Stampin’ Up! Darling Dino Bendy Fun Fold Birthday card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

The theme for today’s hop is ‘birthday;’ and that so fits for me. You see, this is my birthday week, mine is the 13th… :O) Happy birthday tome – and oh yes, my twin brother. I made a ridiculously fun, youthful card for a pretty BIG birthday.

Stampin' Up! AIK Blog Hop
Stampin' Up! Darling Dinos Bendy Fun Fold card front

I used the Darling Dinos bundle from the Jan- Apr 2025 Mini Catalog to create this Bendy Fun Fold card. It’s pretty simple really. I recommend doing the stamping, coloring with Blends and die cutting before doing anything else. It just gets the setup done and the rest falls in place. Stamp the dinosaur and balloons with Memento ink and color: the dino with Light Fresh Freesia and Light Petunia Pop; the balloons with Peach Pie, Pool Party and Bubble Bath. Die cut those and set aside. Die cut a few more pieces: the two parts of the dino egg and stamp with the dots from Darling Dinos stamp set, with Crumb Cake ink. Set these aside as well.

The card base itself is created with Fresh Freesia card stock 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 with a layer of Beautiful Bokeh 6×6 DSP 4 x 5 1/4 adhered directly to it. Score this piece on the long side at 2 3/4 and burnish well. Cut another piece of Fresh Freesia 3 1/4 x 5 and score on each end @ 1/2″, burnish. This becomes the ‘bendy’ and is attached to the card base, centering, by adding tear n’ tape to each ‘bendy’ end and adhering in place one end at a time.

Before adhering the die cut pieces of dinosaur, egg shell and balloons, make some marks to indicate where balloon strings and grass need to be stamped. I marked mine with a soft pencil mark that would either be covered or could be erased.

Stamp the balloon strings in Memento ink and the grass in Summer Splash ink. Add the dino with liquid glue, the eggs shells with dimensionals and the various balloons with both dimensionals and liquid glue. Stamp the sentiments on Peach Pie card stock in Memento ink, trim appropriately and add to card with dimensionals.

Here’s how the card looks from the top – you can clearly see the ‘bendy’

Stampin' Up! Bendy Fun fold from the top

I added a small Basic White panel to the back 2 1/4 x 4 and stamped a different dino. I colored it with Stampin’ Belends Pool Party for the body and Gray Granite for the nails. I stamped the sentiment in Memento ink – both are from the Darling Dinos stamp set.

Stampin' Up! Darling Dinos Bendy fold card back

For the envelope – more of the Beautiful Bokeh on the flap, adhered & trimmed to fit – and the same dino as on the card back stamped in Memento ink but colored with Stampin’ Blends Peach Pie and Pumpkin Pie and Gray Granite. Now this card is ready to SEND!

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies card front

I used Petal Pink for my standard card base (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4). I layered a Basic White panel that I ran through the Starstruck embossing folder (free item during Sale-a-bration (Jan-Feb) with a qualified purchase.) My next layer is Petal Pink 1 3/4 x 5 that I ran through the Fern 3D embossing folder, & adhered it in place. The central focus is the Spotlight on Nature circle was cut from Basic White 3×3. This gorgeous butterfly is from the Beautiful Butterfly Bundle (stamps & coordinating dies) – which also includes a Hybrid embossing folder! I created the butterfly with a wash of color on Watercolor 100 paper with Petal Pink and Flirty Flamingo inks. After drying I die cut with the Butterfly die. There are dies even for the butterfly body – which I also die cut from the same Watercolor 100 paper inked for the butterfly. I adhered the body tgo the butterfly with dots of liquid glue, then to the die cut circle. The circle is attached to the card with dimensionals. For a bit of glam, I added a double bow of Linen Thread and these (also free during Jan-Feb sale-a-bration) Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies card inside

For the inside I used a panel of Basic White (4 x 5 14) and stamped the butterfly from Beautiful Butterfly stamp set in Flirty Flamingo ink. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and stamped in Memento ink.

Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies card & envelope

For the envelope, I ran the flap through the Starstruck embossing folder and the same butterfly stamped on the front in Flirty Flamingo ink.

Now- just for fun… here’s another that I made using the Beautiful Butterflies bundle and suits the challenge, also using watercolor paper.

Stampin’ Up! Spring Corners Thank You Card Fun Fold

Happy 2025! Here it is already Jan 3… oh my goodness, hard to believe! Before I share my card I want to say thank you to those who follow my blog, who order from me, who are part of my team – you are awesome and I am thankful, grateful for you. If there is something that I can do to help you in your creativity or in communication, whatever it is, please reach out to me. I am here to help support what you desire to do. Thank you again…

My card for today has this fun addition that is the fun fold part – almost like origami. I don’t know what the fold is called, but you can find it on Wild West Paper Arts, Rae Burnet – or Karen Titus.

Stampin' Up! Spring Corners Thank You Card front

This is a thank you card for a friend of ours who is an amazingly fabulous cook – or I really could say ‘chef’. She ‘volunteers’ at our local JBJ Soul Kitchen as one of the cooks. She is awesome… We were at her home for a fun gathering recently and this is a card specifically for her and for all she does – for me, for others.

I used the Take a Bow 6×6 DSP that is retiring very soon and the Spring Corners bundle which is an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE bundle. Let’s create the origami part first…. score each side of the 6×6 @ 1 1/2″, gently score. Remove corner pieces.

Stampin' Up! Spring Corners thank you card, origami part

Can you tell in this photo that four ‘corners have been removed? I hope so! After doing that, fold in to the score line, the right hand portion of the remaining bit – you can see the folds here. Cut a Real Red panel 3 x 3 and adhere to the center of the Take A Bow 6×6 DSP. Cut a panel of Basic White 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 and stamp using the Spring Corners Stamps. Here I did the sentiment in Garden Green ink and the bouquet in Real Red ink, then adhere it to the Real Red panel. Set aside.

Cut a piece of Basic White 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 to create the card base. (You could make the card base 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4). Add a panel of Take A Bow 6×6 DSP cut to 4 x 5 1/4 and adhere to the card base. With a 3 3/4 x 5 Basic White panel, stamp the corner sentiment in Real Red ink – using the Spring Corners stamp set. Adhere the ‘origami’ fun fold with liquid glue, then add three berries from ______________ just below the origami fold. And DONE!

Stampin' Up! Spring Corners Thank you card back

On the back of the Basic White card base I added die cut ‘corners’ from the Spring Corners dies and Garden Green card stock. I decided not to add any more sentiment as I want to say thanks to this woman who has worked so dedicatingly well with me this year and is such an amazing individual.

Stampin' Up! Spring Corners Thank You card & envelope

For the envelope… more of the Take A Bow 6×6 DSP adhered to the envelope flap and this sweet, sweet floral bouquet stamped in Real Red ink on the envelope front.

Stampin’ Up! Bloom Impressions Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome… we have a swketch challenge today… and I have chosen to work with some new OINE EXCLUSIVE and Sale-a-bration products for this card.

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop

Stampin' Up! Blooming Impressions DSP

Notice how the rectangles go from light to dark – and that’s what I tried to do with this new Bloom Impressions 12×12 DSP from the 2025 Sale-a-bration catalog. It goes live Jan 7, 2025.

The stamped images are from the new ONLINE EXCLUSIVE Mixed Labels stamp set. (it’s also a bundle – meaning it has accompanying dies, but I did not use them here) I used Melon Mambo ink. The sequins are also a Sale-a-bration product and are Purple Adhesive-Backed Sequins. (this packet has four shades of purple – these look more pink to me and I thought they went well with the DSP) The baker’s twine is from the 2024-2025 Annual catalog and is Baker’s Twine Three Color Pack.

The rectangles are all 3 7/8 x 1 1/4 and adhered to the Basic White panel (4 x 5 1/4). I wrapped the twine around the panel twice and tied a bow, securing it with a glue dot, then attached the panel with dimensionals to the Melon Mambo card base (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2).

Stampin' Up! Mixed Labels stamp set, card inside

On the inside, I stamped this cute floral image and the ‘thank you’ in Melon Mambo ink on the Basic White panel – both from the Mixed Labels stamp set – and the card was complete. Oh my goodness, so simple. I kept wanting to add ide cuts to the front but was reluctant… wanted to follow the sketch challenge. :O}

Stampin' Up! Blog Hop Sketch Challenge
Stampin' Up! Sentimental Christmas card front

Fun, clear, simple card for the sketch challenge today. I began with a piece of the Sentimental Christmas 12 x 12 DSP cut 4 1/2 x 3 1/4. I ran it through the Snowflake Sky 3D embossing folder for added texture, then adhered it to Pretty Peacock 4 x 5 1/4. I added the Adhesive-Backed Snowflake Assortments in White, then topped those with Basic Rhinestone Jewels in the smallest size in the center of those snowflakes. On a 1/2 x 4 pice of Basic White, I stamped the sentiment from Sophisticated Sled stamp set in Pretty Peacock ink. I added it to the panels with dimensionals, then attached two more of the Adhesive-Backed Snowflake Assortments, this time in Copper and added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel in those as well. This completed 4 x 5 1/4 panel was added to the Pretty Peacock card base (8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4).

Stampin' Up! Sentimental Christmas card inside

On a 4 x 5 14 panel of Basic White, I stamped this gorgeous tree in Pretty Peacock ink (2nd generation) using a stamp from Decorative Trees stamp set. Using full strength Pretty Peacock and a sentiment from Decorative Trees stamp set, I stamped inside the tree. I added a single Copper Adhesive-Backed Snowflake to the treetop and a single Rhinestone Basic Jewel in the center of the snowflake. This panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

Stampin' Up! Sentimental Christmas card & envelope

For the envelope, more of the Sentimental Christmas DSP on the flap adhered & trimmed to fit. On the front I stamped images from Decorative Trees in Pretty Peacock ink. I really like the contrasting c opper of the snowflakes – adds something special…..

Stampin ‘ Up! Sentimental ChristmasDSP for tthe Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Thursday morning – and time for another Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! We have a fun sketch challenge today and I’m using Sentimental Christmas DSP for the main focus. Let’s take a look…

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' blog hop
Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Blog hop sketch challenge
Stam[pin' Up! Sentimental Christmas card front

I am so loving the new Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder from the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog! I embossed a Garden Green panel in that Forever Plaid EF (4 1/4 x 5 12) and adhered it to the Garden Green card front (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2). I took a panel of the Sentimental Christmas DSP (3 1/2 x 5) and adhered it to a slightly larger Basic White panel and added it to the card front with dimensionals. I cut a 1 5/8 x 2 5/8 Basic White and added a tree from the Sentimental Christmas DSP that I die cut w/ Peaceful Evergreen Dies. It isn’t an exact match but I thought it worked! I used a Sentimental Christmas DSP scrap 1/2 x 3 to stamp the sentiment in Poppy Parade ink. The sentiment comes from Greetings of the Season stamp set. I angled one end and attached with dimensionals. As a final touch I added three Real Red & White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints – which have become an all-time favorite!!!

Stampin' Up! Sentimental Christmas card inside

For the inside of the card I added a strip of the Sentimental Christmas DSP to the Basic White panel then some presents that I fussy cut from the Sentimental Christmas DSP. I stamped the sentiment in Garden Green ink using the Sentimental Wishes stamp set. This was adhered to the inside & bingo – the card was complete!

Stampin' Up! Sentimental Christmas card and envelope front

For the envelope… more of the same pattern for both the envelope flap (2 1/4 x 6) adhered & trimmed to fit) and for the envelope front (5/8 x 5 3/4). This is a very traditional Christmas card & I love the colors & the DSP. The sketch was a fun challenge. And the thing about this challenge, it could be done with just about ANY of the DSP patterns & images stamped to coordinate. The sentiment could easily be changed to happy birthday or just a note or thinking of you. – making a wonderful card set gift pack. IDEA!!!

Stampin’ Up! Changing Leaves Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to our hop… you may have come from the talented Tara or just popped in here. However you arrived at my blog – hello! On our walk yesterday we saw trees with changing colors already – so surprised as here we are at the beginning of September. Cool nights have been as low as 49 degrees – and for this early in September – gosh! Here we are though and the theme challenge for this Thursday Blog Hop is fall leaves.

Stampin' Up! Changing Leaves Bundle 9/5

My card base is Cherry Cobbler 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. Layered to that is Crushed Curry 4 x 5 3/8. I took a panel of this stunning gorgeous Season Elegance SDSP from the Sep-Dec 2024 Mini Catalog cut about 6×6 and ran it through the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder (ONLINE EXLUSIVE). I trimmed it down to 3 1/2 x 5 and reserved what was left for the envelope flap (2 1/4 x 6). With the trimmed down embossed piece I used a Blending Brush and Cajun Craze ink and Crushed Curry ink to color many of the leaves – not darkly, but enough to create shading/ highlighting. I added this panel to a Cajun Craze 3 5/8 x 5 1/8 and attached them to the card front with dimensionals. I die cut one leaf and two ‘sprays’: the leaf in Crushed Curry that I again used the Blending Brush and Cajun Craze to color; the two sprays in Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze. These are from Changing Leaves dies. I added them to the front with liquid glue and a double bow from the Natural Tones Linen Thread in Copper Clay with a glue dot. I stamped the sentiment from Changing Leaves stamp set in Cajun Craze on a scrap of Basic Beige and die cut it with a die from Changing Leaves Dies. This was attached over the die cuts with dimensionals. The final touch is embellishments – Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins in Copper Clay.

Stampin' Up! Changing Leaves bundle, inside

For the inside… Another panel of Crushed Curry (4 x 5 1/4) adhered to the card base. The stamped image is on a Basic Beige panel 3 1/2 x 5 and is from the Changing Leaves stamp set. I used Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze inks along with Sponge Daubers (page 88 in the Annual Catalog) to create color on the maple leaf stamp.

Stampin' Up! Changing Leaves Bundle card & envelope

For the envelope, I used the very same maple leaf stamp and without re-inking it, spritzed it with water in a Stampin’ Up! Spritzer and stamped it on the envelope. The flap has more of the Seasons of Elegance SDSP that was embossed with the Changing Leaves Hybrid embossing folder.

Now… time to move along on the hop and see what wonderful creations are in store for you – Carol is next, so click on the next button to go straight to her site. Enjoy the hop!

Stampin’ Up! ‘Fall Frenzy’ for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Good Tuesday… it’s that time for another AIK blog hop – and the theme is ‘fall frenzy’. I’ve chosen to use Changing Leaves Bundle which includes the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder, Changing Leaves Dies and the stamp set. It’s a great bundle! I’m also using Gold Mercury Vellum SDSP – and it creates a totally different look. There is so much gold in this paper! I colored the leaves from the backside of the vellum with Stampin’ Blends: Dark Cajun Craze, Dark Mossy Meadow and Dark Blackberry Bliss. It didn’t turn out quite the way I expected, but against the Basic Beige, I like it. And I like the sentiment embossed in gold as well – ties it all together.

Stampin' Up! Changing Leaves Bundle card front

Here’s what I did… I ran a piece of 6×6 Gold Mercury Paper through the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder with the Changing Leaves in it as well. Remember, these dies fit securely on the side with the Stampin’ Up! name, cut side up and the Designer Series Paper (or card stock, whichever you are using) is next, then close the folder and run it through the machine. It both embosses and die cuts at the same time.

Next I colored each of the leaves on the back side of the vellum with the colors noted as above. This was done randomly, with no precise criteria. I tried making it look similar to a real fall leaf. I don’t think I succeeded as the Cajun Craze appears way too pink to me. But I like the gold and I like the coloring so used it anyway :O)

Back side of leaf, colored w/ Blends
Stampin' Up! Changing Leaves maple leaf, back side colored
Back side of maple leaf, ready to adhere
Stampin' Up! Changing Leaves leaf, right side

Here is the back side of the maple leaf colored and ready to adhere: puddle of liquid glue and sponge to dab glue on leaf back, then attach to card. It works great and no adhesive marks showing!

Here is the front side of the leaf after coloring – mottled by the gold and various colors showing through, similar to a REAL leaf :O)..

I ran a 4 x 5 1/4 panel of Basic Beige through the Exposed Brick 3D embossing folder and adhered the leaf frond directly to it, smoothing it to secure the edges. I attached a Blackberry Bless strip 1/2 x 4 near the bottom. With VersaMark ink, I stamped the sentiment from Changing Leaves stamp set on a Basic Beige piece 1 1/4 x 4, sprinkled Gold embossing powder over it and heat set it, first from the back, then to finish it, on the front. Why do this? It secured the powder without blowing it off the paper, then after a few seconds with the heat to the front and it glows miraculously – melting the powder to a shiny gold! I die cut this with the appropriate die from the Changing Leaves Dies and added dimensionals to the back and attached it over the Blackberry Bliss strip. As a final touch, I added three Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins in gold. This panel was added to the Basic Beige card base (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2) with dimensionals.

Stampin' Up! Changing Leaves maple leaf card inside

I did the same process on the maple leaf as the leaf frond on the card front and adhered it to the Basic White 4 x 5 1/4 insert. This was added to a Blackberry Bliss panel 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 then to the inside of the card. I added three more of the Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins surrounding the maple. And – Finis!!!

Stampin' Up! Changing Leaves card & envelope with Gold Mercury Specialty Paper

I decided not to color these leaves and instead adhered them directly to the flap and envelope front. I like the shiny – and I like them without the coloring. but hey – I HAD to try it and use it as planned :O). This is a great neutral card – for man or woman.
