Halloween is just around the corner – well, two weeks from today is the official Trick or Treating in our area. We have a grandson that ‘needs’ a card for this auspicious occasion and I’m no0t really much of a halloween fan. I love the kids and what they do for costumes, but this candy ‘need’ seems out of control to me. But… my card…

You can see, I paired this fun Them Bones DSP with Gorgeous Grape card stock. And although there is none of that color in the DSP – it works – because it’s halloween!!! I used a variety of papers for this, but focused on spooky images :O). I also used the Glossy Dots Assortment in Gorgeous Grape to add as an embellishment.

Here you can see the inside of the card – more of the DSP than ever! I never inked a stamp for this card – which is just a shame… but cutting down DSP did the trick and I think our grandson will love it.

Here’s a photo from the top – and you can see, it’s a bit of a z-fold card.
- Card stock base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored @ 2 1/8 & 4 1/4
- Fold card base in half, then fold front section back – to form the z
- Decorate each panel with Them Bones Designer Series Paper
- Cut 2 panels of DSP 2 x 5 3/8
- Cut 1 panel of DSP 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, inside piece
- Adhere to appropriate areas as shown
- Cut coordinating or like card stock 3 1/8 x 5
- Cut DSP for this panel 3 x 4 7/8
- Adhere DSP to card stock
- Adhere this card panel to card front, centering it on the front ‘z’ so when card is closed it is centered on entire card.
- For inside, cut the BOO! from Them Bones Designer Series Paper; attach to slightly larger White panel & attach to inside of card
- Add embellishments – Glossy Dots Assortment
What’s fun about this design: the front panel can be just about any size – smaller or round or square or hexagon, depending on the decoration or type of card created. Use different Designer Series Paper & create a birthday or sympathy card – the dimensions/ directions remain basically the same. In other words, take the dimensions & make it your own. Would love to see what you create!
