Stampin’ Up! Retiring Pretty Perennials

Wow! It’s Easter Week…. how this has slipped up on me…. lots going on in the Stampin’ Up! world, Spring is showing off the daffodils, crocus, star flowers and love the Helebores or Lenten Rose as some people know it. This is a shade loving perennial and blooms quite early. Ours are surrounded by Hosta and the flowers get lost amidst the greenery. But for now, they show off their glory cuz the Hosta are just beginning to peak through the soil. :O)

Today’s card features the lovely and one of my favorite bundles in the Mini Catalog – Pretty Perennials – and it is retiring. While Stampin’ Up! has not released the retiring list from the Mini Catalog, as a demonstrator we get a preview of the new cattie – and this bundle is not in it! I have kept this card very, very simple and almost monochromatic. I definitely have an affinity for monochromatic cards… I may have to add a rhinestone to this, but for now…

Retiring Pretty Perennials – #1

Isn’t this fun? And the Stitched Whimsy Dies around the edge – love it. Products used in this card is a pretty short list.

  • Basic White Thick
  • Basic White
  • 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 DSP using Magenta Madness
  • Stitched Whimsy Dies (Jan – Jun Mini Catalog)
  • Pretty Perennials Bundle (Jan- Jun Mini Catalog)
  • Magenta Madness ink

Let’s get to the ‘how to’ so you can make this card.

I die cut several pieces using the Perennial Petals Dies and Basic White card stock and then used what I wanted – so there were some extras left over. I used the Stitched Whimsy Dies to create an impression on the Basic White panel, then stamped the word ‘happy’ before adhering anything to the card front. i began adhering the Petals die cuts with liquid glue, beginning with the leaf spray. Isn’t this a wonderful leaf spray die cut? Love the openness and as though it’s ‘blowing in the wind’ kind of look. I adhered each of the flower parts just in the center, as I wanted just enough dimension for a bit of 3D. This Basic White panel was layered on a slightly larger piece of 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 DSP. I added dimensionals to the back and adhered this to the Thick Basic White card front.

Retiring Pretty Perennials #2 – inside

For the inside… I stamped the word birthday in Magenta Madness ink on another Basic White panel, then added more parts of the die cuts from the Perennial Petals Dies with liquid glue. I adhered this to a panel of 2020-2022 In Color 6×6 DSP and into the inside of the card and voila!

Retiring Pretty Perennials – #3

For the envelope, I stamped the sentiment along the left in Magenta Madness ink and covered the flap with more of the 2020-2022 In color 6×6 DSP and the project was complete. What a simple and lovely card to have in my stash!

Now let’s talk a bit about some of the retiring items, cuz I don’t want you to miss out! The products that have surprised me the most are the Embossing Powders and some of the dies. While the embossing powders are not ‘on sale’ they are retiring and will not be available once sold out. Layering Circles, Layering Ovals, Layering Squares, Stitched Shapes – all retiring!!! Oh my… Seabed embossing folder – 10% off, Scripty EF 10% off, Old World Paper 3D EF – also 10% off. While the Subtle 3D EF is not on sale, it is retiring… what?
