Stampin’ Up! More Pansy Patch

Hello again… it’s Pansy Patch time as we are completing the gift box for Mother’s Day 🙂 These cards have been a challenge for me – lots of parts and wanting to stamp and die cut, plus, learning the set. At any rate I’ve come up with two more notecards/ envelopes for our Mother’s Day Gift box using the Pansy Patch Bundle/ Suite.

Yep, all new products on these cards! Let’s begin with the card on the left: two panels of square card stock (Pale Papaya & Pansy Petals DSP) layered, then a Vellum square doily on top of that. The doily just adds something – texture maybe, and a bit of a Victorian look. When I put these together I used Stampin’ Seal and just in the middle of the square. I rather like the looseness of the papers. Then I created the single pansy: Fresh Freesia card stock and ink, a bit of So Saffron card stock and ink and then Blackberry Bliss card stock for the very center. After putting all the parts together I added the pansy to the squares with dimensionals. Before adding the squares to the card I adhered two strips of card stock acrosss: Fresh Freesia and the Pansy Petals DSP – then adhered the squares with liquid glue. For a final touch I added these adorable Loose Flower Flourishes with liquid glue. Aren’t they sweet?

For the inside of this card… I stamped the sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink on a panel of Basic White card stock. After allowing this to dry for a bit I used my Blending Brush to gently add Fresh Freesia ink all over the panel, making it darker in the center. I added a Pale Papaya card stock panel behind this for a nice contrast and then into the inside of the card. Voila! For the envelope I stamped the pansy first in Fresh Freesia ink, then the filler in Blackberry Bliss ink , the small triangle definition in Gorgeous Grape ink and finally the center in Bumblebee ink. I added another panel of the gorgeous Pansy Petals DSP to the envelope flap and the card was done!

For card #2 I chose to go in another direction… I die cut a panel of Basic White card stock with the Stitched so Sweetly Dies, then cut a panel of the Pansy Petal DSP with the Scalloped Contours Dies. This is a very fun set of scalloped rectangle dies included with the Color & Contour stamp set – a post for another day! 🙂 Back to card #2 – I’ll show the photo again so it’s easier to follow along.

Pansy Patch 2 – card #2

I die cut the stem of the flower bud in Soft Succulent card stock, the bud in two parts: Basic White and Pale Papaya card stock. I then die cut the single leaf using Soft Succulent card stock and Evening Evergreen card stock. Then it was time to die cut the pansy… 2 panels of the upper petals in Pale Papaya card stock, the contrast in Calypso Coral card stock. The front petals are die cut first in Basic White card stock, then the overlay in Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral and Bumblebee for the center. This front layer was adhered to the upper petals (and the card front) with dimensionals; the upper petals adhered to the card front with liquid glue. The other parts were added with liquid glue. The final touch was the Bumblebee Trinket – love this bumblebee! For the inside, I cut another of the same Pansy Petal DSP and layered it with Basic White card stock – no stamping done. For the envelope I adhered some more of the gorgeous Pansy Petals DSP to the flap, then a portion of a a pansy that i fussy cut and adhered with liquid glue. Of course it got Wink of Stella!

This has been a fun project for me – hope you like it too! Remember this is a gift set for Mother’s Day and available for purchase $23 + shipping. Here’s is the complete set.
