Terry Lynn Bright, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

The theme for this months blog hop is ‘giving thanks’ and there are so many ways of doing that. I’ve chosen to use the Sparkle of the Season Bundle with the coordinating dies and have had great fun putting this together. I worked a bit outside my comfort zone, which is a good thing to do! You can see I’ve used several products to create the wreath(die cut with the Seasonal Swirls Dies): Crumb Cake card stock, Cork paper & Gold & Rose Gold 6×6 that I colored with Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends. I die cut some leaves using the Seasonal Swirls Dies and some card stock that I had created with Blending Brushes and several ink colors. Those tiny leaves I adhered over some of the leaves on the Crumb Cake die cut wreath. Here’s some of the paper left over from that project.

I interwove the three die cut wreaths, one at a time & did some minor dots of glue to hold them together. Once they were together I did cut a circle with the Layering Circles Dies from Very Vanilla card stock, then stamped it with a sentiment from Sparkle of the Season stamp set. I used Stazon Saddle Brown ink for the sentiment. It has some gold tones in it and I really like how it blended with the wreath colors. I adhered the wreath to the circle and set that aside to work on the rest of the card.

I decided to pull out a piece of the Harvest Meadow DSP and die cut a panel with a Stitched Rectangle Die. I die cut a second panel of the same size from Very Vanilla card stock and adhered it to the Harvest Meadow for strength. I adhered the wreath to this panel with liquid glue, then put dimensionals on the panel and set it aside.

To a Very vanilla card base, I adhered Early Espresso card stock, then a panel of Cork paper over that. I adhered the wreath panel to this with dimensionals as mentioned before. I wrapped a length of Linen Thread around two fingers about five times, twisted it and then tied it tight with another piece of Linen Thread for a full, fluffy bow. I adhered this to the wreath with a glue dot – and the front was done.

For the inside of the card, I took a Very Vanilla panel and stamped these very cute tiny leaves using the re-inking technique shown on the right above. The tiny leaves come from Sparkle of the Season Stamp set. Re-inking technique: place drops of re-inkers on a baby wipe that is on an acrylic block. In this case I used Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze – about two drops of each onto the baby wipe. The ink spreads & use that as the stamping pad. (easy- peasy) I also stamped the leaf on a branch using the same process and it is from Sparkle of the Season stamp set. The sentiment is stamped in Stazon Saddle Brown ink and is from the Love of Leaves stamp set. I added a strip of the same Harvest Meadow DSP to the bottom of the panel then added the panel to an Early espresso piece & into the inside of the card. 🙂 done!

For the envelope I added the same Harvest Meadow DSP pattern to the flap & trimmed it to fit. On the front of the envelope I used the re-inking technique with the same leaf & branch stamp from Sparkle of the Season stamp set. And that was it. Card stock cuts may be found at the end of this post.
