Stampin’ Up! August Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

Good Wednesday – mid-week, what’s up!? I played today with making a couple of PP alternatives. There was one extra Lotus Blossom on a lily pad left over fvrom the August PP kit, so I used it to make another card, similar to the cards in the August PP kit.

Stampin' Up! August PP Alternative 1

I used my Blending Brush and Misty Moonlight ink to create a pale sky on a Basic White panel, then added more ink to create the water below. Once darker, I added a bit of Orchid Oasis ink in the same manner. I then stamped lily pads in Pretty Peacock ink using the appropriate stamp from the August PP kit. I then added the cutout from the kit on dimensionals I added three of the ‘watger-like’ embellishments from the kit. This was added to a slightly larger Misty Moonlight card stock. These two were added to the Basic White Notecard with dimensionals – and the card front was complete.

On another same size Basic White panel, I stamped a Lotus flower in Berry Burst ink, stamping off once first. And yes, thsi stamp is from the August PP kit!. I added this to a Misty Moonlight piece then adhered them both to the inside of the card. DONE!

Alternative Card 2:

Stampin' Up! August PP Alternative 2

Using the Forget-Me-Not stamp from the August PP kit, I stamped in memento ink on a Basic White panel. I colored the image with Stampin’ Blends: Tahitian Tide, Shaded Spruce and Lemon Lolly. I put this panel in my scoring tool and scored around each side: 5/8″ & 1/2″ from the back side. This allowed the ‘bump’ to show from the front :O). I added adouble Linen Thread bow with a glue dot, attached tghe panel to a slightly larger Tahitian Tide panel and added them to the front of a Basic White note card with dimensionals.

With the same size Basic White Panel and Tahitian Tide ink, I stamped the sentiment using a stamp from the August PP kit.. This piece was added to a slightly larger Tahitian Tide, then attached to the inside of the Basic White Note Card with liquid glue.

I love how these turned out and thought of making several more of this second card by varying the blues used for coloring and a layer. That didn’t happen today! Note cards standard size are 3 1/2 x 5, so the layers were Basic White 3 x 4 1/2 and the colored layer was 3 1/8 x 5 3/8. They are perfect for a short note or for a gift! I don’t use these nearly enough, but really like the size. Stampin’ Up! offers them in Very Vanilla as well. :O)
