Stampin’ Up! Emboss Resist for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

Hello ! It’s that time of week for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.

The challenge is a sketch challenge for this week and I’ve chosen to work with Eden’s Garden Bundle (available to customers Nov 2) and use it to create an emboss resist technique. Here’s the challenge, and next to it is my card.

Emboss Resist w/ Eden’s Garden

How to do this emboss resist is really super simply: stamp in VersaMark ink, sprinkle with embossing powder of choice (I used white embossing powder here), heat set, then once cool with a blending Brush add color going over the embossing. Here I used a variety of the leaves from Eden’s Garden stamp set, white embossing powder and Soft Succulent ink after heat setting and allowing to cool. I adhered this piece to a Soft Succulent panel with liquid glue. Once that step was done I took a length of Open Weave Ribbon in soft Succulent and wrapped it around the two panels, securing it in back with Stampin’ Seal+. I die cut this interesting banner using the Eden Dies and Very Vanilla card stock. I also die cut three leaf sprays: two from Gold Foil and a third from Evening Evergreen. I adhered the banner over the ribbon with dimensionals, then tucked the leaf sprays behind it with liquid glue. I added the pretty bow out of Open Weave Ribbon in Soft Succulent with a glue dot. I put dimensionals on the back of the panel and attached it to a thick Very Vanilla card base.

Emboss Resist w/ Eden’s Garden, inside

For the inside I took the edge die from Eden Dies and a panel of Very Vanilla card stock and ran it through the die cutting machine. I adhered this to a panel of Soft Succulent card stock then into the inside of the card. With this gorgeous edge I didn’t think anything else was necessary.

For the envelope I stamped one of the leaf images from Eden’s Garden stamp set in Soft Succulent ink and covered the flap in Ever Eden SDSP. And this is ready to send… simple, elegant and easy.
