Stampin’ Up! Black & White + One, Part 2

I couldn’t help it… I just HAD to make a card to go with the cute gift box from yesterday… It is super simple. The Striped paper is from the Beautifully Penned 12 x 12 DSP that is FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order. The other main products are the Scalloped Contour Dies and the Poinsettia Dies. I also used two different embossing powders for a modern-type look (goes with the stripy paper, don’t you think so?) Black Embossing Powder for the sentiment on the front of the card (from Poinsettia Petals stamp set) and White Embossing Powder for the poinsettias on the inside of the card and front of the envelope (also from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set.) And the plus one is the red ~ Real Red card stock for the berries & background papers & the Wonderful Gems in red.

Black & White + One, Part 2.1

I wanted to keep the same stamp set/ dies to make this a unified set – remember yesterday’s box. If you didn’t see that post, you may view it here. However, I will be giving directions for the box in today’s post.

Card info & very basic directions: (this card is so simple, it doesn’t need a lot of explanation)

  • Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
  • Real Red card stock 4 7/8 x 3 5/8 (cut 2), 2 1/2 x 3 1/8 + scrap for berries
  • Basic White card stock 2 3/4 x 3 (die cut piece for front – Scalloped Contour Dies), 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 (inside panel)
  • Beautifully Penned DSP 3 12 x 4 3/4, 2 1/4 x 6 (envelope flap)
  • VersaMark ink + Black Embossing Powder for the front sentiment: heat set
  • VersaMark ink + White Embossing Powder for the poinsettia on the inside panel & the front of the envelope: heat set. I did use a sponge dauber & Real Red ink for the envelope front but don’t like the effect!!
  • Three Wonderful Gems in red
  • DSP & Real Red are adhered together with Stampin’ Seal, then added to card front with dimensionals
  • Scalloped panel is adhered to Real Red with Stampin’ seal, then added to card front as shown with dimensionals
  • Berry die cuts adhered with liquid glue and slipped in. Each was cut apart to create the fullness

This card goes so nicely (I think) with the box…

Black & White + One, Part 2.4

The box directions:

  • Cut paper 4 x 12
    • score on the long side 1, 5 1/2, 6 1/2, and 11
    • score on the short side at 1 & 3
    • burnish

Trim as shown in photo, add Stampin Seal on small trimmed pieces, fold together adhering. Lid folds over the top.

For the DSP box I did add reinforcement to the bottom, using Thick Basic White and the same DSP, adhering them in with Seal+.
