Stampin’ Up! Biggest Wish Gift Package

Oh Golly – I just realized this sounds like the post may be about a box of some sort. So, right off the bat – no, it isn’t. What I did was create a set of four cards as a package set for a gift. And I used more of the Pattern Party DSP to do it. I get on a roll using a specific stamp set or DSP and well – it just happens… :O) Here are the four cards…

I like how each is different and yet the same. I cut down pieces to 2 x 6, trimmed off 3/4″ then cut again at 3 1/4. That left me with 2 x 2 & 2 x 3 1/4. The next decision was which side to use ~ and you’ll notice the back & white had a stronger pull. Once divided these were matted on a panel 4 1/8 x 5 3/8:

  • Card 1 matte was Garden Green then a strip of the Woven Ribbon in Pale Papaya & White adhered with Seal+. I cut two die cuts using the Scalloped Contour Dies, stamped the sentiment with Memento Black ink from the Biggest Wish stamp set on the smaller banner, attached dimensionals to them and adhered them over the ribbon. I then added the Real Red bow from the Playful Pets Trim Pack. The bow was attached with a glue dot.
  • Card 2 matte is Crushed Curry. To that I added a die cut from thee Ornate Frames Dies. This was stamped using Memento Black ink and the Biggest Wish stamp set, mounted on the card with dimensionals and two Playing with Pattern Resin Dots were added.
  • Card 3 matte is Rich Razzleberry. The Ornate Layers Dies was used to die cut a frame from another piece of the Rich Razzleberry cs. The Stitched Rectangles Dies has the perfect rectangle to fit inside that frame, and it was cut from Basic White card stock. It was stamped with ‘thanks’ from Biggest Wish stamp set and Memento Black ink. It was adhered with liquid glue to the Rich Razzleberry die cut, then that got dimensionals and added to the card front.
  • Card 4 matte is So Saffron. A length of Gingham Ribbon in Bumblebee was wrapped around at the join and adhered in back with Seal+. I used the Painted labels dies and more So Saffron to create this fun extended circle. It was adhered directly to the card front with liquid glue. I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut the sentiment center from Basic White cs. After stamping (yep – Biggest Wish stamp set in Memento Black ink), this was added with dimensionals. Three Playing With Pattern Resin Dots were added – and another card front done.
  • The card bases for cards 1, 3 & 4 are Basic White cs.
    • card 1 & 3: 8 1/5 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
    • card 4: 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
  • The card base for card 2 is Crushed Curry cs 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
  • All card front were adhered with liquid glue to the card base.
  • Cards 1, 2, & 4 had a 4 x 5 1/4 panel of Basic White cs.
    • Card 1 got strips of Pale Papaya, Flirty Flamingo & Garden Green that coordinated with the pattern on the card front.
    • Card 2 got a 3/8″ strip of the Pattern Party DSP adhered to Basic Black
    • Card 4 got a 3/4″ strip added directly to the Basic White panel.
  • Card 3 has three 3/4″ strips 2″ wide. The center strip was added first, then the other two and they were trimmed on the ends.

You can see that each envelope got the same treatment: Pattern Party DSP 2 1/4 x 6, adhered with liquid glue and trimmed to fit. And the card set was done – ready to wrap with a ribbon and gift. :O) Fun set to do.

Stampin’ Up! Biggest Wish B’day & Scraps

Happy day after the 4th! Did you enjoy the fireworks? Oh my goodness, beautiful – and lots of fire crackers around us both before& after the fireworks. We went out on the front porch and it sounded like shooting…. our dog didn’t like it so much, so we went inside. Taking care of our pets really must be high on the priority list!

Today’s card is super simple… I used some scraps that were in 2″ pieces, some square, some not + Pattern Party DSP.

Biggest Wish B’day & Scraps.1

This could so easily be a masculine card – and I’m grateful for that as it wasn’t my first intention. Masculine cards just don’t come easily and this fits that bill if/ when I need it 🙂 There are actually three pieces here that are 2″ square, one is 2 x 3 1/4 and another is 2 x 1 1/4. They are all adhered to a Coastal Cabana panel then directly to the Basic White thick card base – with liquid glue. I then used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to die cut two pieces. On the smaller die cut is stamped the Birthday in Coastal Cabana ink then the happy in Memento Black ink. This was added to the larger piece with dimensionals & the larger die cut was added to the card front, also with dimensionals. Two Playing w/ Pattern Resin Dots were added for that final touch – and the card front was done! Easy peasy, right?

For the inside I kept it simple too – another scrap strip from Pattern Party adhered to Coastal Cabana and added to a Basic White panel, which was adhered to the inside of the card. Dome!

For the envelope I actually cut a piece for the envelope flap – from Pattern Party DSP, adhered it with liquid glue and trimmed it to fit. That’s it and ready to send… <:)

Stampin’ Up! Blends, Alcohol & Picture This Dies

Happy July 4th! Got big plans? Whatever they are, may you have fun and be safe… Today’s card is made with Stampin’ Blends & Alcohol for the basic background, the Seascape stamp set and Picture this Dies.

The background was made on Vellum by adding color sporadically then spritzing with 91% alcohol. When using this alcohol, make certain the area is well vented. It is very strong! I wish I had taken a picture of just the Vellum & inks, before stamping on it. The piece was very special. So, why did I cover it…. who knows… but I do like the end result. Colors used to create the background were Dark Night of Navy & Dark Cajun Craze, both Stampin’ Blends, and as mentioned earlier, spritzed with 91% alcohol. Once dry, I mounted it with liquid glue onto a Basic White card piece.

I die cut a piece of Basic White using the Picture this Dies and used that to show where I needed to stamp. As mentioned earlier I used the Seascape stamp set to create the images: Garden Green ink for the tall lanky seaweed; Calypso Coral for the coral, and Crumb Cake for the fish (they are hard to see and are in the bottom middle window!). I laid this aside to dry – the seaweed took some time as it is a semi solid stamp and the ink pad a bit inky. Once dry I put dimention on the back of the Basic White ‘frame’ and mounted it over the Vellum. This whole panel was then adhered to Misty Moonlight card stock with liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment using the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set on a Basic White strip, fussy cut the ends then added it to another Misty Moonlight strip and did the same treatment for the ends. This got dimensionals and was added to the card front. Three Blue Adhesive-backed fems were added and the card front was done!

For the inside, I added a strip of the Blends-treated Vellum that I had trimmed from the basic piece to a Basic White panel and that was it. The panel was added to the inside of the card with iquid glue.

For the envelope… I took a piece of Misty Moonlight and ran it through the Painted Texture Embossing Folder, then added it to the envelope flap and trimmed it to fit. I used this embossing folder as I wanted it to look like rumbling sea 🙂 For the front of the card I stamped the fish using Calypso Coral ink, then the bubble stamp with Misty Moonlight ink – a school of fish! And the card was done.

Fun project! I hadn’t used the Picture This Dies before, nor have I played enough with the Seascape bundle. Card cuts will be listed at the end of this post. Stampin’ Up! Trifold Birthday Card

Hello stampers! Today’s card is a fun fold I have not done in – well, a long time. No reason really, just haven’t. I guess we could call it a Cascading Fun Fold and I’ve used the Pansy Patch bundle & Pansy Petals DSP to create this beauty.

Isn’t this fun? And it’s for a dear friend who is turning 95! I couldn’t resist doing something special for her. Here are the basic steps for creating a Cascading Tri-Fold.

  • Begin with a card base cut 5 1/2 x 12 and score on the long side at 4 & 8. Burnish score lines as shown.
  • Mark 1 3/8″ from bottom left corner and cut from that point to the second score line. See photo.

  • Create panels for decorating. I chose the Pansy Petals DSP and coordinated several papers – as you see.
    • Panel 1 is 3 3/4 x 3 1/4, then trimmed at the desired angle.
    • Panel 2 is 3 3/4 x 5 1/8, then trimmed at the desired angle. Cut two of these in able to decorate opposite side.
    • Panel 3 is 3 3/4 x 5 1/4
    • Adhere each with liquid glue.

  • Decorate as desired with die cuts or stamping.
    • I used the Pansy Petals DSP and the Pansy Dies to die cut straight from the DSP each of the pansies – five of them is various colors & sizes.
    • The leaves are die cut from Mint Macaron & Soft Succulent card stocks and adhered together with liquid glue.
    • On panel 1, I used the Playful Alphabet Dies for the numbers (in Evening Evergreen cs), the Painted Labels Dies for the Basic White and the Layering Circles Dies in Evening Evergreen cs for the background of the die. This was adhered with dimensionals. The banner was stamped in Evening Evergreen ink on a 3/8 strip and the ends fussy cut. This was adhered with mini dimensionals. The sentiment comes from Pansy Petals stamp set.
    • On panel 2, (gingham side) the leaves are adhered directly to the card and the pansies are on dimensionals.
    • On panel 2 (Bumblebee side) the pansies were adhered directly to the card.
    • On panel 3 the sentiment was stamped in Evening Evergreen from the Pansy Petals stamp set and the pansy adhered with liquid glue.
    • For a final touch I added several Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.
    • And the card is complete!

For the envelope, the flap got more of the Pansy Petals DSP. For the front I stamped a pansy from the Pansy Petals stamp set: Pale Papaya stamped off once, then Calypso Coral full strength and for the center, Bumblebee. Voila! This will be sent in today’s mail so she gets it in time for her celebration – so pleased…

TIP: For cutting the DSP panels on the angle… cut the panels (say 3 3/4 x 3 1/4) then lay on the angled card base and make a line on the DSP. Trim and adhere!

Stampin’ Up! C’mas Card w/ Blends / Alcohol

WooHoo! It is Jul 1 ~ and do you know what that means? 15% off select Designer Series Papers – Yippee! I’m placing my order right after this post goers live – oh, and you can find more information below.

Today’s card is super simple but does take some planning ahead to create the ‘backdrop’ or your own DSP. Here’s the card…

  • C’mas Card w/ Alcohol / Blends.1

Can you see the use of the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder? I think the second photo shows it better. I was hoping it would show more, but it doesn’t so much. I love the look though. And the Gilded Leafing in a few places adds an elegant element and it kinda looks like lightning going through the trees. The front sentiment comes from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set, gold embossed & die cut with the Ornate Layers Dies then layered on a larger panel of Just Jade card stock.This sentiment banner was mounted on dimensionals and added to the card front. I added three Holiday Gems for a bit of glam 🙂

Steps for making the card front:

  • Begin with a panel of Vellum 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
  • With the darkest of Stampin’ Blends, add color to the Vellum. Here I used Dk. Just Jade & Dk. Granny Apple Green.
  • Spritz with 91% or greater Alcohol just till colors begin to ‘move’. If necessary, lift the Vellum for the alcohol to run a bit. The Vellum will curl some on the edges but once you have the colors the way you want them, just leave it flat to dry. This does not take very long. You can work on the rest of the card while waiting OR you can use the low setting on your heat tool to help it dry faster.
  • Once the Vellum is dry, trim to the size desired (I cut this to 4 x 5 1/4) and reserve the cut pieces.
  • Adhere it to a panel of Basic White – same size. There are two ways to do this…
    • Idea 1: Use a piece of sponge and lightly add liquid glue all over the card stock, then adhere Vellum to it.
    • Idea 2: Use Stampin’ Seal along the edges and a swipe down the middle of the Basic White panel. It’s important to get it to the edge of the card stock as the Vellum can still curl.
  • Run through the Evergreen Forest Embossing Folder
  • Adhere this Vellum/ Basic White to a layer of Gold Foil Sheets cut slightly larger (4 1/8 x 5 3/8) with liquid glue.
  • Adhere this to the card base (Just Jade 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2) – again with liquid glue.

For the inside of the card…

On a panel of Basic White, adhere one of the remaining strips with Stampin’ Seal. Stamp the tree in Evening Evergreen ink stamped off once, then the ‘grass’ in Just Jade, also stamped off. Adhere the panel to the inside of the card with liquid glue. This tree & grass is from the Evergreen Elegance stamp set.

For the envelope…

C’mas Card w/ Blends/ Alcohol.4

Adhere the remaining Vellum strip to the envelope front w/ Stampin’ Seal. Stamp the flap in full strength Just Jade ink using the ‘splotch’ from the Artistically Inked stamp set.

Love how this turned out! And creating the card front with Vellum, Blends & Alcohol was freeing…. In other words, it is creativity at work. I encourage you to try this using various colors. What’s to lose?

Stampin’ Up! Feel Better w/ Artistically Inked

I have a quick & easy card for you today using the fabulous bundle Artistically Inked – and a few other items too. The more I play with this set, the more I like it. The stamps are distinctive stamps, with lots of variation and oh so versatile.

Feel Better w/ Artistically inked.1

For the front of the card, I took a Basic White panel and ran it through a new embossing folder called Pretty Flowers and it is lovely. I mounted it on a Thick Basic White panel the same size for strength. The rose is stamped in Polished Pink and the leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz (on Basic White scrap) and die cut with Artistic Dies. The gold trim is from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack. The are some leaves from the pack as well and I turned them over to the white side and stamped them with one of the stamps in the Artistically Inked stamp set – again in Pear Pizzazz ink. They are the ones that look just a bit splotchy at the top of the rose. I then stamped the sentiment from Back On Your Feet stamp set on another scrap of Basic White in Pear Pizzazz ink and die cut it with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Everything is adhered with liquid glue except the rose and the sentiment banner; they are attached with dimensionals. For a final touch I added a linen thread bow with a glue dot and the fun adhesive-backed sequins are also from the Artistically Inked Ephemera Pack – and I added three. This front panel was attached to a Thick Basic White card base with dimensionals ~ and the front was done.

For the inside I stamped the ‘splotchy’ using one of the stamps in Artistically Inked stamp set in Pear Pizzazz, stamped off once. Then I over-stamped in Polished Pink, the sentiment from Positive Thoughts stamp set, again on a Basic White panel. This was adhered directly to the inside of the card with liquid glue and the card was complete.

For the envelope, I took that same ‘splotchy’ stamp and stamped it on the envelope flap with Polished pink ink – full strength. Before stamping, I had added sticky notes to the fold so I wouldn’t stamp on the front 🙂 The front of the envelope got a single stamp of the rose, again in Polished Pink. And voila!

Love this stamp bundle – Artistically Inked, and the new embossing folder – Pretty Flowers. Can’t wait to play with that some more.

Stampin’ Up! Hand-Penned M&M Anniversary Card

Remember how beautiful I said it was yesterday? While it is only 65, it is humid, humid – to the point where it’s difficult to breathe. Ugh! We can’t have it beautiful all the time, right? Today’s card utilizes the Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack – again. It is so easy to use.

Hand-Penned M&M Anniversary.1

You might be asking which parts of this card are from the card pack… the card base, the portion with the flower, the Petal Pink for the sentiment banner, and of course the envelope is from the Hand-Penned Memories & More Cards & Envelopes.

The Pattern Party DSP panel is adhered directly to the card base with liquid glue (3 3/8 x 3 7/8). The M&M card panel is adhered to Pale Papaya cards stock (yep, liquid glue) that is 3 1/8 x 4 1/8. I stamped the sentiment from Elegantly Said stamp set in Memento Black ink onto a white banner from the card pack and added it directly to the Petal Pink banner from the card pack. I placed dimensionals on the back of the Petal Pink banner and adhered it to the card front. Two Matte Black dots were added and the card front was complete.

For the inside, I added more of the same Pattern Party DSP (4 x 5 1/2) to the card base. I then stamped the flower from Hand-Penned stamp set in Memento Black ink, then the sentiment from that same set – also in Memento Black ink – to the Basic White panel (3 3/4 x 5 1/4). This was adhered directly to the DSP and the card was done.

I did nothing extra to the envelope – it is beautiful as it is! Voila – ready to go… I really like how adding a bit of this and a bit of that to the Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack creates such beauty.

Stampin’ Up! Half Pinwheel Card

Hello again – it’s Friday! We have gorgeous weather here on the East Coast – about 72 degrees, sunny and fabulous. Tomorrow it will be hot once again, so we are appreciating this weather. As a matter of fact, I was extra lazy this AM – sat on the front porch with my coffee & the birds singing – in lieu of posting! UGH!!! So here I am AFTERNOON and sending it out. 🥴

Today’s card is one we did in class yesterday and I’m really pleased with the way it turned out – a half pinwheel card. Here two that I have done and those in the class as well. They didn’t want to be in the photo!

Each of these is different from the next but the same dimensions and the same idea. The photo on the left uses the Fine Art Gallery DSP that retires Jun 30 and the right card uses the Simply Succulent Suite of products – also retiring Jun 30. The nice part about this card is that it fits an A2 size envelope – finished size is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

& instructionsDimensions:

  • Card base is 5 1/2 x 7 1/8 scored on the long side @ 1, 2, 3 & 4″. Cut another panel 3 1/8 x 5 1/2.
  • Burnish well on score lines; fold together to form a box. Adhere the last fold to the long side of the card base with liquid glue.

  • Adhere the 3 1/8 x 5 1/2 panel to the extended section. It will look like a Z when added.
  • Adhere decorative panels to appropriate sections: 2 1/8 x 5 1/2; 3 1/8 x 5 1/2
  • Using third largest of the Stitched So Sweetly dies, die cut a sentiment panel. Stamp the appropriate sentiment. The one on the left is from Elegantly Said stamp set. The sentiment in the right photo is from Simply Succulents stamp set.
  • Adhere to the front panel with dimensionals so that when ‘closed’ the banner is centered on the card.
  • Decorate as desired. The left card had Champagne Rhinestone Jewels added. T
    he card on the right had felt flowers from the suite of products and a lovely double bow using the linen thread from the set.

On the back of the card I added more DSP and die cuts using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to add a special note.

Half Pinwheel Card.4

Before adhering the left panel to the back of the card, I wrapped the same thread around once and tied a sweet bow leaving long tails to drape the card. Since the thread is so thin, there was little added dimension and the DSP remained flat once adhered. I do like how this added a finishing touch to this card!

On this card, I used Calypso Coral card stock run through an embossing folder. I really liked the added texture to the card. Additional DSP was added to the envelope flap that coordinated to the card front – from the Simply Succulent Suite of products.

And that’s it! Fun project.

Stampin’ Up! Anniversary Card w/ Hand-Penned

Oh my – I am smitten with Hand-Penned: Memories & More Card Pack, Memories & More Cards & Envelopes, the DSP, the bundle, the whole nine yards! For my project today I’ve created another anniversary card.

Anniversary Card with Hand-Penned.1

I used the card pack (Hand-Penned Memories & More Card Pack) to create the pretty polka-dot banner as well as the floral background for the sentiment. They are heavier weight than the DSP, so have a strength that doesn’t require a backing. After trimming the banner to make it 2″ wide, I used the Tailored Tag Punch to create the end. This was adhered just at the top to a slightly wider Basic White panel, and the end was trimmed to match the polka dot one. I wrapped the Open Weave Ribbon in Pale Papaya around the top and tied a bow, adhering the knot with a glue dot. This was adhered to the card front (from the Hand-Penned Memories & More Cards & Envelopes) with liquid glue. The sentiment banner background piece was die cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and added to the Garden Green 5/8″ wide strip with Seal+. I stamped the sentiment from Elegantly Said stamp set in Memento Black ink on a Basic White scrap then die cut it with another of the fantastic dies from Stitched So Sweetly Dies. This also was mounted with dimensionals on the background panel. Three 2021-2023 In Color Jewels were added for a bit of glam – love the added touch! The Garden Green strip was now added to the card front with dimensionals and the card front was done…

For the inside, I took a panel of Mint Macaron (3 1/2 x 5 1/2 and adhered it to the inside of the card. I then stamped the pretty floral from Hand-Penned stamp set in Memento Black ink on a Basic White panel (3 1/2 x 5).
