Stampin’ Up! Retired items for…. Halloween

What do you do with your retired Stampin’ Up! items? I know most of us sell the retired stamps and dies – and maybe some embellishments too. Retired paper I have more trouble giving away. Why? I have no idea… maybe I’m a paper hoarder, but I don’t think so. At any rate, this Halloween is odd, would you agree? With the Covid thing, I have no idea if we will have very many kids, but I think we will. And somehow it seems to me, I needed to do something special. So I’m making these cute little bags from retired Designer Series Paper and ribbon and stuffing them with candy Here’s my basket at this point.

Retired items for… halloween – #1

You can see the Paper Pumpkin ‘parcels’ in there too, right? And these little bags have leftover parts to the recent Halloween Paper Pumpkin. Those pumpkins are just so cute! I’m not spending a lot of time on these, but they needed some kind of decoration after all.

And these are some of my extra bags…

Retired SU! DSP

What’s nice about these is they store flat – as these are. While it may be a bit late for you to create these for Halloween, they are perfect for stocking stuffers or little gifts. Here are the details.

  • Cut the Retired DSP to 4 1/2 x 6 1/2
  • Score on the long side at 2″, 3″, 5″, and 6″
  • Score on one short side at 1″. This becomes the bottom
  • Burnish all sides, then trim as shown.
Retired & trimmed for cute bag
  • Adhere the 1/2″ edge to the opposite side
  • Put the bottom together and adhere just the last fold
  • Pinch the top together to determine the middle and punch a hole for the ribbon, going through both sides. The hole will vary depending on the ribbon width.
  • Tie your ribbon – see the photos below for the two ways I tied them.

This is such a fun way to use retired Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper, ribbon and embellishments – and I think the trick or treaters will appreciate the special packaging.

That’s it for now… Thanks for stopping by.

May you have a beautiful day.

Make someone happy by sending them a handmade card

(in this case package!) made with love.

  1. I like this idea but I really wish there was a way to save your idea on Pinterest. I cannot copy and print all these things.

      1. Terry, thanks for replying and I did go to your blog ( I am following it) and it shows nothing but the single subject photos – no sidebars, no way to move forward or backward to other posts, and I cannot hover and get any way to pin or save. I have tried it on 2 different servers.
