Stampin’ Up! Little Dreamers Happy 4th

Happy 4th of July! Today’s card is a ‘take’ on the 4th of July using the LIttle Dreamers bundle AND the Stargazing DSP.

Isn’t this lion CUTE!? This card could so easily be given for a 4th birthday, but it is intended for the 4th of July post :O) This DSP, Stargazing is stunning, AND it has a hint of reddish color in the upper right corner. What it says on the package is Berry Burst is a coordinating color, so I did use that for accent – but pretend it’s red, ok? You know, red, white and blue… The Basic White cloud at the bottom of the card is die cut with the Basic Border Dies and 1 1`/4″ of card stock. The stamped sentiment is done with Starry Sky ink, covering a portion of the stamp in the Little Dreamers stamp set, stamping then cleaning the stamp and re-inking just the last word, also in Starry Sky ink. In between, I die cut stars using one of the dies in the Little Dreamers Dies and Berry Burst card stock. Just the top star was adhered with a mini dimensional, the other two and the cloud were added with liquid glue onto the Stargazing DSP. The lion is of course, from Little Dreamers stamp set and stamped in Memento ink on the Basic White panel. I colored it with Stampin’ Blends: Daffodil Delight for the star, Wild Wheat for the larger portion of the lion, Crumb Cake & SU300 for the mane and Lemon Lolly for the lions belly. He was die cut with the Little Dreamers lion die and attached to the card with dimensionals. This whole Stargazing panel was added to a Berry Burst piece, then to the Starry Sky card base.

For the inside, Starry Sky ink on the Biggest Wish stamp set ‘happy’, stamped on the Basic White panel. Then the 4th was stamped in Berry Burst ink using the Alphabest stamp set. A 1/2″ strip of the Stargazing DSp was added to the bottom to continue the theme from the front. In hindsight, it should have been adhered to the top of the Basic White panel – but you know, hindsight. This piece was added to Berry Burst and adhered to the inside of the card.

For the envelope – real simple… a bit of the Stargazing DSP on the flap + a small strip of Berry Burst to continue the theme of red, white & blue – HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Stampin’ Up! Masculine Birthday

Today’s card is oh so masculine. I’m loving the layers and the colors – and the Designer Series Paper. In Good taste DSP is part of the 15% off Designer Series Paper Sale through Aug 2. If you don’t have this package of papers, now is the perfect time to get it. Let’s look at the card.

The Biggest Wish stamp set was used for the sentiment on the front of the card: the happy was stamped in Cherry Cobbler while the BIRTHDAY was stamped in Early Espresso – on a Basic White panel.This was layered on Cherry Cobbler card stock slightly larger. But we should start at the beginning…

Thick Basic White card base 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
Cover the card front with a panel of the In Good Taste DSP 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, adhering with liquid glue
Layer another piece of In Good Taste DSP (4 1/4 x 3 3/4) with Cherry Cobbler ( 4 14 x 4)
Adhere this to the card front, centered.
Layer a vertical strip of Early Espresso 1 3/8 x 5 1/2, adhering with liquid glue.
Add the sentiment layer with dimensionals (Basic White panel is 2 3/4 x 2 and the Cherry Cobbler panel is 3 x 2 1/4)
Add three Opal Rounds – and the card front is done!

Stamp the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler ink on a Basic White panel (4 x 5 1/4). The sentiment comes from the Hey birthday Chick stamp set.
Adhere a Cherry Cobbler “frame” 3 /3/4 x 5. (This was in my stash)
Die cut the number 40 (or some other number) in Cherry Cobbler and in scraps of In Good Taste. Adhere together with tiny dots of liquid glue. Adhere under the sentiment. Having the number front & center is the perfect touch for this card. I took a picture before the numbers were added and you can see how it’s rather plain, but with the numbers – well, they make it ‘pop’. The numbers were created using the Playful Alphabet Dies. Do you notice how having the two layers of numbers creates a shadow effect?

I added coordinating DSP from In Good Taste DSP pack to the envelope flap. I stamped the balloons in Cherry Cobbler ink – from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set – and voila! The card is complete. My friend is picking up the card this morning.

Stampin’ Up! Biggest Wish Gift Package

Oh Golly – I just realized this sounds like the post may be about a box of some sort. So, right off the bat – no, it isn’t. What I did was create a set of four cards as a package set for a gift. And I used more of the Pattern Party DSP to do it. I get on a roll using a specific stamp set or DSP and well – it just happens… :O) Here are the four cards…

I like how each is different and yet the same. I cut down pieces to 2 x 6, trimmed off 3/4″ then cut again at 3 1/4. That left me with 2 x 2 & 2 x 3 1/4. The next decision was which side to use ~ and you’ll notice the back & white had a stronger pull. Once divided these were matted on a panel 4 1/8 x 5 3/8:

Card 1 matte was Garden Green then a strip of the Woven Ribbon in Pale Papaya & White adhered with Seal+. I cut two die cuts using the Scalloped Contour Dies, stamped the sentiment with Memento Black ink from the Biggest Wish stamp set on the smaller banner, attached dimensionals to them and adhered them over the ribbon. I then added the Real Red bow from the Playful Pets Trim Pack. The bow was attached with a glue dot.
Card 2 matte is Crushed Curry. To that I added a die cut from thee Ornate Frames Dies. This was stamped using Memento Black ink and the Biggest Wish stamp set, mounted on the card with dimensionals and two Playing with Pattern Resin Dots were added.
Card 3 matte is Rich Razzleberry. The Ornate Layers Dies was used to die cut a frame from another piece of the Rich Razzleberry cs. The Stitched Rectangles Dies has the perfect rectangle to fit inside that frame, and it was cut from Basic White card stock. It was stamped with ‘thanks’ from Biggest Wish stamp set and Memento Black ink. It was adhered with liquid glue to the Rich Razzleberry die cut, then that got dimensionals and added to the card front.
Card 4 matte is So Saffron. A length of Gingham Ribbon in Bumblebee was wrapped around at the join and adhered in back with Seal+. I used the Painted labels dies and more So Saffron to create this fun extended circle. It was adhered directly to the card front with liquid glue. I used the Layering Circles Dies to cut the sentiment center from Basic White cs. After stamping (yep – Biggest Wish stamp set in Memento Black ink), this was added with dimensionals. Three Playing With Pattern Resin Dots were added – and another card front done.
The card bases for cards 1, 3 & 4 are Basic White cs.
- card 1 & 3: 8 1/5 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
- card 4: 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2

The card base for card 2 is Crushed Curry cs 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
All card front were adhered with liquid glue to the card base.

Cards 1, 2, & 4 had a 4 x 5 1/4 panel of Basic White cs.
- Card 1 got strips of Pale Papaya, Flirty Flamingo & Garden Green that coordinated with the pattern on the card front.
- Card 2 got a 3/8″ strip of the Pattern Party DSP adhered to Basic Black
- Card 4 got a 3/4″ strip added directly to the Basic White panel.

Card 3 has three 3/4″ strips 2″ wide. The center strip was added first, then the other two and they were trimmed on the ends.

You can see that each envelope got the same treatment: Pattern Party DSP 2 1/4 x 6, adhered with liquid glue and trimmed to fit. And the card set was done – ready to wrap with a ribbon and gift. :O) Fun set to do.

Stampin’ Up! Biggest Wish Masculine Birthday

The Biggest Wish stamp set just arrived recently and it is a fabulous stamp set. I’m going to share two cards with you today, both using this set. One is a sort of fun fold, simple & easy but a change from the ordinary. The other is more traditional. Both are masculine cards – and birthday. Here is the fun fold card…

The Designer Series Paper is called Well Suited and it is from the Jan-Jun Mini Catalog – which retires 30 June! Some of the coordinating papers for this DSP are Night of Navy, Smoky Slate, Cajun Craze and of course Basic White, which I have used. The stripy piece flips up for additional sentiment.

And here’s how I created this… the Night of Navy card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. 1/2″ from the left edge, I adhered another panel of Night of Navy cut 2 1/4 x 10 1/2 and scored at 5 1/4. Leaving this panel open, I adhered the Well Suited DSP 4 x 5 1/4 over this and right to the top of the fold on the panel. I then attached the striped pattern of the DSP ( cut 2 x 5). For the Basic White panel, I stamped the sentiment first in Night of Navy ink and that comes from the Days to Remember stamp set. I then stamped the balloons in Cajun Craze ink, also from the Days to Remember stamp set and used the Night of Navy marker to create the tails of the balloons. The balloons on the left were stamped off once. This panel is just a tad wider – 2 1/8 x 5 and adhered in place. Back to the front of the card… I stamped the word happy from the Biggest Wish stamp set in Smoky Slate ink on a Basic White piece then punched it with the Tailored Tag Punch. I punched another from Cajun Craze card stock, cut it in half vertically and adhered it to the back of the tag with liquid glue. I cut a length of Smoky Slate Textured Ribbon, made pointy ends and adhered it on the front flip panel with Seal+. The sentiment banner got dimensionals and was adhered over the ribbon. For a final bit of bling – even guys need bling now & then – I added three Artistry Blooms Adhesive-Backed Gems – and the front was complete! Foolish me, I did not take a picture of the back… but I did cut a panel of Basic White 4 x 5 1/4, stamped the large BIRTHDAY in Smoky Slate ink at the bottom left corner, then stamped the scripty word happy in Cajun Craze ink above it. This gave enough writing room for something fun.

For the envelope, I stamped the scripty word birthday in Smoky Slate ink, along the side, then the word happy in Cajun Craze ink. Both come from Biggest Wish stamp set. The flap was covered in more of the Well-Suited DSP.

Card #2… super simple, still using the Well-Suited DSP and Biggest Wish stamp set.

Here I used a different piece of the Well-Suited DSP and coordinated it with Pacific Point and Smoky Slate, with a bit of bling using the Metallic Pearls in silver. The card base is Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2. The DSP is 3 3/16 x 4 1/4 adhered to Pacific Point card stock 3 3/8 x 4 1/4. Both were added to the card front with liquid glue. I stamped the large word BIRTHDAY in Smoky Slate ink then the scripty word happy in Pacific Point ink. then added the three Metallic Pearls in silver… and the card front was done!

For the inside – Well-Suited DSP 5/8 x 4 1/4 adhered with liquid glue to a Pacific Point piece 3/4 x 4 1/4. This was added near the bottom of the inside of the card and the inside was complete.

For the envelope, I used another panel of the Well-Suited DSP and adhered it to the flap and voila – that was it! Here are the two cards together…

I have really enjoyed playing with the Well-Suited DSP. It has been perfect for many masculine cards. And now that I have played with the Biggest Wish stamp set, it will be used a lot! DANG! just checked and the Well-Suited DSP is sold out!!! That’s good for Stampin’ Up! – not so good for you…
