Tuesday May 7 – how time flies. The gardens are filling out, some flowers are in their glory and others are still awakening from their winter sleep. This is a glorious time of year – at least for me. It is disheartening to see others suffer so much with allergies though… Jumping from that thought right into my card for today…

I love monochromatic cards, maybe you have noticed that. But now & then a monochromatic card needs something more – and this card was that, needing more. I started this card with wanting to show off the Designer Series Paper – Country Lace 12×12 DSP. Thick Basic White is the card base 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2. I layered that with a Basic White panel run through the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it directly to the card base. I cut three Designer Series Panels 1 1/4 x 3 3/4 and adhered them to a Basic Beige (NEW COLOR) panel 4 1/4 x 3 3/4. I wrapped a Bordered Ribbon in Basic Beige around the panels and secured them in back, I added dimensionals to this and centered it on the card front. Color – it needed color… I pulled out Highland Heather card stock and stamped the tepot from the Country Flowers stamp set and die cut it with the coordinating Country Flowers Dies. I stamped the flower bouquet in Memento ink on a Basic White piece and colored it with stampin’ Blends: Granny Apple Green and Mossy Meadow for the leaves, Petal Pink and Highland Heather for the flowers. I attached the teapot with dimensionasls, having it overhang the panels, then added the bouquet, also with dimensionals. For a sentiment, I used one from the Country Flowers stamp set, but it would not have to be a sympathy card is you wanted it for something else, as there others in the set.I pulled out Unbounded Love Dies and die cut the sentiment, put dimensionals on just the upper portion and placed it over the ribbon. As a final touch – Glossy Dots Assortment with a bit of shine filled my need – in Gorgeous Grape. Fine Shimmer Purple Gems could have worked as well.

For the inside of the card… a panel of Basic Beige – subtle contrast to the white card base – and a panel of the Country Lace 12×12 DSP, stamped with a sentiment from the Country Flowers stamp set (Memento ink).

I kept the envelope super simple – a piece of the Country Lace 12×12 DSP 2 1/4 x 6 – adhered to the envelope flap and trimmed to fit.
