Stampin’ Up AIK April Blog Hop

Today’s card is all about the women in our lives and I have chosen to honor our two daughters today with a special card. Of course they will each receive a card 🙂 I won’t make them share… I’m going to share only one of them with you today 🙂 I used the Simply Succulents Bundle and I haven’t used it much. Since it’s carrying over it’s a perfect time to use it! And I have paired it with one of the new In Colors for the card stock – Soft Succulent. ha… I just realized what I did!

At any rate, today is another Blog Hop with Amy’s Inkin’ Krew. The theme is a woman card or something girlie. Our girls are not ‘girlie, girlie’ so that doesn’t fit – but absolutely women of today. And one of them is a plant fanatic, meaning she loves the outdoors and plants. She has an amazingly beautiful landscape garden/ yard that she has designed herself. I’m just so proud of who she is and who she continues to become. And because of the plants – the Simply Succulent bundle is perfect.

Simply Succulents Bundle – #1

As I mentioned earlier, the card base uses one of the NEW IN COLORS, Soft Succulent – and it’s perfect! What a great shade of green, and I love how it pairs with some of the other greens SU! has in it’s lineup. The ‘top’ is a single die from the Potted Succulents Dies. Just so you know, you CAN cut this apart. I didn’t, as you see, but you can. The sentiment is one one of the banner dies in the set. And of course, I used a sentiment that works not only for our daughter, but is perfect with this die cut. Both are cut from Basic White card stock. The sentiment is stamped with Evening Evergreen ink – anothe4r NEW IN COLOR! And the folded-over ribbon is Open Weave Ribbon that comes in all five NEW IN COLORS. This happens to be Evening Evergreen. I also added some 21-23 In Color Jewels to the sentiment banner, which was adhered with dimensionals over the folded over ribbon. The ribbon is held in place with Seal+ on the back of the sentiment banner.

Simply Succulents Bundle, inside – #2

I love this pot! I’ve stamped it with another NEW IN COLOR, PALE PAPAYA ink, and colored it using the Stampin’ Blends in Pale Papaya. (Yes, stamped on a Basic White panel.) I then stamped two cacti rosettes using the Evening Evergreen ink then colored them in with Mint Macaron and Pale Papaya Stampin Blends. This could use a bit more contrast using a different color than Pale Papaya on the cacti. But it’s done now… The third cacti I stamped on a Basic White scrap, colored it the same way, then die cut it with one of the Potted Succulent Dies. I adhered with 3 mini dimensionals and the inside was done.

Simply Succulents Bundle – #3

For the envelope, I stamped the pots in Pale Papaya ink then colored them with Pale Papaya Stampin Blends. To me, they look like the clay pots we buy in the store :). Notice one of the pots has fallen over. Both are waiting to be used… Notice that when I colored the pots I left a central area uncolored for highlight. It really makes the pot look almost 3D!

I love how this card & envelope turned out. They ‘look’ just like our daughter 😁 ❤️. I think she will appreciate it.
