WooHoo! It’s time for another fabulous Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. Below is the sketch challenge ~ and just so you know, I was very liberal in my interpretation of the sketch :O)
And here’s my card… don’t you just love these palm trees? They were die cut with the Palms Dies from the sparkly Ombre Specialty Paper (why haven’t I used this paper more often???). I’m not certain the variation shows very much in the picture, but it does in person. In my interpretation of this sketch, I moved the center panel to the bottom of the card and in lieu of flowers I bordered the panel with grasses, also die cut using the Palms Dies. As I mentioned – loose interpretation.
The background paper is the wonderful Pattern Party DSP adhered directly to the Flirty Flamingo card base. I adhered the left palm with liquid glue, then the center palm with dimensionals cut down to fit and liquid glue at the bottom of the trunk. The right palm tree was also adhered with liquid glue, slipping it under the center palm and trimming the trunk to the proper length. I cut two of the grasses to fit below the palms: in Garden Green and the new Parakeet Party card stocks. The banner is 3/4″ and trimmed at each end with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink using the Through It Together stamp set. I adhered the banner with liquid glue and dimensionals along the bottom and right end. I die cut two more of the grasses, this time from Mossy Meadow card stock and adhered them with liquid glue and dimensionals. I added several (too many???) Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels both to the banner and in the palm trees. Those in the trees represent coconuts! (You know, vivid imagination.) My final step was the sun, cuz something was missing on the card without it. I die cut the sun, again using one of the dies in the Palm Dies, from a sticky note, then with a Blending Brush and So Saffron ink, colored it in. And the card front was done.

For the inside, I stamped the small palms in Mango Melody ink after adhering this wonderful panel of Flirty Flamingo card stock die cut with another of the Palm Dies. The strip was adhered with dabs of liquid glue (isn’t it a fun addition?). The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink, again using the Through It Together stamp set. All of this was on a Basic White panel that was adhered to the inside of the card when completed.

The envelope got another small group of the palms stamped in Mango Melody ink. More of the Pattern Party DSP was adhered to the flap and trimmed to fit. Done, done! This was another one of those cards created out of my usual comfort zone. Experimenting is a good thing! It was inspired by a T-shirt I saw advertised with palm trees across the front and a striped background.

Oh my – who doesn’t love a fun fold? This was so. much. fun. And it fits all the criteria for the…
So yes, Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop AND a color challenge. I just may have used more than three :O), but who’s counting! Here’s my card:
Artfully Layered Fun Fold.1
This was inspired by several folks who have made this fun fold, but mainly my upline Mary Deatherage. What makes this fun is the ladybug is sort of ‘free’. In other words, that diagonal is movable. This fun fold is called, I think, a Corner pop-up. I used three different Designer Series Papers on this card: Artfully Composed 12 x 12, (retiring May 2), In The Wild 12 x 12 (also retiring May 2) and Waves of the Ocean (available only while supplies last). The stamp sets used were: Artfully Layered for the inside sentiment + the greens on the envelope; Artistically Inked for the front sentiment. I also used the Tropical Layers Dies, Tailor Made Tags Dies for the sentiment banner on the front, and the very, very sweet Ladybug Builder Punch. Card stocks used were: Thick Basic White for the card base, Evening Evergreen for background pieces and the ladybug, Shimmer Vellum in Pale Papaya for the wings of the ladybug, Calypso Coral and Just Jade for the leaf die cuts. I used Just Jade ink for the front sentiment and Calypso Coral ink for the inside, Old Olive ink for the front of the envelope. Embellishments: Bumblebee Trinkets, Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots and Open Weave Ribbon in Pale Papaya. This card fits perfectly in an A2 sized envelope and will definitely need extra postage due to thickness. It will also need an ‘overlay’ so the bumblebees do not poke through the envelope. 😳 So fun to do…. Can’t wait to see your creations with this fun fold :O)

See in the center photo just above how some of the Artfully Composed DSP is covered by the Evening Evergreen card stock for the ‘flap’? I just didn’t like that… and made yet another card and look what I did with that bendable flap… I adhered it first and put the DSP panel on top of it. Thick Basic White card base: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 2 1/8 & 4 1/4
Evening Evergreen: 2 x 5 3/8 (2); 1 7/8 x 1 7/8 (2 – for diagonals on card front); 2 x 2 (2, cut diagonally into triangles); 2 7/8 x 2 7/8 (2 – score ONE on the diagonal)
DSP: 1 7/8 x 5 1/4 (2); 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 (2- for diagonals on card front – keep in mind if there is a direction to this paper!); 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 (2 – cut diagonally into triangles – place on card for proper direction!!); 2 3/4 (1- cut into diagonal for placement behind ladybug – only one diagonal will be used)
Basic White: 2 3/4 (1 – for stamping inside sentiment ON THE DIAGONAL!) + enough scrap for sentiment banner on card front

Hi Everyone! TGIF!!! Whew – long, busy week – how about you? And here it is almost weekend and well, still full plate. Not complaining, just sayin’… Today’s card is not my usual style, it’s a bit on the modern side. The thing is – I really like this paper :O). It’s called Abstract Beauty 4 x 6 DSP. This sort of ‘brush stroke’ look is modern and fun. The butterfly definitely softens the look.
Abstract Beauty Support.1
Several layers here, but that is what makes it fun – it keeps the eye moving.
Card base is Thick Basic White 8 1/2 x 5 12 scored at 4 1/4
Abstract Beauty background layer is 4 x 5 3/8 adhered to the card base
The next panel is also Abstract Beauty 3 x 3 1/2 and adhered.
The stripe layer is yet another panel of Abstract Beauty 1 1/2 x 5 and adhered directly
On a 5/8″ strip of Basic White, stamp the sentiment in Just Jade ink. The sentiment comes from Through It Together stamp set. I punched the one end with the Tailored Tag Punch. This was attached with dimensionals.
Die cut a Vellum circle with the Layering Circles Dies.
Adhere the butterfly about in the center of the circle with liquid glue just along the body.
The butterfly was created by using a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz inks on a Basic White piece, then die cutting with the Brilliant Wings Dies.
Add dimensionals to the Vellum circle but just along the body of the butterfly. The reason is the dimensionals will show if added anywhere else and here they are hidden but still give dimension to the piece.
Add several Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels on the circle, butterfly and on the sentiment panel. Done!
Abstract Beauty Support, inside
For the inside I added a scrap of the background Abstract Beauty DSP with liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink – from the Through It Together stamp set. And the final touch here – two of the adorable and perfect Brushed Brass Butterflies. The Basic White panel was adhered to the inside of the card and voila ~ the card is complete.

Hello one and all! Welcome to the talented Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop! It’s always fun to meet a sketch challenge and I turned the sketch to make this card.
Brilliant Wings Die.1
And here’s our sketch…
I started with this beautiful butterfly… using a Blending Brush and various inks (Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Pear Pizzazz) I colored a Basic White piece then die cut the butterfly (Brilliant Wings Dies) from that panel and again from Vellum. I then layered those butterflies together with Stampin’ Seal. With a panel of Basic White 3 x 5 1/2 and using my Stamparatus to make certain the sentiment was straight and centered and placing the butterfly in the approximate position but not adhering it, I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point ink (after removing the butterfly!). That sentiment comes from the Through It Together stamp set. I then added the butterfly with liquid glue. Notice I left the wings and the antennae free :O)
The next step was the create the card base itself: Thick Basic White cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2. Add strips of Coastal Cabana about 1/4″ from each edge, then another strip of Pacific Point. Add the butterfly panel and the final touch are the lovely Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels. (These can be purchased as part of the Waves Collection right now ~ and only available while supplies last., They will NOT be in the 2022 – 2023 Annual Catalog.) As you can see there are several shades of jewels and I mixed them up because of the butterfly.

The envelope got special treatment with a piece of Abstract Beauty 4 x 6 DSP adhered to the flap and trimmed to fit. I stamped the butterfly right on the DSP using the Butterfly Brilliance stamp. First I inked with Coastal Cabana, then picked up the Pacific Point and inked just the lower wings. You could easily do this with a sponge dauber but I was lazy and just used the ink pad.

After cleaning the stamp I repeated the process of inking the butterfly with Coastal Cabana then tapping the lower wings with Pacific Point. and stamped the front of the envelope.

Hello folks – it’s Monday here and c-o-l-d: 21 degrees w/ winds gusting to 20 mph. what happened to our Spring? Right… Spring means variant weather, so there it is. My card today shouts Spring… and it’s reminiscent of my card for Thursday’s Blog Hop.
Pansy Petals 2.1
Can you see that fun background? It’s the Stitched Greenery Die used on a Basic White piece then adhered directly to the Thick Basic White card base, standard A2 size. The Pansy Petals 12 x 12 DSP is cut 1 x 45 1/4 and adhered directly to 3 1/4 x 4 3/8 Calypso Coral. I wrapped a length of the Cotton Ribbon in Petal Pink around the two, tied a bow & secured it with a glue dot. This was adhered to the card front with Dimensionals.
I stamped the wonderful image from Honeybee Home stamp set with Stazon ink on Shimmery paper.I used Stazon ink as I wanted to watercolor the image and this ink works best with watercoloring. :O) Using a water painter and Daffodil Delight ink, I pressed really hard on the ink pad to get ink onto the lid, and colored the flowers. I did the same process with Soft Succulent ink and a water painter for the leaves on this image. Using the coordinating Honeybee Bloom Dies, I die cut the image, put Mini Dimensionals on the back and adhered it over the ribbon. For a final touch I added three Bumblebee Trinkets.

For the inside I used another stamp from the Honeybee Home stamp set, stamped in Stazon ink again, this time on a Basic White panel. These flowers were colored with Calypso Coral ink and a watercolor painter, using the same process as above. Here’s a photo of the ink pad with ink squeezed onto ink pad and a water painter to color the flowers.

To the right is the completed inside: stamped & water colored. Notice how the flowers vary in shading – that’s intentional!! No two flowers are exactly the same in nature and shouldn’t be when we color them :O)
The panel was adhered to the inside of the card with liquid glue.
And the envelope… another piece of Pansy Petals DSP adhered to the flap & trimmed to fit. Perfectamundo.

Happy Thursday! Today is the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop and the challenge is flowers – a real spring thing, right? And here’s my card…
Pansy Patch.1
This is the right time of year for pansies isn’t it… when it’s still a bit cool and not wicked hot that makes everything melt. I began by embossing with the Greenery folder and a Basic White panel. This is a narrow embossing folder and therefore with a wider sheet of card stock it’s important to match the embossed portion when running it through again. I think you can see that the embossing matches perfectly – yay! That panel was adhered directly to the Thick Basic White card base.
Next I took the beautiful Pansy Petals 12 x 12 DSP and cut three panels 1 x 4 1/4. These were adhered with liquid glue to an Evening Evergreen panel just slightly larger than the three when put side by side with just a bit of space in between (3 1/4 x 4 3/8). I wrapped that with the the beautiful (and springy) Grossgrain Ribbon in Highland Heather and tied a knot, securing it with a glue dot.
Stamp the more solid pansy in Pale Papaya ink, stamping off once. Stamp the shading stamp in full strength Pale Papaya. Stamp the inner in Blushing Bride and color the center with Daffodil Delight. That doesn’t really show as I ended up adding a jewel in the center :O). Die cut with the Pansy Dies; put dimensionals on the back and attach over the ribbon. Now die cut the two leaf pieces with Soft Succulent card stock and Evening Evergreen, putting them together with liquid glue. Slip this leaf behind the pansy adhering with liquid glue. Add the Holiday Gems as centers for the two pansies as shown – and the card front is done!

For the inside I stamped the sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink on a Basic White panel. I adhered that to an Evening Evergreen piece slightly larger and those two were attached to the inside of the card. I added three more of the Holiday Basic Jewels and the card was complete.
On the envelope front I stamped the smaller pansy from the Pansy Patch stamp set: background is Pale Papaya stamped off once; shading is Pale Papaya full strength; center shading is Calypso coral and the very center is Daffodil Delight. The envelope back got more of the Pansy Petals 12 x 12 DSP. LOVE this card ~ so friendly and fresh… and versatile!

Hello Everyone! Things have been a bit on the rough side here at home: hubby has been in severe pain w/ back issues and finally had surgery a week ago today. Whew! He is in recovery mode and we are very hopeful!!! For those of you who knew what was going on, thank you for your prayers. We could feel the Power of God’s Presence and are so grateful. Keeping cards still pretty simple, I’m again using the Heart & Home Mem’ries & More Card Pack + the coordinating Cards & Envelopes. This is one of the smaller notecards in the set ~ take a look-see.

The card base is the smaller notecard in the Cards & Envelopes, the woodgrain. The bumblebee portion is 1/2 a small card in the Card Pack, trimmed a bit. That card is adhered to Cinnamon Cider card stock cut 1/4″ larger and put on dimensionals, I added a length of the shimmer ribbon in Gray Granite for accent with Tear n’ Tape and attached to the notecard. I stamped the sentiment from Honeybee Home in Basic Gray ink on a scrap of Basic White and fussy cut it, put mini dimensionals on the back and added it. Three Metallic Pearls in Silver were the final touch. LOVE…

Today’s card uses mostly Waves of the Ocean 12 x 12 DSP ~ it’s stunning! Some of the prettiest paper ever.
Waves of the Ocean DSP is adhered to a layer of Pacific Point then directly to the Basic White card base. A coordinating layer of Waves of the Ocean DSP was adhered to Calypso Coral card stock, put on dimensionals & attached to the card front. Stamp the pelican on a Basic White panel in Crumb Cake ink, then with a dauber add a bit more to specific areas of the stamp to add more dimension. It’s better if using a Stamparatus to do this as it can be stamped multiple times and be in the right spot :O) Die cut the pelican using the Waves Dies, then add with dimensionals. Stamp the sentiment in Pacific Point ink on a Basic White piece and die cut with a Waves Dies banner die. I then took a length of the same DSP and clipped to make banner points, folded it back on itself and slipped it through each end of the banner and adhering it together. This was done on both ends of the banner. I put dimensionals on the left end of the banner and liquid glue on the other and adhered it over the bottom of the pelican. I added three of the Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels and the card front was done :O)
For the inside I again stamped the pelican with Crumb Cake ink on a panel of Basic White, using a sponge dauber to add more Crumb Cake in specific areas. I then took a ruler and a Balmy Blue Marker to create the fun lines around the pelican. I also used a Pacific Point Marker for more color. I adhered the panel to a Pacific Point piece and then into the card inside.
For the envelope I used the Stamparatus for this very large wave stamp and Pacific point ink to stamp the wave. Notice how the wave disappears off the bottom edge – I did this intentionally! I used a Blending Brush and a bit of Balmy Blue ink to color in the wave. It doesn’t show much in this photo, but it’s very cool!! And the card/ envelope were done!
