Stampin' Up! Zoo Crew DSP. Thurs. hop

Participating in a hop is a fun way to get “outside your comfort zone”, do something you haven’t done before, try something new. My card base is a standard A2 size with an embossed layer in the same color, just slightly smaller. This is embossed with an ONLINE EXCLUSIVE product called Basic 3D Embossing folders. The set has three embossing folders included and the one I chose is called Crosshatch 3D Embossing Folder. I happen to use it a lot. Next I added a panel of the Zoo Crew DSP to the embossed panel and adhered both of these to the card base. I die cut this bear reading a book using the Stylish Shapes Dies and the Zoo Crew DSP. It had a partial image from the DSP that I didn’t want so I covered it with a strip of Basic Black. I added this image with dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set and die cut it with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouette Dies, and added it with dimensionals as well. I used Memento ink for the stamping.

Stampin' Up! Zoo Crew card inside

This card is going to a man who is having some challenges and I’m wanting to keep things really light & kind of funky colors – so this worked well. The sentiment let’s him know I / we are interested in what’s going on and hopefully because it’s a handmade card, it will also signify we care about what’s happening in his life. The sentiment is again stamped in Memento ink and comes from Charming Sentiments stamp set. Stamped on a Basic White panel, this was added to a Basic Black piece to make it really stand out. Both are adhered to the inside of the card – and voila, done!

Stampin’ Up! Cheerful Daisies & Glorious Gingham

Good Friday morning! I had a card class yesterday and we made a card and a card holder. The Glorious Gingham is just such a fresh-looking DSP and I used Blueberry Bushel for the card base, a win/win. True confessions, I took this layout from a teammate Akiko Sudano cuz I really liked it :O) Thank you Akiko! Wished I had taken photos of the other cards: Berry Burst, Pretty Peacock & Pecan Pie – they were all stunning.

Stampin' Up! Cheerful Daisies & Glorious Gingham

After choosing the desired DSP, I began die cutting layers of daisies & extra leaves from Basic White card stock using Cheerful Daisy Dies. I decided on Granny Apple Green to die cut backgrounds for the leaves & Daffodil Delight for a single flower center. I used my Blends Light Daffodil Delight for coloring the center of the top left daisy and for coloring the center medium daisy on the lower left. Layers from the top down… Glorious Gingham 3 x 4; Basic White 3 x 4 ~ adhered together with liquid glue on an angle. ~ popped up on dimensionals and added to Vellum Basic Specialty DSP 2 x 5 and card base Blueberry Bushel 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. The daisies/ leaves are also on dimensionals. And for me, I like bows (:O) so I used the Silver-Threaded Twine, pulled a few of the strands apart and made this fun bow. It adds a country charm to the card, I think. I also added the 2023-2025 In Color Dots in Wild Wheat.

Stampin' Up! Cheerful Daisies & Glorious Gingham, inside

For the inside of the card, a 3/4 x 5 1/2 strip of Glorious Gingham added to a Basic White panel 4 x 5 1/4, then this fun daisy from Cheerful Daisies stamped in Daffodil Delight and Pecan Pie inks. The Pecan Pie was stamped off once.

Stampin' Up! Cheerful Daisies & Glorious Gingham card & envelope

For the envelope… more of the same Glorious Gingham on the flap and the same stamped daisy on the envelope front – yes, in Daffodil Delight & stamped off Pecan Pie. I just may have to make this in several of the Glorious Gingham colors! Alas – another post :O)

I hope you enjoyed today’s card. If you would like to order any of the supplies to make this card, please list me as your demonstrator. You may order from me here. I have a current HOST CODE 64NDVS4D that lets me know when you order so you get a FREE GIFT from me. How do you get that??? Stampin’ Up! Let’s Go Fishing DSP

Oh, this paper is so pretty – love the colors. I’ve combined the DSP with Misty Moonlight, Boho Blue and Wild Wheat to create this card. It’s all about letting the Designer Series Paper do the work for you :O)

Stampin' Up! Let's Go Fishing

I began by choosing the papers from this pack that I wanted to use and after trimming down to the size I wanted, I added them to a layer of Boho Blue for the larger panel and Wild Wheat for the smaller one. I wrapped Linen Thread twice around the smaller set and tied a knot, then put the two layered panels together with dimensionals and onto the card base (Misty Moonlight) also with dimensionals. I like the layered look :} I cut a strip of Misty Moonlight about 3/4 x 2 1/2 and trimmed the ends with the Happy Labels Punch. Dimensionals were added to the top & bottom of the strip to overlay the Linen Thread. I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink on a Very Vanilla strip, trimmed the ends and added it to the Misty Moonlight – again with dimensionals. Oh – the sentiment… comes from the new & exciting Inked & Tiled stamp set! I added three Adhesive-Backed Solid Gems in Boho Blue for a bit of an accent and the front was complete.

Stampin' Up! Let's Go Fishing DSP inside

For the inside, I fussy cut one of the fish, added Stampin’ Seal to its back and attached it to a Very Vanilla panel. I have someone specific in mind for this card so want to leave room to write a message. :0} Great masculine card, don’t you think so?

Stampin' Up! Let's Go Fishing card & envelope

For the envelope, more of the DSP on the flap and a small fussy-cut fish adhered to the front. And Voila! Love the simplicity and the freshness of this masculine card.

Stampin’ Up! Countryside Blossoms and Timeless Arrangements

WooHoo! May 2 and the new catalog is LIVE. There are some real gems in this catalog and one of them is the Countryside Inn Suite found on pages 62-63. For today’s card I used the Countryside Blossoms Embossing folder, the Countryside Corners Dies and the coordinating Countryside Corners stamp set. I also used another new product ~ the Timeless Arrangements Bundle found on page 67. I found this combination worked really well for this particular card.

Stampin' Up! Countryside Inn Bundle

Night of Navy and Basic White are just stunning together ~ they add a note of elegance to a card and this one is no exception. I began with a Thick Basic White card base. I then ran a piece of Basic White through this amazingly beautiful Countryside Inn Embossing Folder. It created such wonderful texture and an excellent background for a card. Having run this through the machine, I re-grouped and came up with a new plan… this was too pretty to cover up the way I had planned. I pulled out the new Timeless Arrangements bundle and die cut a couple of items from Basic White. I went back to the Countryside Corners stamp set and inked up this large single stamp in Night of Navy ink, then die cut the very center portion from it with the appropriate die. I stamped the sentiment on this rectangular piece in Night of Navy ink using the Timeless Arrangements stamp set. I adhered the die cut pieces from the Timeless Arrangements dies to the back of this rectangle, then added dimensionals to the back and attached it to the embossed panel. This embossed panel was adhered to a Night of Navy just slightly larger, then with dimensionals I added it to the card base.

Stampin' Up! Countryside Inn, inside card

For the inside… I wanted to carry out the Night of Navy theme and added a panel to the inside of the card. Since the Timeless Arrangements stamp set was already on my desk, I inked the single flower in Night of Navy ink and stamped it on a Basic White panel and on the envelope front. This was attached to the inside of the card and nearly complete.

Stampin' Up! Countryside Inn Bundle card & envelope

I added a strip of the Countryside Inn DSP to the envelope flap, trimmed it to fit and one & done!

Love this… but know this could be done in a variety of colors: for contrast… instead of Night of Navy, the new Berry Burst, Blueberry Bushel or Pretty Peacock; Moody Mauve might be a nice contrast or the Copper Clay.

Click on the image above for a copy of the catalog – oops, one day too early for that!!! If you do not have a demonstrator, I would be happy to work with you. Simply drop me a note and we’ll get you a hard copy of the catalog and answer any questions you might have.

Kits are available and they are super easy … a great way to gather some friends and have some fun. You can find the selection here

Stampin’ Up! Fancy Flora for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome, welcome to this fun hop! You will see some fabulous projects today so be sure to make the full circle of those participating.

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop
Stampin' Up Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop Challenge

Our sketch challenge is as you see to the left, lots of open space. I chose to use an embossing folder called Painted Posies 3D embossing Folder to be the center of attention. Behind in is a panel of Crumb Cake card stock and behind that is the Fancy Flora DSP (retiring!).

As you can also see, I’ve tied a ribbon around the embossing folder – and that is the Windowpane Check ribbon (retiring!). Just beneath the ribbon are three Opal Rounds (also retiring!) Do you get what I’m doing? Yep – using retiring product because it needs using and new items are quickly taking over :O)

Stampin' Up! Fancy Flora for the hop 4/13

For the inside of the card, you can actually see the card base… Sahara Sand. I used another panel of the Fancy Flora DSP that really coordinates well with the card base. This is an ‘all occasion’ kind of card, one that can be sent just to connect with another to show you care. Near the bottom I adhered a narrow strip (about 1/4″) that goes the full width of the DSP panel – and really like the look. I like the way it ties everything together.

Stampin' Up! Fancy Flora for Thur hop, inside

For the envelope I used another piece of the Fancy Flora DSP to adhere to the flap – and that was it.

Stampin’ Up! Two-Tone Flora Bundle for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We have a fun sketch challenge today that was pretty fun. You may have come from the talented Tara – or simply popped in here. Whatever the case, I hope you enjoy what you find.

Stampin' Up! Happy Inkin' Thursday Blog Hop
Stampin' Up! Sketch Challenge 3/30

And here’s my Two-Tone Flora Bundle card to go along with the challenge.

Stampin' Up! Two-Tone Flora Bundle

The Two-Tone Flora Bundle is just stunning and it coordinates with Fancy Flora DSP. This large die can make a card all on it’s own, but I chose to use it this way this time. It’s layered on a card base of Soft Succulent. The Fancy Flora 6×6 DSP was die cut with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies then wrapped with a length of Open Weave Ribbon in Soft Succulent that I tied at the end with White twine from the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack. I added this panel to the front with dimensionals. The sentiment comes from Something Fancy stamp set, is stamped on a Basic White strip with Evening Evergreen ink. I cut another fancy scallop (LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS DIE!) using the Painted Labels Dies, added this to the back of the sentiment strip, then trimmed the ends of the banner. This was also added with dimensionals to the card front. For a bit of bling, I added three green Loose Frosted Dots with dabs of liquid glue.

Stampin' Up! Two-Tone Flora card inside

For the inside of the card I took one of the flowers from Two-Tone Flora stamp set: inked the more solid stamp in Soft Succulent ink, then the more detailed stamp in Evening Evergreen ink. I added leaves from the same stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink – all on a Basic White panel. This was added to the inside of the card. I tend to prefer liquid adhesive for the flexibility of moving it before it sets. But if you are more comfortable using Stampin’ Seal – use that!

Stampin' Up! Two-Tone Flora Bundle card & envelope

For the envelope… more of the Fancy Flora 6×6 DSP for the flap and this wonderful leaf spray stamped in Evening Evergreen ink. This stamp comes from Two-Tone Flora stamp set.

Price Changes Coming With The 2023-2024 Annual Catalog

Stampin’ Up! let us know that some of the items in the new catalog will have higher prices when the catalog is launched on May 2.  The prices for all items that are carrying over will continue to be the current catalog prices through May 1.  So now is a great time to stock up on any favorites before the price increases happen in early May!  We have not been told any specifics on the amount that the prices will increase but we have been given a list of items that will increase in price with the new catalog.

Due to increased costs to produce these items, beginning May 2 new prices will be in effect within the following product categories:

  • Cardstock
  • Designer Series Paper
  • Specialty Paper
  • Notecards and Envelopes
  • Classic Stampin’ Ink Pads and Refills
  • Stampin’ Blends
  • Stampin’ Write Markers
  • Select Specialty Inks
  • Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machines and plates
  • Embossing Folders
  • Punches
  • Take Your Pick products
  • Storage
  • Clear Blocks
  • Select tools
  • Select adhesives
  • Select stamp sets
  • Paper Pumpkin

Updated pricing will be reflected in the new 2023–2024 Annual Catalog.  I’ll be mailing out the catalogs in mid-April to my ordering customers so take a peek when it arrives in your mailbox.  The good news is you will have time to order any last-minute items before the new pricing starts May 2. Keep in mind those items that are carrying over: inks, card stocks, notecards & envelopes, etc. and purchase those prior to the price increase.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. May you have a beautiful day.

Make someone happy sending them a handmade card filled with love.

Stampin’ Up! True Beauty Bundle for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Oh goodness… daffodils are in bloom, crocus & star flower too, & jonquils – it’s begging, the transition to S-P-R-I-N-G! And the theme for today is Spring Celebration! Does that seem appropriate or what! So glad you joined us to see what we have created for you.

Stampin' Up! AIK Team Blog Hop 3/14/23

My card uses the Awash in Beauty DSP as its focus & I have used True Beauty stamp set and it’s coordinating Organic Beauty Dies to enhance the project. Let’s take a peek.

Stampin' Up! True Beauty Bundle for Spring Celebration hop.3/14/23

Designer Series Paper most often has two sides, one is highly decorated, the other side is more subtle. I’m calling this the DSP Wrap-Around. It may be called something else by other folks, but this is what I’m calling it. 😀 Let me tell you why by explaining how to create this card for yourself.

Begin with a piece of Awash in Beauty DSP cut 5 1/2 x 6 and score on the long side at 1/2″ and 4 3/4. The long side is the direction of the ‘landscape’ of the DSP. Burnish the score lines, folding the 1/2″ back and the 4 3/4 score forward. With this Awash in Beauty DSP, the forward section is the part that shows the pink & white check. The next step is to find two coordinating 1/2 x 5 1/2 strips that bring out the colors of the DSP. Here I chose Granny Apple Green and Polished Pink. These strips were adhered to the wrap around of the DSP on the right, then the DSP was adhered to itself on this same side to make it flat. This created a coordinating fabulous edging! Next, I took a piece of Blushing Bride card stock cut just shy of 4 1/4 in width and a full 5 1/2 in length, and adhered it to the 1/2″ end of the Awash in Beauty DSP to create a full card. More decoration was needed, so I die cut a Basic White and a Balmy Blue ‘spray’. I used a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink to create some detail of the ‘spray’ and a depth on the Balmy Blue die cut. Next I used a Dark Night of Navy Stampin’ Blends to add some ‘depth’ to the flowers. I adhered the two ‘sprays’ together, creating a shadow effect with the white. I added this to the card front with dimensionals, tied a bow with Metallic Woven Ribbon in Sweet Sorbet and added it to the spray with a rolled up glue dot. The last step for the front was to do the banner: stamped with the True Beauty stamp set and Polished Pink ink on a Basic White strip; die cut with a die from Sending Dies for the sentiment banner. This was adhered with dimensionals and the card front was complete.

Stampin' Up! True Beauty Bundle for Amy's Inkin' Krew Blog Hop, inside

For the inside… I stamped the flower from True Beauty stamp set in Polished Pink ink, to coordinate with the DSP card front! It looks simple – and great! I used a dab of Merry Merlot on my finger to add color to the flower center (you could use a sponge dauber but my finger was very handy!)

Stampin' Up! True Beauty bundle. Amy's Inkin' Krew Blog Hop group. 3/14/23

I stamped the same flower from True Beauty stamp set on the envelope front and called the envelope done. I like the simplicity!!! And I love this flower!
