been better. And the balloon is colored with Tahitian Tide Blends. The elephant & mouse are colored with Smoky Slate & Ivory Blends then die cut with the Elephant Dies.

I used a template made of the Candy Canes Dies (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) for placement of all the die cuts… laid it on the card front, added glue to each of the openings (one at a time of course) and placed the Parakeet Party pieces. They came from the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 DSP. Once all were in place, I lifted my template and voila. I’m sending this to a friend of mine who has just become a first-time grandparent.

On the inside, the sentiment is stamped in Starry Sky ink and that sentiment comes from the Elephant Parade stamp set. The elephant is stamped in Smoky Slate ink and colored with same in Blends.

The envelope got a mix of Starry Sky & Parakeet Party 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 DSP to tie it all together. The mouse was stamped in Smoky Slate and the balloon in Memento Black. Just right.

Stampin’ Up! Hello Harvest and Scalloped Kraft Teat Boxes

Howdy… how are you managing? It’s been 94 here for several days, maybe up to 98 or 99 today with very high humidity. My silver fern have wilted flat; my astilbe is shrunk to nothing. We have a very shady back yard but the plants are not used to these temps. I watered tonight for a bit and the system will come on in the early morning ~ we’ll see if we can save the plants. 😩😖

Previously I have been posting using the Hello Harvest bundle and some of the products in the suite. Yesterday I posted two masculine birthday cards using other items. So… I HAD to come back and use more of the suite products… I’ve used them with the Scalloped Kraft Treat Boxes to decorate for a sweet gift.

Stampin' Up! Hello Harvest & Scalloped Kraft Treat Boxes

Here’s a side view of the completed project. The ribbon is Woven Ribbon and not part of the suite, but In liked it and decided to use it to tie the box together :O) The pumpkin is from the Hello Harvest bundle: stamped in Basic Gray for a subtle effect, then colored with Stampin’ Blends: Light So Saffron and Light Pumpkin Pie, then die cut with the Rustic Pumpkin Dies. I poked a hole in in the stem with my Take Your Pick Tool and the Stampin’ Pierce Mat in order to thread the ribbon through. I also die cut a couple of tendrils with the Rustic Pumpkin Dies in Garden Green card stock and adhered them to the pumpkin with dabs of liquid glue.

The leaf is part of the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack, which is part of the suite. I stamped the leaf with Early Espresso ink and the Friends Are Like Seashell stamp set, then threaded it through the same ribbon. You can see tied a knot in the ribbon between the pumpkin and the leaf.

Stampin' Up! Hello Harvest w/ Scalloped Kraft Treat Boxes

Here’s the top view…

Cajun Craze card stock for the base of the belly band, layered with Gingham Cottage DSP in So Saffron plaid.
Use largest of the Stylish Shapes Dies to cut a circle from the same DSP. Cut another circle in Basic White and adhere to the back of the DSP circle for strength.
Stamp the banner on Basic White card stock with Early Espresso ink for the outline and the Lovely & Lasting stamp set.
Stamp the word ‘cheers’ in Cajun Craze ink using the Lovely & Lasting stamp set, in the center of the banner. Punch with the Lasting Label Punch and adhere with dimensionals to the circle.
Add three Amber Gems from the Leaf Label & Amber Gems Combo Pack.
Wrap the belly band around the box; wrap the ribbon over it and attach the ribbon with Tear n Tape to the belly band. Tie a side bow.
Attach the circle to the belly band/ ribbon with glue dots
TIP: the belly band does not wrap entirely around the box and this circle/ banner cover that up. It is easy to slip the belly band off the box.

Here’s the side view of this adorable box. When it’s time for gift giving, I will fill with cookies as this is a food safe box! If you so wanted, it could be filled with wrapped candies too.

Stampin’ Up! Textured Chic Specialty Paper for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy Thursday! I’ve had such fun this week creating with the Seasons of Chic Bundle and the Textured Chic Specialty Paper. One of the best parts is the set is so versatile: summer with shells, fall with leaves, winter with snowflakes and MORE. It’s a timeless set! So here we are for the Blog Hop…

The them challenge is Designer Series Paper…and I’ve chose the Textured Chic Specialty Paper

And here’s my card for today…

Isn’t it amazing there is so much variety in this DSP (Textured Chic Specialty Paper) and stamp bundle: Seasons of Chic? And what I’ve done here is add snowflakes from two sources: the large one is Wonderful Snowflakes; the other two are dies in the Chic Dies. I’ve die cut them from the paper of the Wonderful Snowflakes because I liked the shine of the paper :O) Pretty cool, right?! In the center of each of the snowflakes is a Pastel Pearl.

Textured Chic Specialty Paper is layered on Basic White card stock, adhered with liquid glue. That has dimensionals and is adhered to the Basic Gray card base. Pretty simple card front. Just the same – beautiful.

For the inside, I had a piece of trimmed Textured Chic Specialty Paper on the table and adhered it to the Basic White panel. I simply added this to the inside of the card and loved the simplicity.

For the envelope… more of the same Textured Chic Specialty Paper for the flap, then the front was stamped with snowflakes from the Seasons of Chic stamp set in Basic Gray – two of which were stamped off once.

Stampin’ Up! Seasoned Chic for the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

It’s the monthly Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop! AND… the theme is celebrate summer. Oh my – so MANY bundles to chose from to share. I chose a new bundle in the 2022 Annual Catalog called Seasoned Chic. There are papers that coordinate – for several seasons – so you’ll see more use of this bundle & DSP this week :O)

Does this remind you of the beach? It should with all the shells :O) I started by doing some stamping and die cutting. On Basic White card stock I stamped the larger shell from Seasoned Chic stamp set three times in Sahara Sand ink, another in Petal Pink ink, another in Sahara Sand & Petal Pink inks ~ and die cut them all with the shell outline die from the Chic Dies. I die cut two outline dies of the same shell design: one in Shimmery White and the other in Distressed Gold. I pulled out another shell die and die cut it from Shimmery White card stock & another in Rose Gold 12 x 12 Specialty Foil. I also die cut the ‘netting’ in Gold & Rose Gold 6×6 Metallic Specialty Paper. (CLUE… I should NOT have used that paper for the netting. The little pieces were a nightmare to remove! But… I like the contrast & texture it provides for this card, so in the long run it was worth it.)

I then cut a piece of the Texture Chic Specialty Paper and mounted it on slightly larger Gold Foil. I put dimensionals on the back and adhered that to a Sahara Sand card base. Then the layers began… netting first, adhered with liquid glue; then shells – some attached with liquid glue and some with dimensionals and some with both. The little ones were tucked in with dabs of liquid glue. I would Linen Thread in a circle and slipped it under one of the shells with glue dots. Finally… Faux Sea Glass Shapes.

Again on a Basic White panel, I stamped the shell: detail in Petal Pink and the more solid stamp in Sahara Sand (stamped off). This piece was adhered to the inside of the card – and done!

Envelope… more of the Texture Chic Specialty Paper on the flap and another shell stamped on the front in Petal Pink and Sahara Sand inks – both stamped off first. Love, love the final card ~ and of course, I hope you do too.

Stampin’ Up! C’mas Banners Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Happy, happy Thursday! We have a fun creative challenge today for the hop and you may have come from Tara or just hopping in here. Either way this is what I’ve created for the hop.

I chose to really ‘stick with’ the sketch challenge today 😏 and had lots of fun doing it. The DSP for the background is Sweetest Christmas 12 x 12 DSP and I edged it with narrow strips of Pool Party. I built on that with lots of die cuts using Decorated Pine Dies for the large pine fronds, then Christmas Banners Dies for the rest of the die cuts. I wanted to use all the colors in the DSP. The sentiment banner is stamped with the Christmas Banners stamp set in Sweet Sorbet then die cut with the same dies. I added it to the card front with dimensionals under the far ends of the banner, then slipped all the other die cuts in under and held in place with liquid glue. The large pine fronds die cut in Garden Green served as the background – as mentioned using the Decorated Pine Dies. The lower pine fronds are from the Christmas Banner Dies. Next layer is the stamped in Pool Party ink leaves (and I did three) and die cut with the Christmas Banner Dies. I used Pear Pizzazz card stock to die cut the single layer of leaves – also from the Christmas Banner Dies. For the berry spray, the branches were die cut from Soft Suede card stock (again 3). The berries are stamped in Real Red ink and die cut with the C’mas Banners Dies then adhered with dabs of liquid glue to the variousSoft Suede branches. Lastly I added Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins: 3 in Garden Green above the banner and 2 in white below the banner.

For the inside of the card… I stamped a leaf bunch from the C’mas Banners stamp set in stamped off Pear Pizzazz ink, then over that with a pine spray from the same stamp set in Garden Green ink. I stamped the Merry in Real Red ink and the Christmas in Sweet Sorbet. Can you tell the difference? I like the contrast! This Basic White panel was adhered to Pool Party card stock then into the Thick Basic White card base ~ and the card was complete.

For the envelope, another bit of the same Sweetest Christmas 12 x 12 DSP on the flap and that was it. While this card has several die cuts, it is not heavy and I do not think will need extra postage – and that’s a PLUS!

Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

It’s that time of week for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. You may have come from the fun creation of Tara Carpenter or just hopped in right here. Whatever the case… welcome!

Our challenge is a color one: Black & White + color of choice. I chose Balmy Blue, which you can see in the background between the trees. Snow gets a fun tinge to it when it’s falling at dusk :O) The challenge is below.

Back to my card… I die cut the Basic White front panel with the Aspen Trees Dies. It coordinates with Perched In A Tree stamp set and comes as a bundle (which means 10% off!). Remember, this bundle is available Jul 1 – which is Friday – woohoo!!! OK, card… I keep getting distracted. I used a Blending Brush to shade the aspens and Basic Gray ink. I love the look it gave. I set that aside and took another panel of Basic White and stamped the ‘snowflakes’ in Balmy Blue. I stamped the sweet bird in Memento ink and colored it with Watercolor Pencils in Balmy Blue and Early Espresso. I used a Blender Pen to smooth the pencil lines. I die cut the bird with the Aspen Trees Dies and adhered it with liquid glue. I did move it around a bit before I found the right spot, cuz wanted him peeking out of the trees. The Aspen die cut got lots of dimensionals & was adhered to the snow-stamped panel. That was added to the Thick Basic White card base. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray ink – love, love the font! – and fussy cut it. I used Stasmpin’ Seal on the back and wrapped a length of the Simply Elegant Trim in Silver on the back, then added dimensionals and placed it on the front. Final touch – a bit of glam with three Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins in white.

For the inside… Using a Blending Brush I added Balmy Blue all around the edges of the Basic White panel, then stamped the sentiment from Perched In A Tree stamp set in Basic Gray ink. This was added to the inside of the card.

For the envelope, more Balmy Blue ‘snowflakes’ to the flap and the wonderful Aspen branch stamped in Basic Gray to the front. I really, really like this. And yes, I took some liberties and substituted Basic Gray for the Black for the challenge. :O) Now – it’s time to get on with the hop! Stampin’ Up! Christmas Banners

Hi everyone… I didn’t post yesterday, silly me. But I had a REALLY good read of the most recent National Geographic magazine AND worked outside. But… here’s a promised card done in Parakeet Party – one of the new In Colors. It may seem a bit bright, but I have to say, I really, really like it. :O)

The card base as you can see, is Parakeet Party with a die cut in the same color die cut with Candy Canes Dies and adhered to the card base with liquid glue. The next is a grouping created on the 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 DSP (Sweet Sorbet). Layers attached to the DSP are die cuts in Garden Green card stock, Lovely Layers Vellum, Soft Suede, and the berries are die cut from 2022-2024 In Color 6×6 Glimmer Paper, Sweet Sorbet. The holly is stamped in both Garden Green ink & Parakeet Party ink on Basic White. The sentiment banner is stamped in Sweet Sorbet ink with the words in Garden Green ink. This was die cut with the Christmas Banner Dies and is on dimensionals. The fabulous die cut background is a die from the Candy Canes Dies, cut from Parakeet Party card stock and adhered with liquid glue to the same color card base. Isn’t that die wonderful? The Parakeet Party is a non-traditional color for Christmas, but I really like how it all ties together. Hubby is a conservative man and I wasn’t sure what he would think either, but he liked it a lot! The last touch for the card front was three Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins in white.

For the inside… the pine frond stamp from the Christmas Banners stamp set, first in Parakeet Party, then in Garden Green on the basic white panel.

As you can see, the envelope got the same treatment: pine frond from the C’mas Banners stamp set, stamped first in Parakeet Party ink, then in Garden Green ink. What do you think of the colors? It’s hard to tell the Sweet Sorbet is not Real Red! And I have to say, I like the contrasts of color.

Stampin’ Up! Decorated w/ Happiness #2

Good Saturday morning! It’s a goin’ to be a hot one today. I’ll need to get outdoor chores done ASAP, but I do want to share this card with you first. It’s yesterday’s card in different colors – monochromatic if you will, and I like it even better.

The card base is Smoky Slate, inks for pine boughs & sentiment are also Smoky Slate; Silver Foil for the bell, pine boughs and stars; Shaded Spruce for the small boughs & Cherry Cobbler for the ‘smoosh’ behind the bell; and Whisper White for the snowflakes. And – you can see the Jingle Bell Trinket – I love the added touch and it doesn’t bother me that it contrasts with the foil.

The inside I did just a bit differently from yesterdays card – by adding the pine bough. Inks are Smoky Slate, Cherry Cobbler & Shaded Spruce stamped on a Basic White panel.

The envelope is very similar to yesterday’s card – just using Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler. And here are the photos for yesterday’s card…

Stampin’ Up! Decorated w/ Happiness

Happy Friday! We have had some stunning weather here on the East Coast… and we have taken advantage! I hope you are able to ‘get out & enjoy’ in your area of the country :O) My card for today is… guess what… a Christmas card! Whoweee! The stamp bundle comes from the upcoming, soon to be order-able Jul-Dec 2022 Mini Catalog. I was inspired by a card on page 27, just changed up a bit.

The card base is Garden Green and I’ve used Garden Green ink to stamp the pine branches in a couple of different directions. They don’t show much as the are nearly covered with the die cut pine branches from the Decorated Pine Dies from Gold Foil. (cut 2 and add to card front with dabs of liquid glue) I then stamped the ‘snow’ in Whisper White ink all over the card. Truthfully, this stamp was too busy for me – I much prefer the snowflake stamp in the Decorated with Happiness stamp set! So use that if you decide to CASE this card. Next step was to die cut the Basic White banner using the Painted Label Dies. I die cut three small pine fronds in Garden Green card stock, adhered them w/ liquid glue to the banner, stamped the ‘smoosh’ in Real Red ink as a background to the bell. Die cut the bell and several gold stars using more of the dies in this bundle. Adhere the bell with liquid glue over the ‘smoosh’, then the very cute Jingle Bell Trinket with a glue dot.. Put dimensionals on the back of the banner and add to the card front. Adhere stars with dabs of liquid glue – and the card front is done!

For the inside… stamp the sentiment from Decorated with Happiness in Garden Green ink on the Basic White panel, then add the darling ornament stamp in Real Red ink – also from the same stamp set; adhere to the inside of the card :O)

The envelope is just wonderful – at least I think so. The same pine fronds from Decorated w/ Happiness stamp set were stamped on the envelope front & flap. I stamped the same ornament from inside the card in Real Red ink to bring the card & envelope together. L-o-v-e!
